Maysville Historic District (Maysville, Georgia)

Maysville is a town in Banks and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. The population was 1,798 at the 2010 census, up from 1,247 at the 2000 census.

Hurricane Shoals Park, located just off SR 82 Conn. near Maysville in the U.S. state of Georgia, is a public park managed by Jackson County Parks and Recreation. The 71.35-acre park, which preserves an area of exposed granite shoals along the North Oconee River, was officially opened to the public in 1978.

Gresham Motorsports Park (formerly Jefco Speedway, Georgia International Speedway and Peach State Speedway) is a half-mile (.8 km) paved oval auto racing track in Jefferson, Georgia. The track opened in 1967, named Jefco Speedway. Tom Pistone won the inaugural event, a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman race. Two NASCAR Grand National races were held at the track in 1968 and 1969, won by Cale Yarborough and Bobby Isaac. Since 1983, the track has held the World Crown 300 for late model stock cars. The track was renamed Peach State Speedway in the early 1990s. The circuit was renamed and extensively renovated in 2009. NASCAR started running K&N Pro Series East races in 2010.

Atlanta Dragway was a drag racing facility located in Banks County, Georgia, just north of Commerce, Georgia. From 1981 until its closure after the 2021 season, it hosted the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series, Southern Nationals.

Homer is a town in Banks County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,141 at the 2010 census. The town is the county seat of Banks County.

The Old Banks County Courthouse is in Homer, Georgia. Construction started in 1860 but was interrupted because of the American Civil War. Construction was paid for with $6,600 in Confederate money. Construction was finished in 1875. (The Georgia Courthouse Manual dates it as completed in 1863.) The building is a two-story brick courthouse with a stone foundation in the Greek Revival style. It is similar to many courthouses in Virginia, which is a result of the builders being from Virginia. It has Tuscan columns that are on top of one-story brick piers. The interior originally had a cross plan. The courtroom and judge's chambers are on the second floor, which are accessed by outside double stairways. A new courthouse replaced this one in 1987. There were plans to demolish the building, but the citizens voted by more than a 2:1 margin to save it. It was restored in 1987–1989 with funding through a hotel/motel tax.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
