Cowley County Courthouse (Kansas)

The W. P. Hackney House, located at 417 E. 10th St. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1886. Also known as the Jarvis House, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.Completed in 1886, the three-story limestone house is an example of Vernacular architecture. It was home to W. P. Hackney, a prominent lawyer and politician. Including a one-story rear wing, the building is about 80 by 40 feet (24 m × 12 m) in plan.

The Pettit Cleaners Building, at 114 E. 8th Ave. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1947. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.It is 25 by 145 feet (7.6 m × 44.2 m) in plan, and part one-story and part two-story. The original portion was built in about 1880. In 1947 local architect William N. Canton designed the current Streamline Moderne facade.

The Cowley County National Bank Building, located at 820-822 Main St. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1886. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.It is a two-and-a-half-story limestone building. It was designed by the Richie Brothers.It was completed in 1886 and first occupied as the Farmers' Bank. From 1891 until 1922, it was operated at the Cowley County National Bank. The building was designed in the style of Second Empire architecture by local architects by W.A. Ritchie and W.J. Ritchie.

The W. H. Coffin House, located at 421 E. 11th Ave. in Winfield in Cowley County, Kansas, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.Built in 1892, the W. H. Coffin House is an example of Queen Anne style architecture in the United States popular from about 1880 to 1900. It is a two-story cedar weatherboard-clad frame house upon a limestone foundation. It has gables with fish scale shingles made from cedar.

The Winfield Public Carnegie Library, located at 1001 Millington Street in Winfield, Kansas, is a Carnegie library which was built in c.1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.Its design is credited to Smith and Parr, architects of Oklahoma City.

The Winfield National Bank Building, located at 901 Main Street in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1923. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.It is Classical Revival in style, with some Beaux-Arts details.

The Bryant School in Winfield, Kansas was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 4, 2017. It was built and expanded in c.1880, 1916, and 1938. It has also been known as West Ward School, as Second Ward School, as Western Public School, and as the Cowley County Historical Society Museum.It served as a school until 1964. It became home of the Cowley County Historical Society Museum in the late 1960s and is used as a museum still in 2017.

Winfield is a city and county seat of Cowley County, Kansas, United States. It is situated along the Walnut River in South Central Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 11,777. It is home to Southwestern College.

The Wilmer House, located at 1310 E. 9th Ave. in Winfield, Kansas, was built in 1917. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.It is a three-story side-gabled frame house. The property includes a single-car garage built in about 1917.It was home of physician Dr. F.M. Wilmer (b.1871), who came to Winfield in 1903 and served as an eye, ear, nose and throat doctor for 50 years. He also was active in the community, including by organizing an annual Fourth of July parade.

St. John's College was a two-year college located in Winfield, Kansas, and was operated by the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS). The school began operation in 1893 under the English Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri and Other States and ceased operation in 1986, after over 9,000 students had been through its programs.The college facilities now make up what is called "Baden Square", named to honor the college founder John Peter Baden. The City of Winfield uses the facilities for civic functions and municipal activities. Mundinger Hall, Rehwinkel Hall, and Baden Hall are each individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The St. John's Lutheran College Girls Dormitory, also known as Mundinger Hall, is a historic building on the campus of the former St. John's College at 6th Ave and Gary Street in Winfield, Kansas. The main section of the Late Gothic Revival building was constructed in 1949–50. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.It was designed by architects Overend & Boucher. The main section is 186 by 46 feet (57 m × 14 m) in plan.

The Walnut Valley Festival is an acoustic music festival held annually in the small city of Winfield, Kansas, United States. The main genre of music is bluegrass, but a wide variety of other acoustic styles are represented. The festival is held on the Wednesday through Sunday that includes the third Saturday of September.
