Marford is a village in Wrexham County Borough, Wales, near the Wales-England border. Marford covers some 750 acres (3.0 km2), where the hills of north-east Wales meet the Cheshire Plain. Distant landmarks that can be seen clearly from Marford include Eaton Hall, Chester Town Hall and Cathedral. Beyond that on the Cheshire plains, Peckforton Castle and its hills form the skyline, with the outcrop of rock at Beeston Castle.

The Gresford Methodist Church, historically known as the Gresford Wesleyan Methodist Church, is a church on Chester Road in Gresford, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The Wesleyan Methodist Church held its first service in 1879, and was built as a replacement for the Pant Methodist Chapel, located on Turnpike Lane in Gresford. It remains a place of worship.

Gresford (; Welsh: Gresffordd Welsh pronunciation: [ˈɡrɛsfɔrð]) is a village and community in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. According to the 2001 Census, the population of the community, which also includes the village of Marford, was 5,334, reducing to 5,010 at the 2011 census. The Grade I listed All Saints' Church, Gresford has been described as the finest parish church in Wales, and has the most surviving medieval stained glass of any Welsh church. Its bells are one of the traditional Seven Wonders of Wales. The former Gresford Colliery was the site of the Gresford disaster, one of Britain's worst coal mining disasters, when 266 men died in an underground explosion on 22 September 1934.

Rossett was a minor railway station located on the Great Western Railway's Paddington to Birkenhead line several miles north of Wrexham in Wales. The route is still open today as part of the Shrewsbury to Chester Line. Originally, there was a level crossing just south of the platforms but this has been reduced to the status of a foot and cycleway crossing. To the south of the station there were once goods loops on both sides of the line as well as extensive sidings on the east side. Part of the old Up (southbound) platform still survives. The double track on the Wrexham to Chester section was singled in 1983 but has been redoubled between Rossett and Saltney, with work finally completed in April 2017 (a year later than scheduled).

Trevalyn Hall in Rossett, a Grade II* listed building, is an Elizabethan manor house near Wrexham in Wales. It was built by John Trevor in 1576. The Trevor family of Trevalyn were one of the leading families in East Denbighshire by about 1600 with numerous estates in both Flintshire and Denbighshire. The Plas Teg estate in Hope, Flintshire was also acquired by the Denbighshire branch of the family when it was purchased from a cousin by Sir John Trevor I (1563–1630) and it was he who built the present Plas Teg house in 1610. The Hall is constructed from brick with stone dressings on a stone plinth of five exposed courses. There are five bays with the end wings and central entrance bay projecting to the south-east on a H-plan. The three bays at the front elevation have decorative tulip-shaped finials at base and apex of the gables. Between the windows of the first and second storeys there are armorial bearings carved in stone including those of the Sackville Family There is some evidence to suggest that the service wing and corridor linking it to the main house were rendered with pebbledash in the early 1800s to mirror the new estate cottages of Gresford and Rossett. In later years the render was removed. The interior was remodelled in the 1830s by architect Thomas Jones for the Grifith family. Trevalyn Hall was Grade II* listed on 9 June 1952 due to it being an important example of an Elizabethan country house, and for historic associations with the Trevor family who developed much of the surrounding built environment. In 1984 the Hall was divided into two residences, retaining many original features including the fireplaces by Jones. In recent years the Hall has undergone more sympathetic restoration and redecoration by the current owner, Alexander Daghlian, who received an Excellence Award from LABC for the Best Extension in 2018. The extension of the building created an orangery for the property that was designed to reflect the original building using reclaimed brick, incorporating sandstone dressings and bronze casement windows. Some of the work undertaken during 1980s used materials and techniques unsuitable for use in a historic building. These materials have been stripped out and the building refurbished and upgraded using traditional and breathable materials. In particular the roof has been insulated with sheep’s wool, walls re-plastered in hemp plaster and redecorated in clay paints, windows overhauled, and a limecrete floor with underfloor heating installed. During the works a 16th-century fireplace was also uncovered and restored.

Burton (Welsh: Bwrton; ) is a village in the community of Rossett in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The hamlet of Burton Green is a separate settlement and is located around a mile northwest from Burton. The village is predominantly rural in nature and comprises a mixture of working farms and residential properties. Burton is 2 miles from the larger village of Rossett, where there is a variety of shops, a primary school, a secondary school, a post office, chemist, a Catholic church, off-licence, and plenty of good pubs and eateries including the award-winning Welsh restaurant 'The Machine House'. There is a popular monthly farmers' market in the village hall. Despite the proximity to the border with England, 7.7% of Burton residents are Welsh speakers.

The Presbyterian Chapel, Rossett, is on Station Road, in Rossett, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It continues to be active as a Welsh Presbyterian church.The church was built in 1875 to a design by the Chester architect John Douglas. It has lancet windows and a flèche which is tiered at its base. At the end of the gable is a timber porch.

Horsley Hall was a Jacobethan-style house with formal gardens, near to Gresford, Wrexham County Borough, that was destroyed in 1963.

Christ Church is a church of the Church in Wales, situated in Rossett, Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade II listed building. Christ Church is an active Anglican church in the Alyn Mission Area, the archdeaconry of Wrexham and the diocese of St Asaph.

Gresford (for Llay) Halt was a small railway station located on the Great Western Railway's Paddington to Birkenhead line a few miles north of Wrexham in Wales and halfway up the Gresford bank.

All Saints' Church (Welsh: Eglwys yr Holl Saint) stands in the former coal mining village of Gresford in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. It is a large, mainly late 15th-century church in a slightly red sandstone, in many ways more typical of nearby Cheshire churches. It has been described as the finest parish church in Wales, and has the most surviving medieval stained glass of any Welsh church.The bells of the parish church of All Saints are one of the traditional Seven Wonders of Wales. Not only are the peal of bells of note, listed it is said for the purity of their tone, but the church itself is remarkable for its size, beauty, interior church monuments, and its churchyard yew trees. The bells are commemorated in an anonymous rhyme: Pistyll Rhaeadr and Wrexham steeple, Snowdon's mountain without its people, Overton yew trees, St Winefride wells, Llangollen bridge and Gresford bells.The church was designated as a Grade I listed building on 7 June 1963, as "an exceptional example of a late-medieval church with fine medieval glass and furnishings".
