Puchheim is divided into two parts: the old and rural part called Puchheim-Ort and the new part of Puchheim (Puchheim-Bahnhof) that was founded when the Munich S-Bahn was built. Before that there was one of the first civil airfields in Bavaria, which was later used as a prisoner of war camp during World War I. The area around the camp was dried up by workers from the POW camp, so that houses could be built. The old part of Puchheim is even older than Munich.

Olching Bird Park (German: Birdpark Olching) is located in Olching, 20 km north west of Munich. On an area of 20,000 m2, a wide range of different species can be found: from the little tiger finch to cranes, storks and many brightly coloured parrots. The amazing area of the so-called Amper river is a particular feature that distinguishes the park from others. All aviaries have natural plants which underline the naturalness of the park. A main objective of the park association is the breeding of native birds and a large zone is defined as a retreat for the local wildlife. For the visitors there is also a typical Bavarian beer garden in the park as well as a playground for younger guests. The operator of the bird park is the Bird Lover's Association of Olching.

The Gegenpoint Castle Site (German: Burgstall Gegenpoint, also spelled Geggenpoint or Kekenpoint, and even earlier spelled Kekkepiunt, Kekinpiunt or Geckenpoint) is the burgstall or site of a ruined spur castle from the high Middle Ages, which stood about 2 km to the east of Fürstenfeld Abbey in Fürstenfeldbruck, Bavaria, Germany. It was abandoned in the 15th century and its walls were plundered for building materials. Today, only the foundations are visible.
