Tanjung Bungah (also spelt as Tanjong Bungah) is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northern coast of Penang Island between Batu Ferringhi and Tanjung Tokong, and about 6.5 km (4.0 mi) northwest of the city centre. Tanjung Bungah is well known as a beach destination, with several hotels and resorts lining the beaches within the area. Decades of urbanisation has also led to the mushrooming of residential high-rises at Tanjung Bungah. In addition, the suburb is home to a significant expatriate population; foreigners made up 5.7% of Tanjung Bungah's population as of 2010. A number of Royal Australian Air Force servicemen used to reside here while being stationed in Penang in the 1960s and 70s.Due to its location along the northern coast of Penang Island, Tanjung Bungah was hard hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Dalat International School is an international day and boarding school in Penang, Malaysia. Founded as a boarding school for children of missionaries in Southeast Asia, it has grown into an international school with a diverse student population. As of the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, there are 650 students representing 28 different countries. The Penang Botanic Gardens, (Malay: Taman Kebun Bunga;Tamil :பினாங்கு தாவரவியல் பூங்கா,Piṉāṅku Tāvaraviyal pūṅkā) also known as the "Waterfall Gardens" because of the cascading waterfall nearby, is a botanic garden situated on Jalan Air Terjun (Waterfall Road) in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The original gardens were established in 1884 from an old quarry site, under the supervision of Charles Curtis, who was the first superintendent, making it one of the oldest botanic gardens built by the British in a colonial settlement. Penang Botanic Gardens is part of Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve, recognized by UNESCO as the third Biosphere Reserve in Malaysia listed in the World Network of Biosphere Reserve (WNBR).

Mount Erskine is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. This hilly neighbourhood, 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre, is situated between the Tanjung Tokong and Pulau Tikus suburbs to the north and to the south respectively. Notable for its large Chinese cemeteries established by the Cantonese, Teochew and Hokkien communities on Penang Island, the neighbourhood witnesses a considerable increase in activity during the annual Qingming Festival.

Tikus Island (Rat Island) is an islet off the northern coast of Penang Island in the State of Penang, Malaysia. Located nearly 770 m (0.48 mi) off Tanjung Bungah, a suburb of the city of George Town, this uninhabited outcrop is now home to a solar-powered lighthouse. This active lighthouse marks the northern entrance to the Penang Strait and hence, the Port of Penang.Also situated on the islet is a grave belonging to a local Muslim saint. The grave is still visited by local Penangites of various faiths, who occasionally come to seek blessings irrespective of their beliefs.

The Penang Hill cable car is a gondola lift under construction in George Town, the capital city of the Malaysian state of Penang. The 2.73 km (1.70 mi) line will connect the Penang Botanic Gardens to the peak of Penang Hill and is intended to complement the existing Penang Hill Railway. The cable car line is projected to serve a capacity of 1,000 passengers per hour on each direction. Construction commenced in 2024 and is projected to be completed by 2026.

City Residence is a mixed-use complex within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Island 88, formerly known as Island Plaza, is a shopping mall within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the suburb of Tanjong Tokong, the 500,000 sq ft (46,000 m2) retail complex was opened in 1995, one of the first shopping malls in the city. After facing a decline due to the emergence of newer shopping malls throughout George Town, it was rebranded as Island 88 in 2023 by Hong Kong real estate tycoon Paul Law.

Tanjung Tokong is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northeastern coast of Penang Island, next to Pulau Tikus and 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre. Over the recent decades, the former fishing village has been transformed into an upper class residential suburb of George Town, with high-rises such as Straits Quay lining the coast.The area had already been inhabited for decades prior to Captain Francis Light's founding of Penang Island in 1786. Tanjung Tokong was believed to be the site of the first Chinese settlement on Penang Island. Up until the 1970s, Tanjung Tokong was a fishing village; rapid urbanisation soon followed, with residential high-rises now lining the coast.At present, the reclamation of land is ongoing off the shores of Tanjung Tokong, creating a new township – Seri Tanjung Pinang.Due to its location along the northern coast of Penang Island, Tanjung Tokong was hard hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
