St. John's Lutheran College-Baden Hall

St. John's College was a two-year college located in Winfield, Kansas, and was operated by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). The school began operation in 1893 under the English Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri and Other States and ceased operation in 1986, after over 9,000 students had been through its programs.The college facilities now make up what is called "Baden Square", named to honor the college founder John Peter Baden. The City of Winfield uses the facilities for civic functions and municipal activities. Mundinger Hall, Rehwinkel Hall, and Baden Hall are each individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The St. John's Lutheran College Girls Dormitory, also known as Mundinger Hall, is a historic building on the campus of the former St. John's College at 6th Ave and Gary Street in Winfield, Kansas. The main section of the Late Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1949–50. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.It was designed by architects Overend & Boucher. The main section is 186 by 46 feet (57 m × 14 m) in plan.

The Wilmer House, located at 1310 E. 9th Ave. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1917. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.It is a three-story side-gabled frame house. The property includes a single-car garage built in about 1917.It was home of physician Dr. F.M. Wilmer (b.1871), who came to Winfield in 1903 and served as an eye, ear, nose and throat doctor for 50 years. He also was active in the community, including by organizing an annual Fourth of July parade.

The Grace Methodist Episcopal Church in Winfield, Kansas is a historic church which was built in 1917. It has been known as Grace United Methodist Church since the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church merged in 1968. It is located at 320 College Street in Winfield. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.It is a large three-story church designed by Ernest Olaf Brostrom in Collegiate Gothic style. Its main portion is 69 by 48 feet (21 m × 15 m) in plan. A two-story education wing was added in 1959.

Southwestern College is a private Methodist college in Winfield, Kansas. It was founded in 1885 as Southwest Kansas Conference College and graduated its first class of three in June 1889. The name of the school was changed to its current form in 1909.

Richard L. Jantz Stadium (formerly "Sonner Stadium") is a sport stadium in Winfield, Kansas, United States. The facility is primarily used by the Southwestern College Moundbuilders football and track & field teams. The grass field is named "Art Kahler Field" from prominent Southwestern alum Art Kahler and the surrounding track is named "Monypenny Track" in honor of alum William Monypenny.

Winfield High School (WHS), previously Winfield Junior-Senior High School, is a senior high school in Winfield, Kansas. It is a part of Winfield Unified School District 465. The school first opened prior to the start of the 20th Century in the former Central School, which received an addition in 1880. A new building, with three stories, and having an auditorium and gymnasium, opened in 1910; this facility, made of brick, was colored red. The new building began hosting assemblies of area schools and allowed for increased programming.In 1911 the school newspaper, The Oracle, debuted. A bond proposal for an addition known as a "manual high school" building passed in 1916. In 1951 an industrial arts building opened to the west of the 1910 facility. In 1971 a new facility opened.

The W. H. Coffin House, located at 421 E. 11th Ave. in Winfield in Cowley County, Kansas, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.Built in 1892, the W. H. Coffin House is an example of Queen Anne style architecture in the United States popular from about 1880 to 1900. It is a two-story cedar weatherboard-clad frame house upon a limestone foundation. It has gables with fish scale shingles made from cedar.

The W. P. Hackney House, located at 417 E. 10th St. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1886. Also known as the Jarvis House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Completed in 1886, the three-story limestone house is an example of Vernacular architecture. It was home to W. P. Hackney, a prominent lawyer and politician. Including a one-story rear wing, the building is about 80 by 40 feet (24 m × 12 m) in plan.

The Cowley County Courthouse, located at 311 East 9th Avenue in Winfield, is the seat of government of Cowley County, Kansas. Winfield has been the county seat since 1867. The courthouse was built from 1961 to 1962 by contractor Law-Pollitt Construction Company of Wichita, Kansas. Caton, Yadon & Potter of Winfield and Stitzel & Thoma of Arkansas City, Kansas designed the courthouse in the Modern style. The courthouse is located on landscaped grounds on the city's west side. It is two stories and faces north. It is constructed of buff-colored brick and concrete with a flat roof. Adjoining the right side of the entrance is a large, two-story projection with a concrete map of the county showing the townships, cities, and rivers. The first courthouse was constructed in 1873 by Steart & Simpson. It received an addition in 1885 constructed by Abe Smith and designed by Terry & Dumont. The second courthouse was built in 1901 by Manhattan Construction Company and designed by Patrick Henry Weathers of Jackson, Mississippi.
