Ahrensfelde

Ahrensfelde Friedhof station is a railway station in the municipality of Ahrensfelde near the local cemetery, located in the Barnim district in Brandenburg, Germany.

Marzahn (German pronunciation: [maʁˈt͡saːn] (listen)) is a locality within the borough of Marzahn-Hellersdorf in Berlin. Berlin's 2001 administrative reform led to the former boroughs of Marzahn and Hellersdorf fusing into a single new borough. In the north the Marzahn locality includes the neighbourhoods of Bürknersfelde and Ahrensfelde, an overbuilt strip of land which once had belonged to the Brandenburg municipality of Ahrensfelde and was incorporated into Berlin in 1990.

Berlin-Marzahn Rastplatz was a camp set up for Romani people in the Berlin suburb of Marzahn by Nazi authorities. The Nazis used the Nuremberg Laws related to social misfits, vagabonds, and criminals as a means to intimidate and arrest Romani and Sinti Romani in Germany. At 4 a.m. on 16 July 1936, prior to the opening of the 1936 Berlin Olympics, police arrested 600 Romani in Greater Berlin and forcibly relocated them via 130 caravans to Marzahn, an open field in eastern Berlin sandwiched between a cemetery and a sewage dump. Upon arrival the men and women were separated and taken for medical inspection. From there, prisoners were either deemed fit to work or unfit. Those that were deemed unfit were sent to execution. Later, the prison would be surrounded by barbed wire and prisoners were subject to forced labour in armament plants. The camp also led to involuntary sterilization and loss of citizenship to the Romani prisoners as they were classified as aliens (non-Aryans).Eventually, the men from Marzahn would be sent to Sachsenhausen concentration camp (in 1938), and women and children were sent to Auschwitz (in 1943).

Hellersdorf (German pronunciation: [ˈhɛlɐsˌdɔʁf] (listen)) is a locality in the borough of Marzahn-Hellersdorf in Berlin. Between 1986 and Berlin's 2001 administrative reform, it was a borough in its own right, consisting of the current area of Hellersdorf as well as Kaulsdorf and Mahlsdorf.

The IGA Cable Car (German: IGA-Seilbahn, IGA 2017-Seilbahn, Seilbahn Berlin), also known as Berlin Cableway, IGA Ropeway or IGA Cableway, is a 1.58 km (0.98 mi)-long gondola lift line serving and crossing the Erholungspark Marzahn in Berlin, capital of Germany. Built for the Internationale Gartenausstellung 2017 (IGA 2017), an international horticultural exhibition, it is the first cableway opened in the German capital.
