The Moolah Temple, formally the Moolah Temple of the Mystic Shrine, is a historic building located at 3821 Lindell, in St. Louis, Missouri. It was built in 1912 for use as a meeting place, and is "a brick and tile building in the Moorish style.It was built by the Moolah Shriners as the 28th Shrine Temple to be chartered. Moolah Temple as a name also refers to the organization, which met in the late 19th century at various Freemason buildings and had over 133 members attending meetings at a point. In 1912 the organization took steps towards forming its own building. The Lindell Boulevard location was chosen and Ernest Helfensteller, Jr., of Helfensteller, Hirsch and Watson, was chosen as architect. The building was completed and the first meeting was held in March 1914. The building was used by the Moolah Shriners until 1988, when it relocated to a renovated junior high school on Fee Fee Road. The building operated as a movie theater until 2020, after a $17.2 million renovation in 2004, and 40 apartments.The building also lays home to Moolah Lanes — the oldest operating bowling alley in the city of St. Louis. It is a contributing building in St. Louis's Midtown Historic District, listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The district's NRHP nomination describes the building's architecture as "colorful".The building faces on Kenrick Garden, a city park established in 1896.

The Museum of Contemporary Religious Art (MOCRA) is the world's first interfaith museum of contemporary art that engages religious and spiritual themes. MOCRA highlights the ongoing dialogue between contemporary artists and the world's faith traditions, as well as the ways visual art can encourage and facilitate interfaith understanding. MOCRA is located on the campus of Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Standard Adding Machine Company was founded in the early 1890s (first records are from 1892) in Illinois and was the first company to (successfully) release a 10-key adding machine. The machine was a breakthrough for its time because it dramatically modernized computing. Earlier key driven adding machines, like the comptometer, featured eight or more columns of nine keys, which made them cumbersome and costly and their operators prone to mistakes. The 10 keys were set on a single row. The invention won an international grand prize during the 1904 World's Fair and was heralded as a "modern life preserver" in an office journal.

Metro Academic and Classical High School is a magnet public high school in St. Louis, Missouri, United States, that is part of the St. Louis Public Schools school district. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 377 students and 24 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.7:1. There were 374 students (99.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and none eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Metro is notable for being one of two International Baccalaureate World Schools in Missouri. Their IB Diploma Programme is coordinated by Sharleta Williams.

Saint Louis University New Student Visit Center (as known as The Alexander Euston Mansion and Queen's Daughters House) is a stone castle building located at 3730 Lindell in St. Louis, Missouri. This mansion was built in 1890 by English immigrant Alexander Euston who made money in the white lead and linseed oil business. It was built to include sixteen rooms and a ballroom. In 1912, the St. Louis-based religious society Daughters of the Queen of Heaven, an organization of lay Catholic women, purchased this building and converted it to a boarding house for single women. It functioned as a woman's home until 1972. The Church of Scientology owned the building between 1974 and 1985. In 1988, Saint Louis University acquired the mansion and converted it to its New Student Visit Center as part of the Office of Admission. The building is one of the best remaining examples of Romanesque Revival architecture left in the city of St. Louis. Another house of Romanesque architectural style on the campus of Saint Louis University would be Samuel Cupples House.

Humphrey's Restaurant & Tavern (also referred to as Humphrey's or Hump's) is a college bar near Saint Louis University. For over four decades, the restaurant and tavern at the corner of Spring and Laclede has been the close-to-campus destination for many students. It was the basis for the 2001 film One Night at McCool's, written by Stan Seidel, and yet the movie was not shot here. Seidel, who died just prior to the film's debut, was a frequent customer at Humphrey's before writing the film.The tavern opened on June 18, 1976, and is named after its owner, Robert "Humphrey" Mangelsdorf. Mr. Mangelsdorf was born in St. Louis. In 1968, he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Louis University, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity. The tavern closed on January 1, 2017. Originally the structure was going to be demolished and rebuilt, but it instead was heavily renovated. Humphrey's reopened in November 2022.

