The Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia (WBA or Association) is a voluntary bar association in metropolitan Washington, D.C. The WBA has more than 800 members and was founded in 1917.

Sabin Vaccine Institute (Sabin), located in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit organization promoting global vaccine development, availability, and use. The National Security Archive is a 501(c)(3) non-governmental, non-profit research and archival institution located on the campus of the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1985 to check rising government secrecy, the National Security Archive is an investigative journalism center, open government advocate, international affairs research institute, and the largest repository of declassified U.S. documents outside the federal government. The National Security Archive has spurred the declassification of more than 10 million pages of government documents by being the leading non-profit user of the U.S. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), filing a total of more than 50,000 FOIA and declassification requests in its over 30 years of history.

American Tradition Partnership (ATP), formerly known as Western Tradition Partnership, is a conservative 501(c)4 advocacy group in the United States targeting what it describes as "environmental extremism." ATP has also initiated litigation targeting campaign finance regulations. It maintains an office in Washington, D.C. The organization's mission statement is a dedication "to fighting environmental extremism and promoting responsible development and management of land, water, and natural resources in the Rocky Mountain West and across the United States." ATP promotes what it describes as voluntary, free-market solutions to environmental problems as the means to protect both the economy and the environment. It works to achieve its organizational goals through lobbying, public education, and grassroots mobilization.The group was first registered as Western Tradition Partnership as a 501(c)(4) in 2008. In 2010, the group spun off a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Western Tradition Institute, which also did business as the American Tradition Institute. In 2013, the American Tradition Institute changed its name to the Energy & Environment Legal Institute, to reflect its focus on the area of strategic litigation.In 2012 the group was scrutinized in a PBS Frontline documentary, Big Sky, Big Money, which showed that the group was not registered with Montana as a political committee, and illuminated several charges against its activities. After that, the group maintained low visibility until the 2014 election cycle in the state.

2000 Pennsylvania Avenue, also known as The Shops at 2000 Penn and Red Lion Row, is a shopping center and eight-story office complex located on Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington, D.C. It forms a busy gateway into the main campus of the George Washington University, which owns the property. As the 2000 Block of Eye Street, NW, the houses were named a DC Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places, both in 1977.

Trachtenberg School, officially the Trachtenberg School of Public Policy and Public Administration (TSPPPA), is the graduate school of public policy and public administration in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences of the George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. The Trachtenberg School offers Master of Public Policy, Master of Public Administration, and a PhD in Public Policy and Public Administration.

The College of Professional Studies (CPS) at the George Washington University, established in 2001, offers programs to professional students at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Graduate Certificate level. The Graduate School of Political Management is also housed in the college. The current interim dean is Chris Deering, PhD. Founded in 2010, GW Nursing is the newest of the 10 schools and colleges of George Washington University. U.S. News & World Report University Rankings ranks GW Nursing as the 30th best doctoral the 27th best masters programs in nursing in the United States.

The School of Media and Public Affairs (SMPA) at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, a school in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in journalism and political and international communication. The School's director is Frank Sesno, former CNN correspondent, creator of PBS's Planet Forward and professor.

Kinkead's, An American Brasserie was a fine dining restaurant in Washington, D.C. open from 1993 to 2012, named for its chef and owner Bob Kinkead, primarily featuring seafood and New American cuisine.Kinkead's was located at 2000 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, and it quickly became one of the most popular restaurants in DC when it opened in October 1993. It was named one of the "25 best new restaurants in America" by Esquire Magazine. In 1996, the Mobil Guide awarded four stars to Kinkead's, one of only two restaurants in Washington to earn that distinction. In 1995, Bob Kinkead won the James Beard Award for "best American chef" in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Many politicians and celebrities ate at Kinkead's, including President Bill Clinton, Senator Ted Kennedy, and dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov; and many of Washington's best chefs trained there, including Logan Cox, Jeff Black, and Ris Lacoste.In 2005, Bob Kinkead published a cookbook, Kinkead's Cookbook: Recipes From Washington D.C.’s Premier Seafood Restaurant. In James Patterson's novels, Kinkead's restaurant is a frequent dining and date spot for the character Alex Cross.Kinkead's closed on December 22, 2012.
