Malta Test Station, located in Malta, New York, is a former US Army fuel and explosives testing facility. It was established in 1945 and used to test rocket engines for the US Army's "Project Hermes", new fuels and explosives. It has also been used for atomic energy research.Malta test station has been used by various government agencies including the US Department of Defense, National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA), the US Department of Energy, and the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), it was operated by General Electric until 1972 when the Wright-Malta Corporation took over occupation and continued to test fuels and explosives for the US military and the US Department of Energy until 2005.The Wright Malta Corporation also worked on noise suppression systems, fuel cells, assisted technologically oriented start up businesses, waste-to-energy technology, liquid fuel propellants, and a number of other emerging technologies related to defense, energy, and product testing.The Malta Test Station was the site of a serious industrial accident in May 2004.The site and surrounding area has since been transformed into the Luther Forest Technology Campus, home to a new chip fabrication plant owned by GlobalFoundries. "Project Hermes" is commemorated by Hermes Road, one of the main access roads to the Technology Campus.It was listed as a Superfund site in 1987 and removed from the list following cleanup in 1999. It is being monitored by the US Environmental Protection agency to ensure that it is safe from possible chemical contamination.

The White Sulphur Spring Hotel was a hotel located on the east (that is, south) end of Saratoga Lake in the town of Stillwater, New York. The exact date of construction is unsettled, but the consensus supports 1874. The hotel was built "presumably for the Boston & Hoosac Tunnel Railroad, which later became a branch of the Boston & Maine Railroad." The hotel was named after a spring on the property. There had previously been a hotel in the vicinity which burned prior to 1859. About ten years later the hotel was leased by Thomas C. Luther, who purchased it in 1888 and whose family operated it until his death in 1937. In its heyday the hotel hosted "many famous celebrities of the early twentieth century—Lillian Russell, “Diamond Jim” Brady, Jack Dempsey, and wealthy financier Jay Gould among them." The facilities boasted a boxing ring used for training by Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney, and Angel Firpo. The hotel was renowned for its "fish and game suppers." Luther operated excursion boats on Saratoga Lake between the hotel and the "Trolley Park", later Kaydeross Park, and Moon's Lake House at the west (that is, north) end of the lake. The first boat was the Lady of the Lake, and the second was named the Alice, after his wife. Luther died in 1937 and the hotel was sold in 1940. It entered a period of decline, and was finally torn down in 1957 to facilitate the widening of New York State Route 9P. As of 2011 all that remains is the ruins of the spring house, but planning is underway to refurbish that as a pocket park.

The Anthony Kill, also called Tenandeho Creek, is a stream ("kill") in Saratoga County, New York approximately 8 miles (13 km) long. Its source is the east end of Round Lake, and it flows east into the Hudson River in Mechanicville. It drains an area of approximately 53 square miles (140 km2).The Native name "Ta-nen-da-ho-wa" has been translated "great point". In English the name was formerly "Anthony's Kill", or the "St. Anthony Kill," but there seems to be no record of its origin. The will of Robert Livingston, dated 1728, refers to "a creek commonly called Anthony's kill."

The Zim Smith Trail is the main multi-use trail of a network of trails in Saratoga County, New York. Extending twelve miles, it connects the cities and towns of Mechanicville, Halfmoon, Clifton Park, Round Lake Village, Malta and Ballston Spa. The trail is the route of the former Delaware & Hudson Railroad, originally the Rensselaer & Saratoga Railroad which was completed in 1836. It is the only trail in New York state to be designated a national recreation trail by the U.S. Department of Interior and National Park Service.The trail starts at Oak Street in Ballston Spa and runs through Malta's Shenantaha Creek Park. From there the trail passes under Interstate 87, the Adirondack Northway, and brings you through the village of Round Lake. From Round Lake Village the trail crosses over U.S. Route 9 and through a portion of the towns of Clifton Park and Halfmoon. As of 2020, it has now been extended to the city of Mechanicville. There are future plans to extend the trail north to Saratoga Springs. The Zim Smith Trail is named after Lt. Col. Zimri "Zim" Smith, USAF (Ret) who died in 1994. Zim was active in historic preservation in Saratoga Springs and founded Friends of Saratoga Battlefield.

