Humphreys University, previously known as Humphreys College, is an independent, non-profit university with two campuses in California, one in Modesto and the other in Stockton. It has been in continuous service to the central San Joaquin Valley since 1896, giving it the distinction of being the first institution of higher education in the area. It awards certificates, and associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. Its Humphreys College Laurence Drivon School of Law awards the juris doctor degree. Opened in 1979, it features Macy's, Best Buy, Petco, Ulta, HomeGoods, Dick's Sporting Goods, Sprouts Farmers Market, Burlington, and Sky Zone. It is owned and managed by Stone Brothers. Prior to its redevelopment in 2022, it was one of two enclosed shopping malls in Stockton, the other being Weberstown Mall, which is located next door to Sherwood.

Middle College High School (also known as Middle College or by its initials MCHS) is located in Stockton California, on the San Joaquin Delta College campus and is part of the Lodi Unified School District (LUSD). Middle College was founded in the fall of 2000. Its target enrollment is 240 students in grades nine through twelve, each grade having about 60 students. In 2007 and 2011 Middle College was named a California Distinguished School and in 2008 was named a National Blue Ribbon School. It is considered to be one of the more prestigious schools in the area, with an Academic Performance Index (API) Score of 915 in 2013. The school is accredited by the Western Association of School and Colleges Accrediting Commission for Schools. Middle College is an AVID school, where students take an AVID class for all four years of enrollment. Middle College has a Dual Enrollment program, which allows students to enroll in college courses while completing their traditional high school credits. The school's mission is, "to provide a supportive, academically challenging environment where students are able to successfully complete 30-60 transferable college units in order to directly apply to a 4-year college." The majority of Middle College students graduate with one or more associate degrees in arts (AA) or sciences (AS) in addition to their high school diploma. Given this, it is typical for students to complete their general education and move on to four-year universities with junior standings. Due to the school's rigorous academic program and small school setting, the school does not offer sports. Enrollment at Middle College mostly consists of minorities.Middle College participates in well-known organizations such as AVID, American Red Cross, National Honor Society, United States Academic Decathlon, Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA), and Key Club International.

San Joaquin Delta College (Delta College) is a public community college in Stockton, California. It was founded in 1935 as Stockton Junior College. The college serves a district area that includes all of San Joaquin County and parts of Alameda, Calaveras, Sacramento, and Solano counties.

Weberstown Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Stockton, California, United States. Opened in 1966, it is anchored by JCPenney, Sears, Dillard's, and Barnes & Noble. Weberstown also features Victoria's Secret and its sister store, Pink, as well as Old Navy and Forever 21. It is owned and managed by Washington Prime Group. Prior to 2022, Weberstown Mall was one of two enclosed shopping malls in Stockton, the other being Sherwood Mall, which is located next door. Sherwood was redeveloped into a conventional shopping center and was renamed Sherwood Place. As a result, Weberstown became the city's lone remaining enclosed shopping mall.

Ronald E. McNair High School is a high school in Stockton, California, United States. Opened in 2005, it is the newest high school in Lodi Unified School District. The school is named after Dr. Ronald E. McNair (1950–1986), a physicist and astronaut who died in the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger explosion.

California's 9th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. Josh Harder, a Democrat, has represented the district since January 2023. Prior to redistricting by the California Citizens Redistricting Commission of 2011, the 9th district encompassed part of the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. Cities in the district included Oakland, Berkeley and Castro Valley. Most of that area became parts of 13th district, while the 9th district in 2012 through 2022 was primarily made up of portions of the 18th and 11th districts from the 2002 through 2012. Since the redistricting prior to the 2012 election, the 9th district centered on Stockton. It consisted of most of San Joaquin County and portions of Contra Costa and Sacramento counties. Cities in the district include Antioch, Galt, Oakley, Lathrop, Lodi, Mountain House, and Stockton.With the redistricting in advance of the 2022 elections in California, the 9th district is still centered on Stockton. However, Tracy, Manteca, and Ripon, which were formerly in California's 10th congressional district, are now part of this district, while Antioch, Lathrop and Brentwood are no longer in the district. Antioch and Brentwood are part of the new 10th district, which is now west of the 9th district (as opposed to south). Lathrop will be part of the new 13th district.John Kerry won the penultimate version of the district in 2004 with 85.9% of the vote. Barack Obama swept the same district in 2008 with 88.13% of the vote while John McCain received 9.87% of the vote, making it Obama's best and McCain's worst performance in California. The latter version of the 9th district (starting in 2012) was substantially more competitive, though it also favored the Democratic Party. According to poll-aggregation website FiveThirtyEight, the 2022 version of the district leans toward the Democratic Party.
