Island 88, formerly known as Island Plaza, is a shopping mall within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the suburb of Tanjong Tokong, the 500,000 sq ft (46,000 m2) retail complex was opened in 1995, one of the first shopping malls in the city. After facing a decline due to the emergence of newer shopping malls throughout George Town, it was rebranded as Island 88 in 2023 by Hong Kong real estate tycoon Paul Law.

City Residence is a mixed-use complex within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Straits Quay Retail Marina is a shopping mall-cum-marina in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Seri Tanjung Pinang, a newly developed township that sits on reclaimed land within the George Town suburb of Tanjung Tokong. Opened in 2010, the seaside mall also consists of a marina designed for small recreational vessels, as well as a convention centre.Royal Selangor, a Malaysian pewter manufacturer, maintains an outlet within the mall. There is also a Performing Arts Centre within the mall. In addition, Straits Quay includes luxurious serviced apartments called The Suites @ Straits Quay, which are managed by the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, a colonial seaside hotel located within the heart of George Town.

Tanjung Tokong is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northeastern coast of Penang Island, next to Pulau Tikus and 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre. Over the recent decades, the former fishing village has been transformed into an upper class residential suburb of George Town, with high-rises such as Straits Quay lining the coast.The area had already been inhabited for decades prior to Captain Francis Light's founding of Penang Island in 1786. Tanjung Tokong was believed to be the site of the first Chinese settlement on Penang Island. Up until the 1970s, Tanjung Tokong was a fishing village; rapid urbanisation soon followed, with residential high-rises now lining the coast.At present, the reclamation of land is ongoing off the shores of Tanjung Tokong, creating a new township – Seri Tanjung Pinang.Due to its location along the northern coast of Penang Island, Tanjung Tokong was hard hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Seri Tanjung Pinang is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. The neighbourhood, located within the Tanjung Tokong suburb, lies 4.5 km (2.8 mi) northwest of the city centre and was created on land reclaimed in the 1990s.The ongoing reclamation of Seri Tanjung Pinang is expected to be completed by end of 2027. At the time of writing, Seri Tanjung Pinang is home to a handful of retail complexes, most notably Straits Quay and a Lotus's outlet.

Dalat International School is an international day and boarding school in Penang, Malaysia. Founded as a boarding school for children of missionaries in Southeast Asia, it has grown into an international school with a diverse student population. As of the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, there are 650 students representing 28 different countries. It is one of eleven schools on the island and is the only one offering an American curriculum.

Tikus Island (Rat Island) is an islet off the northern coast of Penang Island in the State of Penang, Malaysia. Located nearly 770 m (0.48 mi) off Tanjung Bungah, a suburb of the city of George Town, this uninhabited outcrop is now home to a solar-powered lighthouse. This active lighthouse marks the northern entrance to the Penang Strait and hence, the Port of Penang.Also situated on the islet is a grave belonging to a local Muslim saint. The grave is still visited by local Penangites of various faiths, who occasionally come to seek blessings irrespective of their beliefs.

Tenby Schools Penang is an international school in Penang, Malaysia, and part of the Tenby International School family. It offers both British curriculum (IGCSE) and Malaysian curriculum (UPSR, SPM) in the same campus for children aged 3–18 years old.It was started by the Augustin family as Sekolah Sri Inai in the early 1980s as a Malaysian private school. In 2007 it integrated a pre-existing Malaysian private school with a Tenby international school in one campus. In 2011 the school was moved to a new campus in Tanjung Bungah, Penang. The capacity of the new site was 750 children.Tenby International School also offers A-level studies from year 2013 onwards.

Tanjung Bungah (also spelt as Tanjong Bungah) is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northern coast of Penang Island between Batu Ferringhi and Tanjung Tokong, and about 6.5 km (4.0 mi) northwest of the city centre. Tanjung Bungah is well known as a beach destination, with several hotels and resorts lining the beaches within the area. Decades of urbanisation has also led to the mushrooming of residential high-rises at Tanjung Bungah. In addition, the suburb is home to a significant expatriate population; foreigners made up 5.7% of Tanjung Bungah's population as of 2010. A number of Royal Australian Air Force servicemen used to reside here while being stationed in Penang in the 1960s and 70s.Due to its location along the northern coast of Penang Island, Tanjung Bungah was hard hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Sunrise Tower is an 18-storey condominium within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Gurney Drive within the city's Central Business District (CBD), the building was completed in 1977, becoming the first condominium along the seafronting street and the tallest building in the city prior to the completion of Komtar.