Saint Louis University School of Law, also known as SLU Law, is the law school affiliated with Saint Louis University, a private Jesuit research university in Saint Louis, Missouri. The school has been American Bar Association approved since 1924 and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.

The Camp Jackson affair, also known as the Camp Jackson massacre, occurred during the American Civil War on May 10, 1861, when a volunteer Union Army regiment captured a unit of secessionists at Camp Jackson, outside the city of St. Louis, in the divided slave state of Missouri. The newly appointed Union commander in Missouri, Brigadier General Nathaniel Lyon, had learned that the ostensibly-neutral state militia training in Camp Jackson was planning to raid the federal arsenal in St. Louis. That led to him and his regiments, consisting mostly of pro-Union German immigrants, marching into St. Louis and capturing the rebels. After capturing the entire unit, Lyon marched the captives into town to parole them. En route, hostile secessionist crowds gathered and began throwing rocks and shouting ethnic slurs at Lyon's regiments, and after an accidental gunshot, Lyon's men fired into the mob, killed at least 28 civilians, and injured dozens of others. Several days of rioting throughout St. Louis followed. The violence ended only after martial law had been imposed and Union regulars dispatched to the city. Lyon's actions ensured Union control of St. Louis and Missouri for the rest of the war but also deepened the ideological divisions within a state that had initially sought to remain neutral in the larger conflict.

The 1907 Dorris Motor Car Company Building is a factory and industrial warehouse located at what is now 4059 – 4065 Forest Park Avenue in the Central West End neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The building was originally constructed in 1907 as an automobile factory for the Dorris Motor Car Company and was modified in 1909 with the addition of a third story. It was the headquarters and manufacturing facility for the company until 1926, and the company played a significant role in the establishment of St. Louis as an automotive assembly and parts manufacturing center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 10, 2000.In 1926, the Dorris Motor Car Company officially went out of business, but the building has seen subsequent use. It held the Brauer Brothers Manufacturing Company's shoe factory for many years. After the Brauer Brothers Manufacturing Company moved out, the space was used for retail purposes by a furniture store. It then sat vacant for years. In 2004, it was renovated for use by the Center for Emerging Technologies, a startup incubator that is now called the CIC@CET. The building is undergoing further renovation today for continued use by the CIC@CET.

The Center for Global Citizenship (CGC), previously known as the Bauman–Eberhardt Center and the West Pine Gym, is a multi-purpose cultural center in St. Louis, Missouri. The building initially opened in 1920 as an arena, and was used for this purpose by Saint Louis University until Chaifetz Arena finished construction in 2008. After extensive renovation, the building became the Center for Global Citizenship in the fall of 2013.It was home of the Saint Louis University Billikens men's basketball team until the Kiel Auditorium opened in 1934. The building also hosted the Saint Louis University Billikens women's basketball team from 1920 to 2008. which played its final season at that facility during the 2007–2008 season. After that, the program moved into the new Chaifetz Arena at the start of the 2008–2009 season.The building is now home to SLU's Center of Global Citizenship, which opened in 2013.

Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business is the business school of Saint Louis University, a Jesuit, Catholic university located in St. Louis, Missouri. It is named after Richard Chaifetz, chairman and C.E.O. of ComPsych Corp., following his $27 million gift to the university. The school's Richard A. Chaifetz Center for Entrepreneurship consistently ranks in the Top 10 and, in 2010, was ranked "Top 5 for Entrepreneurs" by Fortune (magazine). The school's undergraduate business program ranks #71 in the US according to U.S. News & World Report. In 2019, four of the school's graduate programs were internationally ranked, including Entrepreneurship (No. 12), International Business (No. 13), Supply Chain Management (No. 15), and Accounting (No. 28). The business school was founded in 1910 and is the oldest business school west of the Mississippi River and 15th oldest in the United States. The Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by AACSB International—the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier accrediting agency for degree programs in business—in which it earned accreditation in 1948. Less than 5% of business schools worldwide have earned accreditation. The student body includes more than 1,700 undergraduates and graduates.
