The Victoria Bug Zoo is a two-room minizoo that is located in downtown Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, just one block north of the Fairmont Empress Hotel. It was sold to Xing Chen in 2014. The Victoria Bug Zoo is run my General Manager Jaymie Chudiak and Outreach Manager Karlee Friesen.

The Bay Centre (formerly the Victoria Eaton Centre) is a shopping mall in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. It is bounded by Douglas, Government, Fort, and View streets, in the city's historic centre. It has 39,115 square metres (421,030 sq ft) of retail space.Opening in 1989, the mall was the first large shopping mall in downtown Victoria. It occupies two city blocks of the Old Town area, including the site of the original downtown Eaton's store (previously Spencer's) at 1150 Douglas Street. Eaton's was demolished in 1987–88 to make way for the Eaton Centre project. The development of the shopping centre was initially the subject of controversy, as construction involved demolishing several historic buildings (or reducing them to facades in front of new construction) and closing one block of Broad Street.The centre was initially a partnership between Eaton's and Cadillac Fairview. When Eaton's went bankrupt in 1999, the Eaton's store in this mall was occupied first by Sears Canada, and then by The Bay (now Hudson's Bay), for which the mall was renamed. In 2010, Cadillac Fairview sold the complex to LaSalle Investment Management for an undisclosed price in the range of CA$90 million to CA$110 million, which is among the largest real estate transactions in the city's history.

Similarly as it is in the Northwest Coast, it is believed that singing and dancing maintain the state of the spirit world and the physical landscape, and that these invisible song-lines hold Mother Earth together. Mark Loria Gallery carries on this tradition and philosophy with artworks that represent the sacred, supernatural, and mysteries in indigenous art that goes beyond what is shared and visible. Rogers Building or Rogers Chocolates is a historic building in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, it is located at 913 Government Street in downtown Victoria. The two-storey building was completed in 1903 by architects Hooper and Watkins for Charles Rogers (1854–1927), a grocer who operated from the opposite side of the street before 1903. Rogers Chocolates continues to operate from this site since. The site was designated as a historic building in 1991. It is a small Victorian era commercial building with a Queen Anne Revival shopfront, and intact interior fixtures and decorative features.

The Victoria Conference Centre is a conference centre located in the downtown core of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. In January 2008, the centre received a CA$2 million upgrade through the Canada-B.C. Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund, making it the second largest conference centre in British Columbia.

Munro's Books is a large independent bookstore in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Munro's has a staff of 30 and a large children's book section. The store celebrated its 50th anniversary in September 2013.Since 1984, the store has been located in downtown Victoria in a neo-classical building (Royal Bank Building) with a 24-foot (7.3 m) coffered ceiling, designed in 1909 for the Royal Bank of Canada by architect Thomas Hooper. Munro's Books has been described by journalist Allan Fotheringham as "the most magnificent bookstore in Canada, possibly in North America."The store was founded in 1963 by Jim Munro and his first wife Alice Munro, the 2013 Nobel Prize-winning short-story writer; at the start, its stock was mostly paperbacks. According to Jim Munro, Alice Munro began to write after reading some of the bookstore's stock and deciding angrily that "I can write better books than this." Although Alice Munro has not had any relation to the bookstore for decades, the store still receives fan and press calls asking for her.Textile artist Carole Sabiston, Jim Munro's second wife, created the tapestries that decorate the bookstore.

The Fairmont Empress, formerly and commonly referred to as The Empress, is one of the oldest hotels in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Located on 721 Government Street, it is situated in Downtown Victoria, facing the city's Inner Harbour. The hotel was designed by Francis Rattenbury, and was built by Canadian Pacific Hotels, a division of the Canadian Pacific Railway company. The hotel is presently managed by Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, part of AccorHotels since 2016. It is owned by Nat and Flora Bosa of Vancouver. Opened on 20 January 1908, the Châteauesque-styled building is considered one of Canada's grand railway hotels. Since its opening, the hotel has undergone two expansions, the first from 1910 to 1912, and a second expansion in 1928. The building was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada on January 1981. The Empress underwent a significant restoration between 2015 and 2017, which cost more than $60M. The hotel commemorated the restoration efforts on 28 June 2017.
