Andoorkonam is an area in Trivandrum city in the Indian state of Kerala.It is located approximately 20 km from the Thiruvananthapuram city. Andoorkonam is noted for its reserves of Kaolinite (china clay). The temple of Sree Ramadasa Ashram is nearby.

Sainik School Kazhakootam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India, is a residential school for boys under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, located approximately 18 km away from Thiruvananthapuram city beside Kazhakoottam - Venjarammoodu bypass and 1 km away from National Highway 66. The concept of Sainik Schools originated in the mind of late V. K. Krishna Menon, who was India's first Defence Minister from 1957 to 1962. The objective was to set up schools run on military lines, in each state of India, which would facilitate the grooming of bright young boys for intake into the National Defence Academy, thus, rectifying the regional and class imbalance in the officer cadre of the Indian Military. It follows a concept of rigorous military training which is not for the faint-hearted.

Asian School of Business is an AICTE ( All India Council for Technical Education) approved business school located in Technocity West, Pallipuram, Trivandrum, Kerala. India. The institution was established in 2005. Its aim is to facilitate and promote studies and research with a focus on professional education. The flagship programme of Asian School of Business (ASB) was the "Postgraduate Diploma in Management" (PGDM). The IIM Bill 2017 permitted the IIMs to change the nomenclature of their two-year Post Graduate Programme from PGDM to MBA. Asian School of Business also decided to change the nomenclature and approached the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) Kochi for recognition of the programme. In April 2019, the University approved the request and Asian School of Business started to offer the MBA programme with the degree being conferred by CUSAT. The programme combines the rigour of the CUSAT MBA and the industry orientation of the earlier PGDM programme. Specializations are offered in the domains of marketing, finance, human resources and operations. Admission to these programmes is through a Common Entrance Test followed by group discussion and interview. As per the directives of the Admission Supervisory Council appointed by the Government of Kerala, the accepted entrance tests are CAT, CMAT and KMAT. The Two Year Full-Time MBA programme is also approved by the AICTE, New Delhi.

Puthenthope (Puthen - New, Thope - Orchard) is a coastal village in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) district in Kerala, India, and situated 19 km (12 mi) northwest of city centre, 16 km from Trivandrum International Airport. The village is mostly covered with coconut palms and cashew trees. Its western side edges the Arabian sea, while the east is separated by Parvathi Puthanar, a manmade canal completed during the time of Regent Sethu Lakshmi Bhai of Travancore Kingdom. Access to National Highway (NH 66) and a railway station is as short as 2 km (1.2 mi) and the VSSC of the Indian Space Research Organisation is close by. There are two man made hills — one on the south (Thekkekkunnu)and the other on the north (Vadakkekkunnu), which are believed to have been made during the time of Portuguese.India's first DNA-Barcoding Centre, set up at bio-informatic centre for Tropical Garden and Research institute at Puthenthope. Famous Malayalam Cine Artist Alencier Ley Lopez hails from Puthenthope.

St Ignatius Church, Thiruvananthapuram is a Catholic church located in the Kadinamkulam panchayat of Trivandrum, Kerala, India. The church is the center of all religious and social activities. The present church was built in 1989. The foundation stone was blessed by Pope John Paul II during his visit to Trivandrum in 1986. The church is the replica of St.Joseph's Cathedral in Trivandrum City. A grotto of Mary is also built in front of the church and the statue of Mary in the grotto was brought from Lourde by a native of Puthenthope. A parochial house, which shows the typical architecture of Kerala is also situated nearby the church. St.Ignatius Parish community hall is another building situated along with the church in the junction of Puthenthope.

Karicharakadavu is a small village in Andoorkonam Panchayat, situated to the north around 8.5 km from Kazhakuttom town and around 4 km from Kaniyapuram. It is situated on the banks of the "Parvathyputhenaar"- a canal constructed by the "Duraay" - a term for the "Pathan contractors", who were part of Tipu Sultan's Military and had settled in Kerala during the reign of HE Marthanda Varma. The "Duraay", traditionally warriors on horseback were sent in by Tipu Sulthan to assist HE Marthanda Varma in controlling the internal rebellion that was taking place during the pre-independence time. The pathans or the Dekhini Muslims - residents of this small village are descendants of the "Duraay" and speak Urdu at homes. Traditionally a coir business belt which has dwindled over the years as coir prices have fallen. A coir workers welfare society operates here. Karicharakadavu has an old Devi temple called the Karichara Bhagavathy temple, known as locally PARAKKARIKKOVIL which is believed to be around 250 years old.

Technocity is a technology park an under construction integrated township in Trivandrum,India dedicated to electronics, software, and other information technology (IT). It was conceived in 2005 as the fourth phase of development of Technopark, Technocity is a complete IT City, spread across about 500 acres (200 hectares), which includes not just space for IT/ITES firms but also residential, commercial, hospitality, medical, and educational facilities. The project is a new self-dependent satellite city, which would not strain the resources and infrastructure of the city of Thiruvananthapuram.The units in Technocity include a wide variety of companies engaged in a range of activities, which include embedded software development, enterprise resource planning (ERP), process control software design, engineering and computer-aided design software development, IT Enabled Services (ITES), process re-engineering, animation and e-business. The firms will include domestic companies as well as subsidiaries of multi-national organisations.Technocity is being jointly developed by the Government of Kerala and private developers. The Govt. is represented by Technopark and a special company called the Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited (KSITIL). Individual phases of the project will be developed as Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) between KSITIL and individual developers. KSITIL plans to hold 26% equity share in all the SPVs. Once fully operational, Technocity is expected to create about 200,000 employment opportunities.

Access to National Highway (NH 66) and a railway station is as short as 3 km (1.9 mi) and the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is close by.

Kazhakoottam is a major suburb in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala state, India. The largest IT Park of the country in terms of developed area Technopark along with Technocity an upcoming integrated IT township is situated here. Hence it is known as the Information Technology capital of Kerala. It is one of the fastest growing area of the state.

Greenfield International Stadium, also known as The Sports Hub, and previously as Trivandrum International Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in Kerala, India, used mainly for cricket and football. The stadium is located at Kariavattom in Thiruvananthapuram city. It was built on 36 acres of land leased by the Kerala University for ₹94 lakh (US$146,527.23) per year for a period of 15 years. The first international football tournament hosted by the stadium was the 2015 SAFF championship. India were crowned the champions, beating Afghanistan 2–1 in the final. On 1 November 2018, the venue hosted its first cricket ODI.
