Burton Mere Wetlands

Burton Point railway station was located on the northern side of Station Road, at Burton, Cheshire, England. The station opened on 1 August 1899 on the North Wales and Liverpool Railway. The station closed to passengers, and completely, on 5 December 1955. Although the platform waiting rooms and footbridge were demolished after closure, the yellow and redbrick main building remains in use as part of a garden centre and the platforms are still in existence. The line through the former station remains in use as part of the Borderlands Line.

Burton Point is an Iron Age promontory fort located 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southeast of the village of Burton, in the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. The site, which overlooks the estuary of the River Dee, consists of tree-covered earthworks in the form of a bank and ditch. The area to the north of which has been quarried for its underlying sandstone. The fort is a scheduled monument. To the south of the fort is a burial site that was excavated in 1878, revealing the remains of between 50 and 60 burials. It is not known whether these are of an early Christian date, or if they are the remains of a local shipwreck in 1637.The site once formed a promontory on the original course of the River Dee. In the early 18th century, a new channel was constructed on the Welsh side of the estuary to improve navigation to the Port of Chester. This led to the headland becoming landlocked to the reclaimed farmland of Sealand, Flintshire.

Ness Botanic Gardens are at Ness, Cheshire in the Wirral Peninsula. This is near the cities of Liverpool and Chester and close to the English-Welsh border. They occupy a site of 64 acres overlooking the Dee Estuary. The Ness Botanic Gardens were created by Arthur Kilpin Bulley (1861-1942), a wealthy cotton trader from Liverpool and benefited from collections by many plant hunters including George Forrest and Frank Kingdon-Ward.Arthur Bulley began to create the garden in 1898. In 1948, a few years after his death, Lois Bulley, his daughter, gave the gardens, to the University of Liverpool, under a Conditional Trust. One condition of the Trust is that the gardens must remain open to the public. They are on the National Register of Historic Parks and Gardens and are Grade II. The gardens have many fine specimen trees and flowers. Magnolias, rhododendron, witch-hazels and camellias are some of the notable plant-hunted species in the garden. Snowdrop walks are conducted during the flowering season.

Lord Nelson's mistress, Emma Hamilton, was born in Ness.The Errington Baronetcy, of Ness in the County Palatine of Chester, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 26 June 1963 for the barrister and Conservative politician Eric Errington. The present holder of the title is the 3rd Baronet of Ness, Sir Robin Davenport Errington, Bt.

Sealand Rifle Range Halt railway station served RAF Sealand in Sealand, Flintshire, Wales, from 1923 to 1954 on the Borderlands line.

Burton Manor is a former manor house in the village of Burton, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. At one time an adult education college, this is now closed, but the walled garden is open to the public and is administered by the Friends of Burton Manor Gardens.

St Nicholas Church is in the village of Burton, Ellesmere Port and Neston, Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Wirral South. Its benefice is combined with that of St Michael, Shotwick.

Little Neston is a village south of Neston and situated on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. Little Neston is administratively part of Cheshire West and Chester and had a population of 3,390 at the 2001 Census.The settlement was mentioned in the Domesday Book as Little Nestone. Together with Neston, it is a former mining village, with shafts dug out underneath the River Dee. The marshes of the River Dee are popular with bird watchers and horticulturalists because of the wide range of flora and fauna to be found in the area. Lord Nelson's mistress, Emma Hamilton, was born in nearby Ness and is remembered locally with the Lady Hamilton pub. Little Neston is home to St Winifride's RC Primary School on Mellock Lane and Woodfall Primary School on Woodfall Lane. Neston Primary School on Burton Road is also in Little Neston. The nearest high school is Neston High School in Raby Park Road, Neston.

Deeside Parkway (Welsh: Parcffordd Glannau Dyfrdwy) is a proposed railway station situated between Neston and Hawarden Bridge on the Borderlands Line. The station is intended to serve the Deeside area of Flintshire, North Wales, particularly the Deeside Industrial Park. Deeside Parkway station forms part of the wider plan for the North Wales Metro, and is considered to be a key component of the plan. The proposed station was shortlisted for preliminary assessment by the Welsh Government in July 2017, and prioritised for development in April 2019. Funding to develop the proposal was announced in November 2020, as part of the third round of the New Stations Fund. The station has a projected cost of £22.56m to build, exclusive of VAT.The October 2017 Liverpool City Region Combined Authority update to the Long Term Rail Strategy mentions the station at Deeside Industrial Park as planned to be built between Network Rail Control Periods CP5 and CP7.

Neston South railway station was a station on the single track Hooton to West Kirby branch of the Birkenhead Railway, on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, England. The station served the town of Neston.

Deeside Power Station is a power station on the Deeside Industrial Park to the north of Connah's Quay in Flintshire, Wales. Constructed as a 498 MWe combined-cycle gas plant, it is now used to provide inertial response and reactive power services to the grid. It is a mile from the 1,420 MW Connah's Quay Power Station, owned by Uniper. The power stations are separated by the Flintshire Bridge.
