The New York State School Boards Association (NYSSBA) serves as the statewide voice of more than 700 boards of education. The collective influence of some 5,000 school board members, who constitute half the elected officials in the state, enables NYSSBA to work toward the benefit of the elementary and secondary public school system in New York. School board members are the educational leaders of their communities; they determine policies that govern the operation of their local public school system. NYSSBA provides current information and advice on matters affecting school boards and cooperates with other educational and related organizations in promoting excellence in education. NYSSBA provides advocacy information, leadership development, and custom services to public school boards. NYSSBA was founded in 1896 in Utica, New York, as the New York State Association for School Boards. In 1920 it was known as the State Association of School Boards and Trustees of New York State.By 1929 it became the Associated School Boards and Trustees of the State of New York. In 1932 this organization merged with the New York State Association of Central Rural School District Boards to form the New York State School Boards Association. Incorporation took place on December 12, 1935, and the organization's official name became the New York State School Boards Association, Inc. The expenditure of public funds payable as dues to NYSSBA was given a legal foundation in Education Law by the state legislature in 1945.

Reformed Dutch Church of Rensselaer in Watervliet (also known as Component No. 19) is a historic Reformed Dutch church at 210 Old Loudon Road in the hamlet of Latham, town of Colonie, Albany County, New York. It was built in 1817 in a vernacular Greek Revival style. It has a pedimented roof and corner pilasters. It features a square cupola with a single bell atop the roof with a large channeled cornice with a low pitch roof. It served as a church until 1886 and since then has been used as a feed store, public meeting hall, chapel, architect firm and most recently as theater for stage productions.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Latham is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Albany County, New York, United States. It is located along U.S. Route 9 in the town of Colonie, a dense suburb north of Albany. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,736. Latham was a census-designated place in the 1970, 1980, and 1990 US Censuses, but ceased to be in the 2000 Census, then became a CDP again in 2020.

Boght Corners (also referred to as Boght) is a hamlet in the town of Colonie in northern Albany County, New York, United States, that straddles U.S. Route 9 (Route 9). The corners that give the hamlet its name are found at the intersection of Route 9 and Boght Road (NY Route 9R on leg east of hamlet), near the Boght Community Fire District's station. The community is served by the North Colonie Central School District. Boght Hills Elementary School is located within the hamlet.

Latham Circle Mall was an enclosed shopping mall located adjacent to the Latham Circle (the intersection of US 9 and NY 2) in Latham, New York. Built in 1957 as Latham Corners Shopping Center, the mall was renovated several times in its history, most notably in 1977 when it became a fully enclosed and temperature-controlled shopping mall. Around the mid 2000s, the mall started to lose tenants eventually becoming a dead mall. By 2013, the mall was to be redeveloped and shuttered while JCPenney, which has been part of the complex since it opened in 1957, remained. Demolition of the mall began in March of that year.

It was built about 1727 and is a rectangular 1+1⁄2-story, three-by-two-bay center entrance brick dwelling with a gambrel roof. It features a single-story wraparound porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

Simmons Stone House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built between 1847 and 1849 and is a two-story, massive cruciform plan stone house constructed of random ashlar blocks. It has an intersecting, low pitched gable roof with broad overhanging cornice in the Italianate style. It features a one-story porch across the front elevation with a cobblestone foundation and hipped roof supported by square columns.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Van Denbergh-Simmons House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. The house was in three phases: the northeast section was built between about 1720 and 1760; the northwest section about 1790; and the south section about 1847. The northeast section is a 1+1⁄2-story Dutch house with a 1-story porch. The northwest section is a 1+1⁄2-story ell containing a large kitchen and bee hive oven. The south section is a 2-story Italian Villa style addition with a hipped roof and large square tower at the northwest corner. Also on the property are the remains of a barn foundation.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Dunsbach Ferry is a hamlet of the town of Colonie, in Albany County, New York, United States. The hamlet sits to the east of, and below, the Thaddeus Kosciusko Bridge (also known as "The Twin Bridges"), where Interstate 87 (I-87) crosses the Mohawk River. There are numerous private and public docks and landings between the Twin Bridges and the Colonie Town Park.
