Meridian High School (MHS) (formerly George Mason High School) is a comprehensive public high school serving the independent City of Falls Church. Until January 2014, it was located in Idylwood, an unincorporated area of Falls Church, in Fairfax County, Virginia, adjacent to Falls Church City. As part of Fairfax Water's agreement to purchase the Falls Church Water System, the parcel with MHS was transferred to Falls Church City.The school serves some 850 students in grades 9-12. The school is the sole high school of the Falls Church City Public Schools system. In 1981, the school became the first in Virginia to use the International Baccalaureate program.The school ranks gold in U.S. News & World Report's Best High Schools Ranking for 2020; Meridian High School (formerly George Mason) ranks #16 among all schools in Virginia and #649 in the United States.A design for a new main building was unveiled in 2017 and construction began in 2019. The new LEED-certified building opened to students in 2021, and the original was demolished. In December 2020, the FCCPS School Board voted to rename George Mason High School and its counterpart Thomas Jefferson Elementary School due to their namesakes' association with American slavery. After a period of deliberation and public comment, the school board selected Meridian High School as a replacement name.

Mount Hope is a historic home located at Falls Church, Virginia. It was built in the 1830s, as a 1+1⁄2-story, frame I-house dwelling. It consists of three parts: a frame dwelling built about 1830; a 2+1⁄2-story, 3-bay, Gothic Revival brick dwelling built in 1869; and a 1-bay brick section that joins the two. The 1869 section features a pair of corbel topped chimneys that pierce the apex of the gable roof, which has a substantial overhang on all elevations. It also has a three-bay porch with low hipped roof across the front facade.The 1831 wing of the house is the oldest residential building in Falls Church. It was one of the earliest stops on the local mail route. Amzi Coe purchased the residence in 1842 and named it Mount Hope. The property was used for meetings of the Presbyterian Church in the parlor. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

In 1998, it became one of the largest congregations in the United States to have a female rabbi, when it replaced Berkowits, who had decided to retire, with then-Associate Rabbi Amy Schwartzman.The Temple's Associate Rabbis are Jeffrey Saxe and Stephanie Bernstein. Idylwood is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 17,954 as of the 2020 census. It originally developed as a suburban community along the route of the Washington and Old Dominion Railroad, and later along Virginia State Route 7. The construction of the Capital Beltway in the 1960s, and I-66 and the Orange Line of the Washington Metrorail system in the 1980s, as well as the concurrent development of nearby Tysons Corner into Washington's leading suburban business district, led to the development of several apartment, townhouse, and small-lot single-family housing complexes, as well as the high-rise Idylwood Towers condominium, in the portion of Idylwood lying to the north of I-66. The area to the south of I-66 remains primarily large-lot single-family.

The Cherry Hill Farmhouse is a house museum in Falls Church, Virginia, United States. Built in 1845 in a Greek Revival architecture style, it belonged to wealthy farmer families until 1945, and in 1956 it became property of the City of Falls Church, which transformed it into a museum, as a historical building. Today, the Cherry Hill Farmhouse, along with other five such constructions in Falls Church City, is part of the National Register of Historic Places, as an important testimony of 19th century Victorian buildings in the area.

Falls Church is an independent city in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,658. Falls Church is included in the Washington metropolitan area. Taking its name from The Falls Church, an 18th-century Church of England (later Episcopal Church) parish, Falls Church gained township status within Fairfax County in 1875. In 1948, it was incorporated as the City of Falls Church, an independent city with county-level governance status although it is not a county.The city's corporate boundaries do not include all of the area historically known as Falls Church; these areas include portions of Seven Corners and other portions of the current Falls Church postal districts of Fairfax County, as well as the area of Arlington County known as East Falls Church, which was part of the town of Falls Church from 1875 to 1936. For statistical purposes, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Economic Analysis combines the City of Falls Church with Fairfax City and Fairfax County. At 2.11 square miles, Falls Church is the smallest incorporated municipality in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the smallest county-equivalent municipality in the United States.

Big Chimneys Park is located in Falls Church, Virginia. It marks the site of a log house built in 1699. It is located on Annandale Road about a block west of Maple Avenue. It is currently under renovation from which is said to last from December 2019 to Summer of 2020.
