Zevenhoven

Blokland is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Liemeer, and lies about 12 km northeast of Alphen aan den Rijn.The area Blokland, in which the hamlet is located, used to be part of Uithoorn, but became part of Mijdrecht in 1811. The eastern half of the area, Polder Blokland, still is part of the municipality of De Ronde Venen in the province of Utrecht (which includes Mijdrecht); the western half of the area, part of Polder Zevenhoven, is part of Liemeer in the province South Holland. Confusingly, the hamlet itself lies in Polder Zevenhoven; the houses in Polder Blokland are part of the hamlets Kromme Mijdrecht and De Hoef.

Nieuwkoop (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈniukoːp] (listen)) is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality was enlarged on 1 January 2007, through the amalgamation of Liemeer and Ter Aar. The municipality now covers an area of 91.16 km2 (35.20 sq mi) of which 13.11 km2 (5.06 sq mi) is water. Its population was 29,151 in 2021. On May 3, 2008, the Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad published an article which stated that Nieuwkoop is the safest municipality of the Netherlands. Liemeer (Dutch: [liˈmeːr] (listen)) is a former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. It was merged into the municipality of Nieuwkoop on January 1, 2007. The municipality covered an area of 30.98 km² of which 0.76 km² is water. Its population was 6962 in November 2006. Liemeer consisted of the communities of Nieuwveen, Noorden, Vrouwenakker, and Zevenhoven. The former municipality of Liemeer was established as a renaming of Nieuwveen in 1994.

Noordeinde is a town in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Nieuwkoop, and lies about 10 km northeast of Alphen aan den Rijn. In 2001, the town of Noordeinde had 561 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.12 km2, and contained 196 residences.

Nieuwveen is a town in the Dutch province of South Holland, located close to the border of province North Holland, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) southwest of the city of Amsterdam. It is a part of the municipality of Nieuwkoop (until 2007: Liemeer), and lies about 9 kilometers (6 miles) northeast of Alphen aan den Rijn. In 2001, the town of Nieuwveen had 2806 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.73 km², and contained 931 residences. The statistical area "Nieuwveen", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 3630.Zevenhoven was added to the municipality of Nieuwveen in 1991, and the municipality was renamed Liemeer in 1994. The Jostiband Orchestra was founded here.

De Hoef is a village in the Dutch province of Utrecht. It is a part of the municipality of De Ronde Venen, and lies about 13 km northeast of Alphen aan den Rijn. Flowing through the village is a meandering river called "de Kromme Mijdrecht", the width of which varies between about 8 and 35 metres. On average, it is used by about two freight ships per day, but in summer the river is full of pleasure boats. It was first mentioned in 1639 as De Hoeff, and means "parcel of land". In 1840, it was home to 266 people. In 1921, the Roman Catholic Antonius van Padua Church was built.

Vrouwenakker is a village in the Netherlands, about 12 km southeast of Hoofddorp. It lies largely in the municipality of Nieuwkoop (formerly Liemeer), in the province of South Holland, but a small part lies in the municipality of Uithoorn, in North Holland. Until 1989 Vrouwenakker was part of the municipality of Mijdrecht, but was then rearranged into the municipality of Liemeer after the amalgamation of Mijdrecht and surrounding municipalities. The statistical area "Vrouwenakker", which contains the part of the village in South Holland and the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 310.

Zuideinde is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Nieuwkoop, and lies about 7 km east of Alphen aan den Rijn.

Papenveer is a small village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Nieuwkoop, 2 km north of Ter Aar. The name "Papenveer" means "Catholics' ferry". When the Catholic Church in Korteraar closed in 1822, churchgoers had to cross the river De Aar to go to the church in Langeraar. A ferry was opened that was free for Catholics; everyone else had to pay. The village of Papenveer grew around this ferry. Currently, there is a bridge, the Papenveerse Brug, at the location of the former ferry.

The Fort bij De Kwakel is a fort that is part of the Stelling van Amsterdam. It's located in the village of De Kwakel. It's one of four forts that form the linie Kudelstaart - Uithoorn. To the west is fort bij Kudelstaart, to the east is fort aan de Drecht and fort bij Uithoorn. The fort was built in 1890. The main building consists of 18 rooms. The house of the person who occupied the fort when there were no troops present is also still there. Some of the other buildings have been converted into houses.

Noorden is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Nieuwkoop, and lies about 10 km north of Woerden. In 2001, the town of Noorden had 975 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.18 km², and contained 337 residences. The statistical area "Noorden", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 1590.

The Kwakel is a village in the municipality of Uithoorn, North Holland, the Netherlands, near the border with South Holland. Having 3880 inhabitants in 2006, it's close to Kudelstaart and Aalsmeer.
