Latham Circle

Reformed Dutch Church of Rensselaer in Watervliet (also known as Component No. 19) is a historic Reformed Dutch church at 210 Old Loudon Road in the hamlet of Latham, town of Colonie, Albany County, New York. It was built in 1817 in a vernacular Greek Revival style. It has a pedimented roof and corner pilasters. It features a square cupola with a single bell atop the roof with a large channeled cornice with a low pitch roof. It served as a church until 1886 and since then has been used as a feed store, public meeting hall, chapel, architect firm and most recently as theater for stage productions.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Latham is a hamlet (and census-designated place) in Albany County, New York, United States. It is located along U.S. Route 9 in the town of Colonie, a dense suburb north of Albany. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,736. Latham was a census-designated place in the 1970, 1980, and 1990 US Censuses, but ceased to be in the 2000 Census, then became a CDP again in 2020.

Latham Circle Mall was an enclosed shopping mall located adjacent to the Latham Circle (the intersection of US 9 and NY 2) in Latham, New York. Built in 1957 as Latham Corners Shopping Center, the mall was renovated several times in its history, most notably in 1977 when it became a fully enclosed and temperature-controlled shopping mall. Around the mid 2000s, the mall started to lose tenants eventually becoming a dead mall. By 2013, the mall was to be redeveloped and shuttered while JCPenney, which has been part of the complex since it opened in 1957, remained. Demolition of the mall began in March of that year.

Shaker High School, is a public high school in Latham, Albany County, New York, United States, and is the only high school operated by the North Colonie Central School District. The school's Science Bowl team finished first in their regional competition in 2020 earning trips to the national competition in Washington, DC. It is part of the North Colonie Central Schools school district and is fed in part by (name change) Shaker Middle School.

The Starlite Music Theatre was a 3,000-capacity theatre in the round located in the Latham area of the Town of Colonie. Also known as the Latham Coliseum, it opened as the Colonie Coliseum in 1958 with a production of the classic musical Damn Yankees, and was demolished in 2012. Some of the big-name acts that performed at the venue include Diana Ross, Rodney Dangerfield, Eddie Murphy, Three Dog Night, Pat Benatar, America, "Weird Al" Yankovic, B.B. King, Bob Hope, Little Richard, The Beach Boys, Harry Chapin, and Kenny Rogers.The Starlite property is located at 625 Columbia Street Extension (NY 9R), west of the city of Cohoes, and just east of 9R's southern junction with US 9 & I-87. After its 2012 demolition, it was revealed that the site would be redeveloped into a headquarters for Ayco, a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs. Once completed, the new HQ will house over 800 employees.

NYSSBA was founded in 1896 in Utica, New York, as the New York State Association for School Boards. In 1920 it was known as the State Association of School Boards and Trustees of New York State.By 1929 it became the Associated School Boards and Trustees of the State of New York. In 1932 this organization merged with the New York State Association of Central Rural School District Boards to form the New York State School Boards Association. Incorporation took place on December 12, 1935, and the organization's official name became the New York State School Boards Association, Inc. The expenditure of public funds payable as dues to NYSSBA was given a legal foundation in Education Law by the state legislature in 1945.

Verdoy Schoolhouse, also known as District No. 7 Schoolhouse, is a historic one-room school building located at Newtonville in Albany County, New York. It was built in 1910 and is an asymmetrical frame building. It features a slate covered hipped roof crowned by a small belfry and a massive chimney at the center of the roof. Until 1996 when moved to the grounds of the Casparus F. Pruyn House, the school was located on Troy-Schenectady Rd. and was previously listed in 1985 as the Verdoy School.It was listed originally on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and relisted in 1997.

Goodrich School is a historic school building located in Colonie in Albany County, New York. It consists of a one-story, gable roofed rectangular brick building built about 1922 with a one-story, rectangular hipped roof wing dated to about 1926. On the south side are a series of two additions completed during the 1950s. The building is in the Classical Revival style and features a prominent portico with curved underside supported by six Doric order fluted columns. Atop the roof is an octagonal wood cupola with a copper roof.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Newtonville United Methodist Church is a historic United Methodist church located on Loudon Road at Maxwell Road in Newtonville, Albany County, New York. There has been a Methodist congregation meeting at the present site of the church since 1828. Three area congregations merged to the Newtonville location in 1858, and the church was called Asbury Chapel. When the building then in use exceeded its physical limitations, the current building was constructed. This new structure, built for a cost of $11,150.00 and paid for in 3 years, was called "Asbury Methodist Episcopal Church." The congregation was incorporated as the First Methodist Episcopal Church of Newtonville in 1916.: 3 The current late Gothic Revival structure was built in 1893, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. In the late 1940s the men of the church dug, by hand, a cellar to create space for a fellowship hall under the sanctuary. An education structure was added to the rear of the main sanctuary building in 1959. A sexton's cottage, also dating to the late 19th century, sits next to the church building. The former parsonage on the site was removed in the early 1960s, and the church's carriage sheds were destroyed by fire. The current pastor at Newtonville United Methodist Church is Reverend Steven M. Smith, who has been serving there since 2011.

Casparus F. Pruyn House is a historic home located in the hamlet of Newtonville within the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York. It is a two-story, rectangular five bay wide, center entrance dwelling in a late Federal and early Greek Revival style. It was built between 1824 and 1836. Pruyn was rent collection agent for Stephen Van Rensselaer and, after Stephen's death, William Van Rensselaer who had inherited the "East Manor" in Rensselaer County. From 1839 to 1844 Pruyn resided at the Patroon Agent's House and Office at Rensselaer and was a central figure in the Anti-Rent War at Rensselaerswyck. Also on the property are a contributing carriage house, privy, and smoke house. It is open to the public as the historical and cultural arts center for the Town of Colonie. The Verdoy Schoolhouse was moved to the grounds in 1996. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

George H. Lawton House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1852 and is a 1+1⁄2-story cottage in the Gothic Revival style. It has board and batten siding, exposed roof rafters, and a 1-story porch with simple supports. It is a distinctive example of mid-19th-century "pattern book" architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Newtonville is a hamlet in the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York, United States. Located along U.S. Route 9, the hamlet is just south of Latham and north of Loudonville. Colonie Town Hall is located in the hamlet of Newtonville.
