The Woo Ju Memorial Library (和如紀念圖書館) is a library in the grounds of Chuang Yen Monastery in Kent, Putnam County, New York, United States, run by the Buddhist Association of the United States (BAUS). It selects publications under the categories “Buddhism” and “Mind, Spirit, and Health” on a regular basis, so as to showcase the library collection. Loan, references, and library tour services are also provided.

The Boyds Corner Reservoir is a small reservoir in Putnam County, New York. It is in the town of Kent, New York, and is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of New York City. It is the northernmost reservoir in the Croton River watershed, but is not part of the New York City water supply system's Croton Watershed. and was formed by impounding the middle of the West Branch of the Croton River, submerging the village of Boyds Corner.

China Pond is a lake in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York. The pond has a surface area of 50 acres (20 ha).According to tradition, China Pond was named from an incident after a woman tossed chinaware into it in order to anger her drunk husband.

Mount Nimham is a 1,273-foot-tall (388 m) mountain in Hudson Highlands of New York. It is located northwest of Carmel in Putnam County. Nimham Mountain is named after Chief Daniel Nimham of the Wappinger tribe. In 1940, an 82-foot-6-inch-tall (25.15 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower ceased fire lookout operations at the end of the 1988 fire lookout season and was officially closed the next year. The tower appears on the National Historic Lookout Register and is still open to the public.

It is near Interstate 84, the Taconic State Parkway, and the Appalachian Trail. The former Shenandoah Service Area on the Taconic Parkway is named for this community.

Canopus Lake is a small lake within Clarence Fahnestock State Park in northern Putnam County, New York, United States. The lake is about 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) long and 120 metres (390 ft) wide at its widest point and 66 acres (27 ha) in area. Immediately to its east is Pelton Pond. The lake is on NY 301 just west of the Taconic State Parkway. The beach at the lake is used for swimming, boating, and fishing. In the winter, some cross-country skiers use the flat surface as a trail. The Appalachian Trail parallels the west side of the lake.
