Park Wood, Chilham

Molash is a civil parish and village in Kent, South East England. It contains a small part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) - the North Downs - and is on the A252 road between Canterbury, Ashford and Faversham. Each of these is centred 7 miles (11 km) away.

Bilting is a hamlet within the civil parish of Godmersham in the Ashford District of Kent, England. It stretches along the A28 at the foot of the Godmersham Downs, five miles northeast of Ashford town. At the 2011 Census, the population of the hamlet was included in the civil parish of Wye with Hinxhill Bilting Farm has been growing mushrooms since the 1930s, but now most of the farm has been converted to light industrial units and only a small number of speciality mushrooms are grown for local farmers' markets.

Godmersham is a village and civil parish in the Ashford District of Kent, England. The village straddles the Great Stour river where it cuts through the North Downs and its land is approximately one third woodland, all in the far east and west on the escarpment of the North Downs. It is six miles north-east of Ashford on the A28 road midway between Ashford and Canterbury in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with the North Downs Way and Pilgrims' Way traversing the parish. The village is divided in two by the floodplain of the Stour. The parish civil includes Godmersham village itself, and Bilting. It shares many of its activities with the neighbouring parish of Crundale, a smaller parish to the east.

Chilham is a mostly agricultural village and parish in the English county of Kent with a clustered settlement, Chilham village centre, in the northeast, and a smaller linear settlement, Shottenden. Well-preserved roads and mostly residential listed buildings in its centre have led to its use as a location in television and film.

Boughton Aluph (pronounced Bawton Alluf) is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Ashford in Kent, England, and is about 5 miles (8 km) north of Ashford on the A251 road. There are two villages within the parish: Boughton Aluph itself, and Boughton Lees. Boughton Corner is a small hamlet within the parish, further east on the A28 road. The civil parish shares its council with the smaller locality of Eastwell. The place-name 'Boughton Aluph' is first attested as 'Boltune' in the Domesday Book of 1086, as 'Boctune' in the related Domesday Monachorum, and as 'Botun Alou' in the Close Rolls of 1237. 'Boughton' means 'town or settlement where beeches grew'; the village was held by one Alulf in 1211-12, the name being a variant of the Old German 'Adalulf'.

All Saints' Church is a 13th-century pilgrims' Grade I listed church in Boughton Aluph near Ashford, Kent. It is part of the Church of England.Built in the thirteenth century by a man named Adulphus to replace a Saxon church, it was enlarged in the 14th century by Sir Thomas Aldon, one of Edward III of England's courtiers. The building was restored in 1878. On 27 November 1957, the church was placed on the Statutory List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest, as a Grade I building. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was extensively renovated, including the cleansing and restoration of the windows in 2009. The church continues to be an active centre for worship, and is part of the United Wye Benefice. Every June, the building is used to host the Stour Music Festival.

The Stour Music Festival is a festival of early music held in the Stour valley, Kent, England, founded by countertenor Alfred Deller in 1962. The principal venue is a medieval church, All Saints' Church, Boughton Aluph. The building has good acoustics and was used for some of Deller's recordings. After Deller's death in 1979, his son Mark Deller continued the festival, and celebrated its 50th birthday alongside his father's centenary in 2012. In 2020 Robert Hollingworth, known for his work with I Fagiolini, took over as festival director.

Olantigh is an English house 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Wye in the civil parish of Wye with Hinxhill.The garden terraces and towered stable block were Grade II listed in 1989 and extend to 20 acres (8.1 ha), beside the Great Stour river. Selling railway station is on the Dover branch of the Chatham Main Line in England, serving the village of Selling, Kent. It is 55 miles 18 chains (88.9 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Faversham and Canterbury East. The station and all trains that serve the station are operated by Southeastern. The station and the line on which it is located were built by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway. Formerly an excellent example of country station architecture, it was destroyed by fire from unknown cause in the early 1990s, shortly before it was to be awarded listed building status. The signal box at the station end of the 'up' (London-bound) platform was closed and dismantled shortly afterwards. The box can today be seen in use at Eythorne railway station on the East Kent Railway. The station was a filming location in the 1944 film A Canterbury Tale, where it was called "Chillingbourne". Charles Hawtrey (of the Carry On films) played the porter. The station now has few facilities.
