Woodside (Aberdeen) railway station

Aberdeen North is a burgh constituency of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom and it elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It was first used in the 1885 general election, but has undergone various boundary changes since that date. There was also an Aberdeen North Holyrood constituency, a constituency of the Scottish Parliament, created in 1999 with the boundaries of the Westminster constituency of at that time. It was abolished in 2011 by the new constituencies of Aberdeen Donside and Aberdeen Central.

Woodside is part of the city of Aberdeen. It came into existence as a quoad sacra parish within the parish of Old Machar in 1834, under an act of The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland of 31 May 1834 (IX. Sess. 10, 31 May 1834. – Declaration Enactment as to Chapels of Ease), and was named for the principal residence of the area, Woodside House. Within this parish which was bounded to the north by the River Don there were three villages, Woodside, Tanfield and Cotton (also known as Nether Cottown). Its population in 1841 was 4,893 living in 440 houses. By 1868 it had become a police burgh and the community was being described as a village in its own right (distinct from the quoad sacra parish of which it was the largest part), and a suburb of Aberdeen. It was part of the Aberdeen Burgh Parliamentary constituency.By 1881, it had developed into a community of 5,452 (the population of quoad sacra parish population growing to 5,928). It had its own separate post office, a railway station, paper works, a free library, a public school, and a number of churches of various denominations. Ten years later, in 1891 it, (along with Old Aberdeen and Torry) was formally incorporated into the city of Aberdeen.

The Lang Stane in Hilton, Aberdeen, Scotland is a granite Menhir type standing stone with measurements of approximately 2.95 m in height, 1.5 m in breadth and 0.9 m in thickness at ground level. Its broad face is aligned WNW and ESE.In the immediate area of Aberdeen there are other standing stones with the same name, such as the Lang Stane at Langstane Place in Aberdeen city centre and the Lang Stane of Auquhollie just south Aberdeen.

Danestone is a small, village-like area of Aberdeen, Scotland, located next to the suburb of Bridge of Don. Located North of Aberdeen City Centre, Danestone is a relatively new area of Aberdeen. The area was all farmland until the 1980s when Danestone Primary School and many detached, semi-detached houses and bungalows were built. The name Danestone came from the name of Danestone Farm.

Don Street railway station served the parish of Woodside, Aberdeen, Scotland from 1887 to 1937 on the Great North of Scotland Railway.

Danestone Congregational Church is a Congregational Christian Church located in the Danestone community of the Bridge of Don suburb in Aberdeen, Scotland. Originally established in 1986, the current church building was constructed in 1991. In addition to traditional Sunday services, the church operates a Sunday School, Youth Group, Boys’ Brigade, Men's Group, Ladies’ Group, Good Afternoon Club and monthly services at Fairview Nursing Home. It is also supports missionary work. In Tanzania, the church created a project to provide support for AIDS. Danestone Congregational Church is associated with the other Congregational churches of Aberdeen including the Peterhead, Balmedie, Potterton, Woodside, Kittybrewster and Cove churches.

Elphinstone Hall is a large hall belonging to the University of Aberdeen, located at their King's College campus in Old Aberdeen. It is a 20th-century building which replaced the "Common Hall" and is named after Bishop William Elphinstone, the founder of the University. An arcade dominates the front of the building, behind which lie a reception area and then the large, wood-panelled hall with hammerbeam roof. Portraits of founding fathers of the university and other key figures from its history line the walls. A related suite of luxurious rooms called the Linklater Rooms run along the arcade, named after writer Eric Linklater, a graduate of the university. The complex includes catering facilities as well as cloakroom facilities. In front of the hall is a large lawn, which is popular with students and staff of the university in summer. In winter, the university places a large Christmas tree on this lawn. The hall is currently the venue for all University of Aberdeen graduation ceremonies.

Hilton is a former village, now a neighbourhood, located just north of Rosehill in Aberdeen.

The Diamond Bridge, known during planning and construction as the Third Don Crossing, is a bridge across the River Don in Aberdeen, Scotland, which opened in 2016. It is the third crossing of the river open to all traffic between the suburbs of Bridge of Don and Aberdeen City, after the Bridge of Don and Persley Bridge.

The Haudagain Roundabout is a roundabout in Aberdeen that bisects the A92 and A96.As all traffic going northbound to Inverness via the A96 or southbound to Dundee via the A92 must pass through this roundabout it is a notoriously busy and hazardous junction with large queues approaching all directions to the roundabout, especially during rush hour. It has been referred to as 'Scotland's worst roundabout'.The construction of Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route is aimed at reducing the congestion due to traffic passing through Aberdeen. In addition improvements are planned to help ease the congestion at the roundabout.

Cornhill is an area of Aberdeen, Scotland.At the west there is a bar (Murdos), the small Cornhill Shopping Centre whose main store is a Aldi supermarket, to the south it stretches as far as Forresterhill Hospital and to the east its area covers as far as Ashgrove. Socially Cornhill consists mainly of council housing including three tower blocks; Cairncry Court, Cornhill Court, and Rosehill Court. The Royal Cornhill Hospital offers specialised treatment in regard to psychiatric matters for residents of northern Scotland.

Balgownie transmitting station is a relay transmitter of Durris, situated in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, and covering Tillydrone, Woodside, parts of Old Aberdeen and the Abbey Road area of Torry. It is owned and operated by Arqiva.
