Whitnall Park is the largest park in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. It is located in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. The park was named for Charles B. Whitnall. Major work in the park was completed during the Great Depression through the Public Works Administration.

Wehr Nature Center is a 220-acre (89 ha) nature preserve located in Hales Corners, Wisconsin: it is part of Whitnall Park. It was named for philanthropist Todd Wehr whose foundation donated $200,000 USD to help build the center.

Boerner Botanical Gardens are botanical gardens located on the grounds of Whitnall Park in the village of Hales Corners, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin. The gardens are named for Alfred Boerner, who designed the original five formal gardens. The Annual, Perennial, Rock, Rose and Peony Gardens were constructed in the 1930s. Later additions included trial, herb, lily and shrub rose gardens, as well as the Bog Walk. Part of the Milwaukee County Park System, the gardens are maintained by professional horticulturalists. Many species of plant life are cultivated and displayed. The gardens include test and display gardens for All-America Selections, and is an American Hosta Society Display Garden.Boerner Botanical Gardens is open from late April to early November, and closes for the winter.Within the gardens and adjacent to them in Whitnall Park, and along the Root River Parkway is the arboretum, which showcases arranged groves of trees and shrubs. Nearby are the Wehr Nature Center and the historic Trimborn Farm estate, which are also maintained by the county park system.

The Jeremiah Curtin House is a stone building built in 1846. It was the boyhood home of noted American linguist and folklorist Jeremiah Curtin (1840-1906) and is part of the Trimborn Farm estate in Greendale, Wisconsin. The house is owned by the Milwaukee County Historical Society and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is a two-story building with 18-inch (0.46 m) thick walls of Milwaukee County limestone and stucco. It is about 24.5 feet (7.5 m) by 19 feet (5.8 m) in plan. The house was restored in the 1930s in a Works Project Administration project but later was vandalized heavily. It was acquired by the Milwaukee County Historical Society in 1952.In addition to its association with Jeremiah Curtin, it was deemed notable as it was believed to be the first stone dwelling in Greenfield Township and the oldest surviving structure in the area. It is also significant as a tangible representation of Irish immigration to the rural areas of Milwaukee County.The NRHP nomination for the house asserts incorrectly that it was the birthplace for Jeremiah Curtin, but in fact he was born in Detroit in 1840.

Trimborn Farm is a Victorian era estate located in Greendale, Wisconsin, United States, and owned by Milwaukee County. Spanning 7.5 acres (18.5 hectares) and nine buildings, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The farm is also a State Historic Site and designated Milwaukee County Landmark.

Greendale is located southwest of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is a part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. WZTI (1290 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Greenfield, Wisconsin, and serving the Milwaukee metropolitan area. It airs an oldies radio format, featuring hits from the 1960s and 70s, known as "Fonz FM" It is owned by the Milwaukee Radio Alliance, a partnership between Times-Shamrock Communications and All-Pro Broadcasting, along with sister stations 102.1 WLUM-FM and 93.3 WLDB. Its studios are on Good Hope Road in Menomonee Falls. WZTI is powered at 5,000 watts. To protect other stations on 1290 AM from interference, it uses a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is off West Rawson Avenue in Franklin, near the Root River. Programming is also heard on two FM translators, W262CJ at 100.3 MHz in Milwaukee and W297BY at 107.3 MHz in Franklin.

The Greendale Historic District is a National Historic Landmark District encompassing the historic core of the village of Greendale, Wisconsin. The village core was designed in the 1930s as part of a New Deal program to establish so-called "greenbelt towns" as model suburbs, and is one of three such communities built by the federal government. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005 and designated as a National Historic Landmark in 2012.
