The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Taipei (Latin: Archidioecesis Taipehensis) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Taiwan. Pope Pius XII erected it as the Apostolic Prefecture of Taipei on 30 December 1949. On 7 August 1952, it was elevated to an archdiocese, with the suffragan sees of Chiayi, Hsinchu, Hualien, Kaohsiung, Taichung, and Tainan. The archdiocese's cathedral is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. As the only metropolitan in Taiwan, it is the principal episcopal see of that country. Pope Francis accepted the mandatory resignation of John Hung Shan-chuan upon reaching retirement age and appointed Thomas Chung An-zu as Archbishop of Taipei on 23 May 2020. For many years, each person appointed Archbishop of Taipei has also been appointed as Apostolic Administrator of the Kinmen and Matsu islands, which form part of the Diocese of Xiamen.

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral (Chinese: 聖母無原罪主教座堂; pinyin: Shèngmǔwú Yuánzuì Zhǔjiào Zuòtáng) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. The Latin Rite church serves as the see of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Taipei (Archidioecesis Taipehensis; 天主教台北總教區) that was created by Pope Pius XII with the Bull "Gravia illa Christi".

The Taiwan New Cultural Movement Memorial Hall (traditional Chinese: 臺灣新文化運動紀念館; simplified Chinese: 台湾新文化运动纪念馆; pinyin: Táiwān Xīn Wénhuà Yùndòng Jìniànguǎn) is a memorial hall in Dadaocheng, Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan.

The Chiang Wei-shui Memorial Park (traditional Chinese: 蔣渭水紀念公園; simplified Chinese: 蒋渭水纪念公园; pinyin: Jiǎng Wèishuǐ Jìniàn Gōngyuánn) is a memorial park in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. The park commemorates Chiang Wei-shui.

Datong District or Tatung is a district of Taipei City, Taiwan. It is located between the Taipei Metro Red Line and eastern shore of the Tamsui River, and between Civic Boulevard and the Sun Yat-sen Freeway. The southern part of this area used to be the site of Twatutia, one of the first settlements in what is now Taipei and for a time the area's commercial center. Taipei's commercial center has since shifted south east to Zhongzheng, Da'an and Xinyi, and Datong is far less important economically. One of the last vestiges of Twatutia's commercial importance disappeared with the closing of the Chien-Cheng Circle in 2006. The north was the site of the village of Daronpon.

The Chen Dexing Ancestral Hall (traditional Chinese: 陳德星堂; simplified Chinese: 陈德星堂; pinyin: Chén Déxīng Táng) is an ancestral shrine in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Minsheng Road (Chinese: 民生路; pinyin: Mínshēng Lù; also called 8th Blvd.) is an east–west 4-lane to 10-lane arterial in Taipei, Taiwan connecting the Songshan District and Datong District of Taipei City. Minsheng Road is divided into east and west sections, with five smaller sections in the east section and only one is the west section.

Dadaocheng is an area in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. It was also known as Twatutia (a transliteration of the Taiwanese Hokkien Tōa-tiū-tiâⁿ), Daitōtei during Japanese rule, and Tataocheng (Mandarin) during the Kuomintang era. Dadaocheng was an important trading port in the 19th century, and is still a major historical tourist attraction and shopping area. The district is known for the local Taiwanese cuisine, the Chien-Cheng Circle, and also being the center of the February 28 Incident.

The Chien-Cheng Circle (Chinese: 建成圓環; pinyin: Jiànchéng Yuánhuán; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kiàn-sêng Îⁿ-khoân) or Taipei Circle (Chinese: 臺北圓環; pinyin: Táiběi Yuánhuán; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Tâi-pak Îⁿ-khoân), is a public plaza, on whose site was a former traffic circle, within which a former bustling landmark night market operated, in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan.

Shuanglian (Chinese: 雙連; pinyin: Shuānglián, formerly transliterated as Shuanglien Station until 2003) is a metro station in Taipei, Taiwan served by Taipei Metro. It is a transfer station of the Tamsui–Xinyi line and the Minsheng–Xizhi line.

The Tianma Tea House is a former tea house in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is the site where an enforcement officer from the Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Monopoly Bureau of the Taiwan Provincial Government accidentally shot a civilian on 27 February 1947. The incident led to the island-wide anti-government uprising by the Taiwanese people called the February 28 Incident and the implementation of White Terror in Taiwan from 1949 to 1987.The tea house building has long been on the route of the annual march to commemorate the February 28 Incident in Taipei by government officials or civilians.

The Taipei Metro Daqiaotou station (Chinese: 大橋頭站; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Toā-kiô-thâu Chām) is a station on the Xinzhuang Line located in Datong District, Taipei, Taiwan. It is the last station before the Luzhou Line diverges from the Xinzhuang Line. It is a planned terminus for the Shezi Light Rail Line.
