The lake is about 2.4 kilometres (1.5 mi) long and 120 metres (390 ft) wide at its widest point and 66 acres (27 ha) in area. Immediately to its east is Pelton Pond. The lake is on NY 301 just west of the Taconic State Parkway. The beach at the lake is used for swimming, boating, and fishing. In the winter, some cross-country skiers use the flat surface as a trail. The Appalachian Trail parallels the west side of the lake.

There was formerly a town of Shenandoah in Oneida County, New York.Shenandoah is a community in East Fishkill, Dutchess County, New York. It is near Interstate 84, the Taconic State Parkway, and the Appalachian Trail. The former Shenandoah Service Area on the Taconic Parkway is named for this community.

The Boyds Corner Reservoir is a small reservoir in Putnam County, New York. It is in the town of Kent, New York, and is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of New York City. It is the northernmost reservoir in the Croton River watershed, but is not part of the New York City water supply system's Croton Watershed. and was formed by impounding the middle of the West Branch of the Croton River, submerging the village of Boyds Corner.

Mount Nimham is a 1,273-foot-tall (388 m) mountain in Hudson Highlands of New York. It is located northwest of Carmel in Putnam County. Nimham Mountain is named after Chief Daniel Nimham of the Wappinger tribe. In 1940, an 82-foot-6-inch-tall (25.15 m) steel fire lookout tower was built on the mountain. The tower ceased fire lookout operations at the end of the 1988 fire lookout season and was officially closed the next year. The tower appears on the National Historic Lookout Register and is still open to the public.

White Pond is a lake in Putnam County, in the U.S. state of New York. The pond has a surface area of 150 acres (61 ha).White Pond was named after the local White family.

The Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation is a Scout camp owned by the Greater Hudson Valley Council. It is 1,400 acres (5.7 km2) of mostly deciduous forest containing five lakes, bordered by Clarence Fahnestock State Park to the northeast. It has about forty campsites and nine cabins.In the summer months, it is used as one of three Greater Hudson Valley Council Cub Scout camps.