Albany-Saratoga Speedway is a 0.36-mile dirt oval on U.S. Route 9 in Malta, New York. The track features racing on Friday nights, with five different weekly racing divisions, including DIRTcar modifieds, DIRTcar sportsman, limited sportsman, pro stocks and street stocks and also four cylinder racers. The speedway opened in 1965. The track held NASCAR Cup Series races in 1970 and 1971 which were both won by Richard Petty. From 1977 It was owned by the family of C. J. Richards, a founder of the Champlain Valley Racing Association. In 2011 it was put up for sale. After a period of uncertainty as to whether or not it would continue to be used for racing, it was purchased by the owners of Lebanon Valley Speedway in West Lebanon, New York.

Saratoga Lake is a lake in the eastern part of Saratoga County, New York. The lake is approximately 4.5 miles (7.2 km) long, about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) wide at its widest point, and about 95 feet (29 m) deep.The lake is bordered by the city of Saratoga Springs on the northwest, the town of Malta on the southwest, the town of Stillwater on the southeast, and the town of Saratoga on the northeast. New York State Route 9P runs along the southern end and eastern side of the lake, and then crosses its outlet in the north. The lake's major source is Kayaderosseras Creek, which enters the lake from the northwest, and the outlet is Fish Creek, which exits the lake from the north and flows into the Hudson River at Schuylerville.

Stillwater is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States, with a population of 8,287 at the 2010 census. The town contains a village called Stillwater. The town is at the eastern border of the county, southeast of Saratoga Springs and borders both Rensselaer and Washington counties. Saratoga National Historical Park is located within the town's limits. There is a hamlet in Minerva, Essex County, New York, with the same name which has nothing to do with this town.

Round Lake is a small lake in Saratoga County, New York that is located east of the village of Round Lake. Fish species present in the lake are northern pike, tiger muskie, largemouth bass, carp, pumpkinseed sunfish, and brown bullhead. There is a carry down access located on the west shore off US-9.Round Lake is a "kettle lake", formed at the end of the Wisconsin glaciation by a large block of ice left behind as the glacier melted. Outflow from the Iromohawk River deposited large amounts of debris around the block. Over time the river's course changed and the block melted, leaving the depression that became Round Lake.

WSSV (1160 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Mechanicville, New York, and serving the Capital District. The station broadcasts a classic hits radio format and is owned by Loud Media.By day, WSSV transmits with 5,000 watts, but because 1160 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for KSL in Salt Lake City, WSSV must greatly reduce power at night to 570 watts. It uses a non-directional antenna at all times. Programming is also heard on FM translator W227DW at 93.3 MHz in Saratoga Springs.

Dunning Street Cemetery is a historic rural cemetery located at Malta, Saratoga County, New York. The cemetery was established about 1775, and incorporated by the Dunning Street Cemetery Association in 1908. It is the final resting place of many important early Malta residents, including veterans of American Revolutionary War and includes a number of notable examples of 19th century local funerary art. It remains an active burial ground.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Wiggins-Collamer House is a historic home located at Malta in Saratoga County, New York. It was built about 1835 and is 1+1⁄2-story, five-by-two-bay, timber framed residence. It has a rectangular main block and 1-story rear wing. It represents a transitional Federal / Greek Revival period residence.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.As of December 2014, it has been restored and is the home of Collamer House Bike and Ski.

Malta is a town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The town is in the central part of the county and is south of Saratoga Springs. The population was 17,130 as of the 2020 census. Malta, along with Stillwater, is home to the Luther Forest Technology Campus, a 1,414-acre (572 ha) site designed for semiconductor and nanotechnology manufacturing and other innovative technologies. This campus includes GlobalFoundries, a company specializing in the semiconductor industry, which in April 2021 moved its headquarters from Silicon Valley, California to its semiconductor-chip manufacturing facility in Saratoga County near a section of the Adirondack Northway, in Malta.
