Blackburn High School is a public secondary school for both girls and boys in years 7 to 12 in Blackburn North, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, founded in 1956.The school has performed in prestigious music events such as The Victorian School Music Festival, The Royal South Street Competition and Generations in Jazz Competition in Mount Gambier, which they have won a number of times.

It covers the area bordered by Middleborough and Blackburn Roads, Gardiners Creek and the Belgrave/Lilydale railway line. It is a heavily treed area noted for its Laburnum bushes. It is in the local government area of the City of Whitehorse in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. The area is covered by strict planning controls. This has limited development and meant it has been able to retain a village feel, despite only being a short train ride from downtown Melbourne. It has a railway station, primary school, and post office, despite never being a suburb (technically, it is a "neighbourhood"). The Blackburn Creeklands park is an important community asset of Laburnum providing for both recreation and a wildlife corridor. In 1983, the then Nunawading Council the purchased the middle section of land that integrates and links Blacks Walk, Kalang and Furness Parks into today's long, linear park following Gardiners Creek from Middleborough to Blackburn Roads.

Morton Park is a football and cricket ground located on Central Road in the suburb of Blackburn, Victoria, Australia. The ground has two ovals, and is home to the local Blackburn football and cricket clubs.The top oval is where the senior football and cricket sides play, while the junior teams play most of their home matches on the bottom oval. The bottom oval has four cricket nets, and both grounds run north–south (for both football and cricket). The Blackburn Football Club's Auskick program is conducted on the top oval. Morton Park is located along the Belgrave and Lilydale railway lines, and is in close proximity to St Thomas the Apostle Primary School, Blackburn Lake Primary School, Blackburn Lake, Blackburn Railway Station and the Blackburn Library. A children's playground is also located to the south east of the ground.

Blackburn is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Whitehorse local government area. Blackburn recorded a population of 14,478 at the 2021 census.The origin of the name Blackburn is not certain, but may have been after an early settler or James Blackburn, who designed Yan Yean Reservoir. It lies within the City of Whitehorse, in Melbourne's eastern suburbs. Blackburn is bounded in the west by Middleborough Road, in the north by Springfield Road, in the east by an irregular line along streets to the east of Blackburn Lake Sanctuary - known as the Bellbird area - and in the south by Canterbury Road.

Kerrimuir is a locality within the suburb of Box Hill North in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is in the City of Whitehorse in Melbourne's eastern suburbs, approximately 15 kilometres from the CBD. The area is mostly referred to as Box Hill North. Kerrimuir has a small shopping strip, Kerrimuir Primary School, and Kerrimuir Neighbourhood House. Kerrimuir is named after Kirriemuir in Angus, Scotland.

Box Hill City Oval is an Australian rules football and cricket stadium located in Box Hill, Victoria, Australia. It is the home ground of the Box Hill Hawks Football Club which plays in the Victorian Football League, and the Box Hill Cricket Club which plays in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association. Box Hill City Oval was officially opened in 1937. The capacity of the venue is approximately 10,000 people. The largest official attendance at the ground was on 14 August 1983 when 6,200 people attended a VFA game between Box Hill and Oakleigh. In more recent times a crowd of 5,253 attended a VFL game between the Box Hill Hawks and Williamstown on 19 June 2005. On Melbourne Show Day 1953, the venue hosted a benefit game for the family of Ray Gibb, who had died in an accident in early September, between a combined Hawthorn–Richmond team and a Box Hill team augmented with VFL and VFA stars; the crowd at the time was estimated to be 6,000. The venue has two pavilions and terracing on the western wing, but no grandstand. It is currently the second-choice venue, behind North Port Oval, for VFL finals; it usually hosts finals only in the first week, but also hosted the preliminary finals in 2010 when the North Port Oval surface was unplayable due to rain and overuse.

Box Hill High School is a co-educational public secondary school located on the corner of Middleborough Road and Whitehorse Road in the eastern suburb of Box Hill in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. With an enrolment of 1380 students (as of 2021), it caters for students from years 7 through to 12. Year 10, 11 and 12 students undertake the VCE program. Its school zone includes the suburbs of Box Hill, Box Hill South, Burwood, Burwood East Blackburn, Blackburn North, and Blackburn South.

Blackburn Lake Sanctuary is an example of regenerated and remnant bushland in suburban Melbourne, Australia. It is located in the suburb of Blackburn. It is the most significant of the many parks in the City of Whitehorse, featuring areas of regenerated bushland and various walking tracks. In 1889 the Kooyongkoot Creek was dammed forming Blackburn Lake, at the centre of the sanctuary. The park has a diverse history revolving around the human usage of the lake and surrounding bushland, which by the 1960s left the lake in particular, very polluted. Although still polluted today, the late 20th century saw much regenerative planting and protection measures by local residents and community groups which has halted and in some places reduced pollution. Today, the park is home to a variety of local wildlife, including Pacific black ducks and herons. The sanctuary also features a variety of other birds, as well as possums and sugar gliders.

It is one of the seven hospitals that are governed within the Eastern Health network which provides health care services across the Eastern metropolitan area of Victoria.Established in 1956, Box Hill Hospital is a large acute hospital in the Melbourne suburb of Box Hill, which admits over 48,000 patients each year.The hospital provides a wide range of healthcare services including: emergency care, general and specialist medicine, intensive care, mental health services for children, adolescents and adults, maternity services, post-acute care programs, surgery, teaching and research. Box Hill Hospital is a university teaching hospital affiliated with Monash, La Trobe and Deakin Universities.[1] In 2016 Box Hill Hospital celebrated its 60th anniversary with a staff event.

Box Hill Cemetery is a cemetery located in Melbourne's eastern suburb of Box Hill, Victoria in Australia. It currently occupies 12.5 ha (31 acres). It is known as the resting place of notable figures from Melbourne and its heritage-registered Columbarium and Myer Memorial. Around 50,000 decedents have been interred since the cemetery was gazetted and commenced operations in 1873. The original 10-acre site was extended in 1886 and again in 1935.
