The Maiden Lane Estate is a housing estate in Camden, located beside York Way and several railway lines. It was designed by the architects George Benson and Alan Forsyth, and built between 1979 and 1982.

York Way (part of the A5200) is a major road in the London Borough of Islington, running north for one mile from the junction of Pentonville Road and Euston Road, adjacent to King's Cross railway station towards Kentish Town and Holloway. At its northern end the road becomes Brecknock Road. For its entire length York Way forms the boundary between the London Boroughs of Islington and Camden.

The Metropolitan Cattle Market (later Caledonian Market), just off the Caledonian Road in the parish of Islington (now the London Borough of Islington) was built by the City of London Corporation and was opened in June 1855 by Prince Albert. The market was supplementary to the meat market at Smithfield and was established to remove the difficulty of managing live cattle at that latter site.

Copenhagen House Grounds in Islington, London also known as the 'Old Cope' was opened 24 September 1850 and was the leading venue for professional athletics until it closed in December 1853 after severe storm damage. Initially consisting of a 200-yard straight, an oval gravel track was added, opening on 17 March 1851, thought to be one third of a mile in length, enclosing a cricket pitch. One of the first world records for the mile was set there; Charles Westhall in 4:28 on 26 July 1852. Whilst much of the site has been built upon, Caledonian Park is a remnant.

Cattle Market Ground was a cricket ground in Islington, London (formerly Middlesex). The first recorded match on the ground was in 1863, when Middlesex Clubs played a United England Eleven.In 1864, the ground held its first first-class match when Middlesex played Sussex. From 1864 to 1868, the ground played host to 16 first-class matches involving Middlesex, the last of which saw them play Surrey. The ground also held first-class matches for the South in 1864, Gentlemen of Middlesex in 1865 and the Gentlemen of the South in 1867.The last recorded match held on the ground came in September 1868 when the Gentlemen of Middlesex played the Australian Aboriginals during their tour of England. The ground closed when the owner of the hotel whose pitch it was decided to sell the land for development. The hotel itself was situated next to the Metropolitan Cattle Market, although its exact placing is unknown.

The Caledonian Park Clock Tower, Islington, London is the major remaining element of the Metropolitan Cattle Market, opened in 1855 by the City of London Corporation as a replacement for the market at Smithfield. The complex was designed by the Corporation's Surveyor, James Bunstone Bunning, and was laid out on a site of 30 acres (0.12 km2) that originally formed the estate of a mansion, Copenhagen House. The market consisted of the central clock tower, enclosures for animals, slaughterhouses, sales arenas, administrative offices and four public houses, one standing at each corner of the complex. The cattle market was closed in the 1930s, and the meat market in the 1960s, with much of the site being redeveloped for council housing. The clock tower, two stretches of railings and three of the four pubs are all that now remain. After suffering neglect and vandalism in the late 20th century, the clock tower was restored between 2016–2019 and is now open to the public. It is a Grade II* listed building, the railings and pubs having separate Grade II listings.

The Keskidee Centre, or Keskidee Arts Centre, was Britain's first arts centre for the black community, founded in 1971. Located at Gifford Street in Islington, near King's Cross in London, it was a project initiated by Guyanese architect and cultural activist Oscar Abrams (1937–1996) to provide under one roof self-help and cultural activities for the local West Indian community. Its purpose-built facilities included a library, gallery, studios, theatre and restaurant. The Keskidee became a hub for African and Afro-Caribbean politics and arts, and for years was the only place in London that produced black theatre, developing its own vibrant drama company and attracting both a black and white audience.

York Road is a disused station on the London Underground in Kings Cross, London, England, located between King's Cross and Caledonian Road, with its entrance at the corner of York Road (now York Way) and Bingfield Street. It opened in 1906 and was one of the original stations on the Great Northern, Piccadilly and Brompton Railway (GNP&BR), the precursor to today's Piccadilly line. The surface buildings were constructed in the distinctive style of architect Leslie Green, and were connected to the platforms by a single lift shaft containing two lifts. Traffic levels were never high, and the station closed in 1932, on the same day that the northern extension of the Piccadilly Line from Finsbury Park to Arnos Grove opened.

Bingfield Park is a small park area located in the Caledonian Ward and parish of St. Michaels area of the London Borough of Islington. The Park has existed since about 1970 when the Beaconsfield Buildings (built by the Victoria Dwellings Association — Patron Benjamin Disraeli, British prime minister, the Earl of Beaconsfield.) were purchased by the Greater London Council and demolished. These Buildings were preceded by small holdings and cottages and known as Strouds Vale and bordered on to the areas known as Sutton Gardens, Belle Isle and Copenhagen fields. Also demolished was The Clarance Terrace, a red bricked six storey high terrace of apartments fronting on to Rufford Street (formerly Almina Road). At the western and northern perimeters, the Park joins Rufford Street; at the south perimeter it meets Bingfield Street. It is close to the disused York Road Underground station and York Way. The Park has an all-weather sports pitch and an adventure playground for children at its eastern end. The Park is a popular recreational area for people living in the locality.

Kings Cross Top Shed was a large steam locomotive maintenance and stabling depot just north of King's Cross railway station on the far side of Regent's Canal.

Market Estate is a public housing estate consisting of 271 flats and maisonettes situated to the north of Caledonian Park in the London Borough of Islington. It is named after the Metropolitan Cattle Market which operated on the site until the 1960s. After slaughter the carcasses of cattle and sheep were sent by underground trains to Smithfield Market to be traded. Three of the six blocks that make up the estate are named after breeds of animal that were traded in the market: Tamworth (pigs), Kerry (cows) and Southdown (sheep). The remaining three blocks are called the Clock tower blocks after the market's clock tower which still stands in Caledonian Park. This contains a working clock used as a prototype for the mechanism of Big Ben.

St Pancras Cambridge Street Diesel Sidings was a stabling point located in Kings Cross, London, England. The depot was situated on the Midland Main Line and was near St Pancras station. The depot code was PA.
