Reeuwijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈreːuʋɛik] (listen)) is a former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The former municipality covers an area of 50.11 km2 (of which 11.89 km2 is water). Since January 1, 2011 Reeuwijk merged with Bodegraven to Bodegraven-Reeuwijk. The former municipality of Reeuwijk includes the communities of Driebruggen, Hogebrug, Langeweide, Middelburg, Oud-Reeuwijk, Oukoop, Platteweg, Randenburg, Reeuwijk-Brug, Reeuwijk-Dorp, Sluipwijk, Tempel, Waarder and Westeinde.

Platteweg is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the former municipality of Reeuwijk, and lies about 2.3 km east of Gouda. The statistical area "Platteweg", which also can include the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 180.

Vrijhoef en Kalverbroek is a former heerlijkheid (manor) and municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It was located about 3 km east of the city of Gouda, in the current municipality of Reeuwijk. The area of the former municipality is now almost completely covered by the lakes of the Reeuwijksche Plassen. According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, the hamlets of Vrijhoef and Kalverbroek (or Kalverenbroek) originally were two separate small manors, but they were merged into one. The manor was property of the nearby city of Gouda between 1438 and 1848.Between 1811 and 1817, the heerlijkheid became part of the municipality of Stein; after that, it was a separate municipality until January 1, 1827, when it again was merged with Stein. In 1822, the municipality had 47 inhabitants; around the middle of the 19th century, this had fallen to 24 inhabitants (7 of which in Kalverbroek), in an area of 0.52 km2 (0.20 sq mi).Nowadays, most of the area is covered by two lakes: lake "Vrijhoef" and lake "Kalverbroek". Both lakes are much larger than the heerlijkheid they are named after.

Reeuwijk-Brug is a village in the municipality of Bodegraven-Reeuwijk in the province of South Holland, the Netherlands. Reeuwijk-Brug is a stretched out peat excavation village from the Middle Ages which was later developed from Reeuwijk-Dorp. The Dutch Reformed church is a neoclassic aisleless church from 1863 which was built as a replacement of the 16th century church. The former town hall with bell tower was built in 1918.

Gouda Goverwelle is a railway station located on the Utrecht–Rotterdam railway in the Goverwelle area of Gouda in the Netherlands. The railway station, which opened in 1993, consists of two island platforms.

Gouda (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣʌudaː] (listen)) is a city and municipality in the west of the Netherlands, between Rotterdam and Utrecht, in the province of South Holland. Gouda has a population of 72,338 and is famous for its Gouda cheese, stroopwafels, many grachten, smoking pipes, and its 15th-century city hall. Its array of historic churches and other buildings makes it a very popular day trip destination. In the Middle Ages, a settlement was founded at the location of the current city by the Van der Goude family, who built a fortified castle alongside the banks of the Gouwe River, from which the family and the city took its name. The area, originally marshland, developed over the course of two centuries. By 1225, a canal was linked to the Gouwe and its estuary was transformed into a harbour. City rights were granted in 1272.

Gouda is a railway station in Gouda, Netherlands. The station opened on 21 May 1855 when the Nederlandsche Rhijnspoorweg-Maatschappij (Dutch Rijn Railway Company) opened the Utrecht–Rotterdam railway. The Gouda–Den Haag railway to The Hague was opened in 1870, and the connection to Alphen a/d Rijn in 1934. Trains running between Den Haag Centraal / Rotterdam Centraal and Utrecht Centraal call at the station, as well as the RijnGouweLijn connection to Alphen a/d Rijn. In November 1944, during World War II, the strategically located railway station was bombed by the Royal Air Force. The main building of the railway station was severely damaged; traces of the bombing are visible to this day on platforms 3 and 5. In 1948 a new building was constructed out of the remaining first floor of the old building. This was replaced by the current building in 1984.
