Yellow Sulphur is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Virginia, United States. Yellow Sulphur is located along State Route 643 4.1 miles (6.6 km) south-southeast of Blacksburg.

Yellow Sulphur Springs is a historic resort complex located near Christiansburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. The complex includes the main building; proprietor's cottage (1870s); three rows of cottages formerly denominated the Petersburg, Memphis, and Spring Hill rows; a carriage house(no longer standing); and the site of a man-made lake and 19th century bowling alley (in ruins). Though established in the 1700s, the original section of the current main building was built about 1810, and expanded in 1840. The inn was mentioned in local records as far back as the late 1700s, before nearby Blacksburg, Virginia was established. It is a two-story, eight bay frame hotel building set upon a full basement. The building features a two-story portico with square Roman Doric piers stretches the length of the weatherboarded structure. The cold mineral spring water on the property is rich in minerals and doctors prescribed it to their patients.The Springs has had various owners over the centuries. The first buildings were constructed by Charles Taylor. Ridgeway Holt owned and operated the resort for over 20 years following the Civil War and into the 20th century. During the 1920s Yellow Sulphur Springs was owned and operated by a consortium of local African American businessmen. During the Great Depression the property was leased to the state of Virginia who housed and trained itinerant workers there. After the depression the Springs resort was owned by Charles Crumpacker, a local businessman and farmer. Upon his death his daughter Charlsie "Pistol Packing Mama" Crumpacker owned and lived at the resort. The property is currently owned by Bernard Ross and Victoria Taylor. Several of the nineteenth century cottages have been refurbished and are occupied by long term renters who enjoy the historic gardens and lovely trees. There is a Healing Arts Studio of new construction where massage and acupuncture treatments are given. www.yellowsulphursprings.com. Additionally a one bedroom guest cottage is available for overnight rental. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Montgomery Primitive Baptist Church is a historic Primitive Baptist church building located near Merrimac, Montgomery County, Virginia. It was built in 1922, and is a simple four-bay nave-plan frame church sheathed in weatherboard. It has a gable roof with stamped metal shingles. Also on the property is a contributing plain wooden preaching stand, also built about 1922.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Cambria is a neighborhood of the town of Christiansburg, Montgomery County, Virginia. Originally an independent town from Christiansburg, Cambria stretches along Cambria Road, extending north of the Train Depot on Depot Street. It is part of the Blacksburg-Christiansburg Metropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Montgomery County, Virginia and the Virginia cities of Blacksburg, Christiansburg, and Radford for statistical purposes.A post office was established at Cambria in 1890, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1965.

Trinity United Methodist Church is a historic Methodist church building located near Ellett, Montgomery County, Virginia. It was built between 1908 and 1910, and is a one-story, four-bay, nave plan brick structure. It has a two-stage corner tower, containing a vestibule at the northwest corner. The second stage of the tower takes the form of an open belfry with sawn brackets supporting a conical cap with finial. A Sunday school wing added in 1961.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Blankenship Farm is a historic home and barn located near Ellett, Montgomery County, Virginia. The farmhouse was built around 1929, and is a three-bay, two-story, brick, hipped roofed, American Foursquare-style dwelling. In addition to the farmhouse, there is a contributing fourteen-sided frame barn on a poured concrete foundation. It has a concrete floor and is sided with German or novelty weatherboard.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.Its 14-sided barn is a round barn.

Christiansburg station was an intercity rail station located in Christiansburg, Virginia. Originally built in 1906 to replace a previous station, it was served by Norfolk and Western Railway passenger trains until 1971. It was later served by Amtrak's Mountaineer from 1975 to 1977, then the Hilltopper until 1979. The station building remains extant.

Ellett is an unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Virginia, United States. Ellett is located at the junction of State Routes 603 and 723 3.7 miles (6.0 km) southeast of Blacksburg. A post office was established at Ellett in 1890, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1910. The Blankenship Farm, Earhart House, and Trinity United Methodist Church are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Cambria Freight Station, also known as Christiansburg Depot, is a historic freight station located at Christiansburg, Montgomery County, Virginia, US. It was built in 1868–1869, and is a wood-framed, one-story, U-shaped structure with a shallow hipped roof and deeply overhanging eaves in the Italianate style. A portion of the center section rises to form a tower-like second-story room, covered with an even shallower hipped roof. A long, one-story freight section extending eastward from the rear. The building also served as a passenger station, until Christiansburg station was built nearby in 1906. The building houses a local history museum known as the Cambria Depot Museum. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. It is located in the Cambria Historic District.

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) is a private medical school on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, with branch campuses in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Auburn, Alabama, and Monroe, Louisiana. VCOM also recently added Bluefield University to its list of campuses. Founded in 2002, VCOM graduated its first class of 139 students in June 2007. According to the U.S. News & World Report, VCOM was the second-largest medical school in the U.S. in 2021, with a total enrollment of 2,122 students among its four campuses.VCOM is an osteopathic medical school, which grants the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree (DO), and one of four located in the Appalachian region. It is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation.
