Vellore Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 39 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in the present state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. Its Tamil Nadu Parliamentary Constituency number is 8. The 2019 lok sabha election was scheduled to be held on 18 April in this constituency but the President of India rescinded polling on 16 April after Election Commission of India sent a report stating recovery of huge amount of unaccounted cash allegedly from Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate's office.

Mettukulam Village is situated in the fort city of Vellore, India. The village lies between Vellore (10 km) and Chitoor (26 km) and the temple towns of Thiruvannamalai and Tirupati. Nearby are several colleges, ancient temples and the Christian Medical College and Hospital.

Bakhiyath Salihath Arabic College (جامعة الباقيات الصالحات) or Jami'ah al Baqiyath as Salihat is an Islamic college in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India established in 1857. The madrasa was founded by Aa'la Hazrat Abdul Wahhab. He was one of the students of Bahrul uloom Saahibul Karaamaat Ash Sheikh Meer Amjad Ibrahim Chinna Hazrat, the second of Madurai Maqbara hazrats in Madurai. According to Viji and Yasir, "This Madrasa has acquired the status of a university. In view of pioneering role played by this institution in various foreign countries by teaching their citizens his seat of learning is rightly addressed as Islamic University and more appropriately as Umm ul_Madaris. Though the syllabus followed here is the universally recognized Nizamiah syllabus: it also provides exposure to English language as well as to Urdu (for non-Urdu speakers) keeping in view the demands of the time. This Madrasa has courses of graduation (Maulvi ‘Aalim) and post-graduation (Maulvi Fadhil) level. In addition, there are departments that offer specializations in Tasnif, Ta’lif, Tahqeeq and Tarjama (writing/editing/research and translation). Alumni of this institution have established haundreds of academic institutions not only within the country but also in alien lands. A few of them have acquired the status of universities." The trust of the Madrasa played a vital role in forming the strong Islamic institution in South India.

Ponnammangalam is a village that is located in the administrative division of Arcot taluk in Vellore district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

St. John’s Church is located inside the Vellore Fort, Tamil Nadu State, India. The Church was raised in 1846 by the Government of Madras for the officers and men of the East India Company military station. The church is called after St. John the Evangelist. However, the church was never officially consecrated and hence not officially named as St. John’s Church. St. John's Church is the oldest standing church in the Vellore Diocese. The church stands inside the Vellore Fort, which is under the control of the Archaeological Survey of India, along with the Vijaynagar period Jalakanteswarar Temple, Tippu Mahal, Hyder Mahal, Candy Mahal, Badhusha Mahal and the Begum Mahal.

Vellore Fort is a large 16th-century fort situated in heart of the Vellore city, in the state of Tamil Nadu, India built by the Emperors of Vijayanagara. The fort was at one time the imperial capital of the Aravidu Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire. The fort is known for its grand ramparts, wide moat and robust masonry. The fort's ownership passed from Emperors of Vijayanagara, to the Turko-Persian Bijapur sultans, to the Marathas, to the Carnatic Nawabs and finally to the British, who held the fort until India gained independence. The Indian government maintains the fort with the Archaeological Department. During British rule, the Tipu Sultan's family and the last King of Sri Lanka, Sri Vikrama Rajasinha were held as prisoners in the fort. It is also a witness to the massacre of the Vijayanagara royal family of Sriranga Raya. The fort houses the Jalakanteswarar Hindu temple, the Christian St. John's Church and a Muslim mosque, of which the Jalakanteswarar Temple is famous for its magnificent carvings. The first significant military rebellion against British rule, the Vellore Mutiny, erupted at this fort in 1806.Vellore Fort is one of the most popular tourist destinations for both domestic and international visitors to Tamil Nadu.

Voorhees College is a college in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1898 as Arcot Mission College, when Arcot Mission High School was amalgamated to the University of Madras. The college is named after its benefactors, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Elizabeth Voorhees of the Reformed Church in America. The College was earlier known as Ralph and Elizabeth Voorhees college when it was a Co-educational institution. In the late sixties towards the end of the tenure of Dr. A.N. Gopal, the then principal, the college stopped admitting women students and dropped the names Ralph and Elizabeth and became known as Voorhees College. The college began offering master's level courses in 1975. The College is managed by the Church of South India, Diocese of Vellore. The Chairman of the College is the Bishop of Vellore, and the motto is "In vain without God." The college is affiliated to Thiruvalluvar University, Vellore and it is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, with an A grade (2005).

This institute includes a network of primary, secondary and tertiary care hospitals.The institute, constituent college is affiliated with the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. Founded in 1900 by an American missionary, Dr Ida S.
