Leziate, Sugar and Derby Fens

Pott Row is an expanding village near King's Lynn, Norfolk. It is the western part of the civil and ecclesiastical Parish of Grimston. Pott Row and neighbouring Grimston were quite significant centres of pottery production from the 11th to 16th centuries and important suppliers of this to Scandinavia. Pots often had faces carved just under the rim. Some of these can be seen in local Museums including the Castle Museum, Norwich.

Ashwicken is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Leziate, in the King's Lynn and West Norfolk district, in the county of Norfolk, England. The village sits on the B1145 King's Lynn to Mundesley road around 5 miles (8.0 km) east of King's Lynn. In 1931 the parish had a population of 117. On 1 April 1935 the parish was abolished and merged with Leziate.The village name means 'At the specialised-farm', with the later addition of 'ash-tree' or a personal name.Ashwicken is the site of a shrunken medieval village, one of around 200 lost settlements in Norfolk. The remains of the village were visible as earthworks near to Ashwicken Hall but were partly destroyed by ploughing in the 1990s. The hall was surrounded by a medieval moat which was filled in during the 19th century.The parish church, which is dedicated to All Saints, dates from the medieval period. It was restored during the 19th century and is a Grade II* listed building.

Roydon is a small village, civil parish and electoral ward east of King's Lynn in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 4.62 km2 (1.78 sq mi) and had a population of 368 in 144 households at the 2001 census, the population of the village and ward being shown as 2,450 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It is recorded in the Domesday Book as Reidnua and in 1254 as Ridone.The village was served by the Grimston Road railway station of the Midland & Great Northern Railway Company (the station was named after the nearby village of Grimston despite being in the centre of Roydon because, at the time of opening, Grimston's population was ten times that of Roydon). The station opened in 1879, and closed to passengers in 1959 (freight traffic continued to pass through the village until this section of the M&GN railway finally closed in 1968). Roydon today has a large common which is managed as a nature reserve. The most significant building architecturally is the parish church of All Saints, parts of which date back to the 12th century although it was subject to major renovations by the prolific ecclesiastical architect GE Street in 1857. The church is Grade 2* listed.

Grimston Road railway station was a railway station in North Norfolk. It was on the Midland and Great Northern Joint Railway main line, carrying traffic between King's Lynn and the coast. It was not located in Grimston itself, but rather on the road leading into the village.

Roydon Common is a 194.9-hectare (482-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of King's Lynn in Norfolk. It is also a Grade I Nature Conservation Review site, a National Nature Reserve and a Ramsar site. It is part of the Roydon Common and Dersingham Bog Special Area of Conservation and Roydon Common and Grimston Warren nature reserve, which is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust,

Freebridge Lynn Rural District was a rural district in Norfolk, England from 1894 to 1974.It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Freebridge Lynn rural sanitary district, and was named after the Freebridge Lynn hundred. It covered an area to the east of King's Lynn. It was reduced somewhat in 1935 when under a County Review Order, the civil parishes of Gaywood and North Lynn became part of the borough of King's Lynn. In 1974, the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, and became part of the West Norfolk district.

Docking Lynn Rural District was a rural district in Norfolk, England from 1894 to 1974.It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Docking rural sanitary district. It covered an area south and east of Hunstanton. The only changes to its boundaries during its 80 years of existence were caused by a series of expansions of Hunstanton Urban District (1902, 1925 & 1928). In 1974, the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, and became part of the West Norfolk district.

Bawsey is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is about 4 miles (6.4 km) east of the town of King's Lynn and 40 miles (64 km) west of the city of Norwich. The village sits astride of the B1145 Kings Lynn to Mundesley road that dissects North Norfolk west to east. The village's name means 'Beaw's island'The civil parish has an area of 6.81 square kilometres (2.63 sq mi) and in the 2011 census had a population of 216 in 105 households. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. It forms part of the North West Norfolk constituency in the House of Commons. Norfolk County Council is responsible for roads, some schools, and social services.The church was dedicated to St James and has been in ruins since at least 1745. The building and its surrounding area were the subject of a live dig by the Time Team programme in 1998. They determined it started life as a monastic settlement before becoming the parochial church of Bawsey; also during the weekend dig, the Norman arch under the former central tower was restored after it had collapsed some years before.

East Winch railway station was at East Winch, Norfolk, England on the line between King's Lynn and Swaffham. It closed in 1968. The signal box from the station lay derelict until it was later salvaged by the Mid-Norfolk Railway for use at Thuxton level crossing where it has since been restored and in working use from 2010 onwards.

Bawsey is a 2.6-hectare (6.4-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest east of Kings' Lynn in Norfolk. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This site has Quaternary till, unsorted glacial sediments, with a depth of up to five metres. It is separated from the main East Anglian till sheet, and it is the type site for the Bawsey Calcareous Till.The site is private land with no public access.

Congham is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated some 6 miles (10 km) east of the town of King's Lynn and 34 miles (55 km) west of the city of Norwich.[1]

Grimston is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, approximately 6 miles north-east of King's Lynn. It covers an area of 18.08 km2 (6.98 sq mi) and had a population of 1,952 in 823 households at the 2001 census, increasing to a population of 1,980 at the 2011 Census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk. The village is a few miles away from the Royal family residence at Sandringham House. The village was built on a spring line and a Roman villa was found near Watery Lane in the late 19th century. Subsequently, Roman villas were found in the neighbouring villages of Gayton Thorpe and Well Hall to the south and Congham and Appleton to the north. Some red bricks from the villas were re-used in the church, on buttresses and on the South Wall. Grimston, and particularly the nearby hamlet of Pott Row were quite significant centres of pottery production from the 11th to 16th centuries, and important suppliers of this to Scandinavia. The Grade I listed Church of St Botolph has late Saxon or early Norman origins, largely extended in the 14th and 15th centuries. Schools that serve the area of Grimston are Holly Meadows School (Primary) in Vong Lane and Springwood High School in King's Lynn (Secondary). Adam Thoroughgood (1604 -1640) was born in Grimston. He was a prominent Virginia settler in the 1620s, naming the city of Norfolk, Virginia after his home county. The district of Thoroughgood in Virginia Beach is named after him, and a house he built there is open as Adam Thoroughgood House.
