Seri Tanjung Pinang

Tanjung Tokong is a suburb of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. It is located along the northeastern coast of Penang Island, next to Pulau Tikus and 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre. Over the recent decades, the former fishing village has been transformed into an upper class residential suburb of George Town, with high-rises such as Straits Quay lining the coast.The area had already been inhabited for decades prior to Captain Francis Light's founding of Penang Island in 1786. Tanjung Tokong was believed to be the site of the first Chinese settlement on Penang Island. Up until the 1970s, Tanjung Tokong was a fishing village; rapid urbanisation soon followed, with residential high-rises now lining the coast.At present, the reclamation of land is ongoing off the shores of Tanjung Tokong, creating a new township – Seri Tanjung Pinang.Due to its location along the northern coast of Penang Island, Tanjung Tokong was hard hit by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

Island 88, formerly known as Island Plaza, is a shopping mall within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the suburb of Tanjong Tokong, the 500,000 sq ft (46,000 m2) retail complex was opened in 1995, one of the first shopping malls in the city. After facing a decline due to the emergence of newer shopping malls throughout George Town, it was rebranded as Island 88 in 2023 by Hong Kong real estate tycoon Paul Law.

City Residence is a mixed-use complex within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at the suburb of Tanjong Tokong, the development consists of twin residential towers and a three-storey shopping mall named City Junction that forms the podium. Mount Erskine is a residential neighbourhood within the city of George Town in Penang, Malaysia. This hilly neighbourhood, 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre, is situated between the Tanjung Tokong and Pulau Tikus suburbs to the north and to the south respectively. Andaman Island is a 760-acre (3.1 km2) man-made islet off the northeastern coast of Penang Island in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located just 760 m (2,490 ft) off the shoreline of Seri Tanjong Pinang within the city of George Town, it is being reclaimed by local developer Eastern and Oriental Berhad as an integrated mixed-use precinct with a gross development value of RM17 billion. Phase 1 of the reclamation project was completed in 2019, paving the way for the construction of The Meg and Arica, the first residential properties on the islet. As of 2023, the islet is connected to Seri Tanjong Pinang via a road bridge, while a second bridge between the islet and Gurney Drive is under construction.

Sunrise Tower is an 18-storey condominium within George Town in the Malaysian state of Penang. Located at Gurney Drive within the city's Central Business District (CBD), the building was completed in 1977, becoming the first condominium along the seafronting street and the tallest building in the city prior to the completion of Komtar.

Straits Quay Retail Marina is a shopping mall-cum-marina in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. It is located at Seri Tanjung Pinang, a newly developed township that sits on reclaimed land within the George Town suburb of Tanjung Tokong. Opened in 2010, the seaside mall also consists of a marina designed for small recreational vessels, as well as a convention centre.Royal Selangor, a Malaysian pewter manufacturer, maintains an outlet within the mall. There is also a Performing Arts Centre within the mall. In addition, Straits Quay includes luxurious serviced apartments called The Suites @ Straits Quay, which are managed by the Eastern & Oriental Hotel, a colonial seaside hotel located within the heart of George Town.

Gurney Plaza(Malay: Pusat Beli Belah Plaza GurneyTamil: கர்னி பிளாசா வணிக வளாகம்) is a shopping mall in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Located at Gurney Drive, it was opened in November 2001 and is now managed by CapitaMalls Asia, a subsidiary of the Singapore-based CapitaLand. Its main anchor tenant is Parkson, while Golden Screen Cinemas operates the largest multiplex in northern Malaysia within the top floor of the mall.Gurney Plaza contains 380 shop lots spread out over nine floors which include 2 basement car park and 2 multi-storey car park. The mall has attracted various established international brands, making it one of the major retail and entertainment centres within Penang.

Gurney Wharf is a planned seafront park, with land for this purpose currently being reclaimed off Gurney Drive in George Town, Penang. Intended as a "new iconic waterfront destination for Penang", Phase 1 of Gurney Wharf is scheduled for completion by 2018.Upon the expected completion of Gurney Wharf by August 2021, the 24.28-hectare seafront park will comprise four distinct recreational areas - a beach, a coastal grove, a water garden, and a seaside retail food and beverages (F&B) area.

The Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital is a non-profit cancer-dedicated hospital near George Town in Penang, Malaysia. Located at the Tanjung Bungah suburb, the 40-bed hospital was founded in 1976 and offers specialist treatments for cancer patients, including tomotherapy, radiosurgery and chemotherapy.

Gurney Drive (Malay: Persiaran Gurney, Chinese: 新关仔角 / 新關仔角; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: sin kuan-á-kak, Tamil: கர்பால் சிங் டிரைவ்) is a popular seafront promenade within George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The road is also famous for the street cuisine at the seafront's hawker centre and has been listed as one of the 25 best streets worldwide to visit by the Australian travel magazine, The Traveler. In addition, Gurney Drive has become part of George Town's second Central Business District due to the mushrooming of skyscrapers and shopping malls.Previously known as the New Coast Road, it was completed in 1936 along what was then known as the North Beach and renamed in 1952 after Sir Henry Gurney, British High Commissioner in Malaya (1950–1951), who was assassinated by the guerrillas of the Malayan Communist Party during the Malayan Emergency.Over the years, the beaches along Gurney Drive have largely been lost to coastal erosion. More recently, a land reclamation project at nearby Tanjung Tokong has reversed the erosion, leading to the accretion of silt and mud off Gurney Drive. Mangrove saplings have sprouted in the mud, which is now frequented by egrets and other birds as well as mudskippers. As of 2016, the shoreline off Gurney Drive is being reclaimed for the purpose of creating a public recreational park named Gurney Wharf.

Gurney Paragon is a residential and retail complex in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. Situated at Gurney Drive, it was launched in 2013, and consists of a nine-storey shopping mall, two condominiums and an office block. To date, the twin condominium towers, each measuring a height of 155 m (509 ft), are the third tallest skyscrapers in Penang.The shopping mall's main anchor tenant is TGV Cinemas, which operates a multiplex at its top floor. The mall also contains over 200 outlets spread out over nine floors, including a number of international brands. There are sufficient parking bays at Gurney Paragon to cater its visitors (Gurney Paragon parking rate).
