Wequaquet Lake

The William and Jane Phinney House is a historic house at 555 Phinney's Lane in the Centerville area of Barnstable, Massachusetts. Built c. 1659 later updated to a 3/4 cape in 1715, it is the oldest surviving house in the village, and has an early surviving example of a bowed roof, a distinctive regional variation on the Cape style house. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The John Richardson House is a historic house in the Centerville area of Barnstable, Massachusetts. The 1+1⁄2-story wood-frame Cape style house was built c. 1795 by John Richardson, member of a locally prominent family and the first teacher at the Phinney's Lane School. It is four bays wide (a "3/4 house"), with the main entrance and chimney in the second bay from the left. The house is one of Centerville's older houses, located near the site of its first meetinghouse and cemetery.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

It is the oldest cemetery in the village of Centerville, and the only surviving civic element of its colonial origins. was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

WHYA (101.1 FM) — branded Y101 — is a Top 40 radio station licensed to Mashpee, Massachusetts, owned by Steve Chessare through Coxswain Communications, Inc. The station's studios are in downtown Hyannis and its transmitter is located in West Barnstable. WHYA airs syndicated programs like Elvis Duran and was the first affiliate of Liveline with Mason Kelter. It also ran Open House Party on Saturday and Sunday nights from the station's launch until March 2020.

Cape Cod Community College, known locally as "Four Cs", is a public community college in West Barnstable, Massachusetts. It was established in 1961, the second institution to open as part of what is now a 15 community college system in Massachusetts. Cape Cod Community College is the only community college and one of three colleges (along with Massachusetts Maritime Academy (Mass Maritime) in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts (a Census-Designated Place in Bourne, Massachusetts) and Bridgewater State University's Cape Cod satellite campus) on Cape Cod. It awards Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees and various academic certificates in a wide variety of programs. The college offers access to on-campus bachelor's and master's degree programs in partnership with: Bridgewater State University, Boston University, Lesley University, Salem State University, Suffolk University, UMass Boston, and UMass Dartmouth. Cape Cod Community College formally had a partnership with Wheelock College before that merged with Boston University to become the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development on Boston University's Fenway Campus. Cape Cod Community College is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education.The college is home to the Lyndon P. Lorusso Applied Technology Building, a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certified facility completed in 2006.

WKKL (90.7 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a classic alternative format. Licensed to West Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States, the station serves the Cape Cod area. The station is owned by Cape Cod Community College. The station is used as part of the classroom setting for their Associate degree program in communications. The studios are located on the campus of Cape Cod Community College in the Makkay Broadcast Center. In 1992, WKKL began simulcasting some hours of programming from WBUR, a public radio station in Boston. That relationship ended in 1999, due to WBUR's 1997 acquisition of the 1240 AM facility in West Yarmouth, the signal of which heavily overlaps with WKKL. In late December 2019, WKKL stopped broadcasting on 90.7 FM due to damage to the station's radio tower. In fall of 2020, repair of the radio tower was made possible by a donation from the Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation, and the station returned to the airwaves by late December 2020. Today, the station provides programming on air and online as students and alumni DJs are hosting shows featuring WKKL's classic alternative music format as well as a growing number of podcasts.
