Port-en-Bessin-Huppain (French pronunciation: [pɔʁ ɑ̃ bɛsɛ̃ ypɛ̃] ) is a commune in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France. The commune contains the two towns of Port-en-Bessin and Huppain.

The Drôme is a 57.9 km long river in Normandy. Its source is on the border of the Manche and Calvados departments, at le Grand Cauville locality, near Saint-Martin-des-Besaces and joins the Aure, left bank at Maisons, downstream of Bayeux in the Bessin region. It is a sub-affluent of the Vire.

Longues Abbey (French: Abbaye de Longues, Abbaye Sainte-Marie de Longues) is a former Benedictine monastery in Longues-sur-Mer, Calvados, Normandy, France. It was founded in 1168 by Hugh Wac, of a family that owned Rubercy and other lands in the Cotentin, and was generously supported by gifts from the English and Norman nobility, and from King Henry II. The prominent families of Bacon of Molay and d'Argouges were particular benefactors of the abbey and several of them were buried there. From 1526 the abbey was in the hands of commendatory abbots. After a long period of decline, it was finally closed in 1781 under the last commendatory abbot, Emmanuel-Louis de Cugnac, bishop of Lectoure, when its revenues were given to the seminary at Bayeux.Numerous ruins and structures remain, which have been listed at various times as monuments historiques.

The Barons de Gratot (Argouges) resided at the Château de Gratot in Vaux-sur-Aure. According to the French Wikipedia a legend is that a Lord of Argouges met a Fairy woman who agreed to be his wife provided he never spoke the word "Mort" [death] which was considered profane language; however he spoke it and the Fairy vanished; this legend is associated with both Château de Gratot and the Château de Argouges at Argouges.

Tour-en-Bessin Airfield is a now-abandoned World War II military airfield near the commune of Tour-en-Bessin in the Normandy region of northern France. The United States Army Air Force established a temporary airfield on 12 July 1944, shortly after the Allied landings in France. It was constructed by the IX Engineering Command, 833rd and 846th Engineer Aviation Battalions.

Vaucelles (French pronunciation: [vosɛl] ) is a commune located to the west of Bayeux in the Calvados department in the Normandy region in northwestern France.

The Jardin botanique de Bayeux (2.6 hectares), also called the Jardin public de Bayeux, is a botanical garden and municipal park located at 53, route de Port-en-Bessin, Bayeux, Calvados, Normandy, France. It is open daily without charge. The garden site was formerly a meadow, bequeathed in 1851 by Charlemagne Jean-Delamare (1772–1858) as a garden for teaching horticulture, landscaped by Eugène Bühler (1822–1907), and in 1864 opened to the public. Many specimens planted from 1859 to 1864 remain. The most notable among its roughly 400 mature trees is a weeping European Beech that in 1932 was named a natural monument and in 2000 a remarkable tree of France.
