The Raymond Fogelman Social Sciences and Humanities Library is the flagship library of The New School university. It is located at 55 West 13th Street, in New York City's Greenwich Village.

School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School is the second conservatory of The New School university. It is located on West 13th Street in New York City's Greenwich Village neighborhood. It was known as The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music before it was rebranded as School of Jazz and Contemporary Music and becoming part of College of Performing Arts at The New School in 2016.

59 West 12th Street is a residential building located in the Greenwich Village Historic District in Lower Manhattan, New York City, United States. It was built by the developer brothers Bing & Bing with noted architect Emery Roth whose other work includes The Beresford and The El Dorado. It was granted an occupancy license on August 7, 1931 and houses 101 condominium apartments.

The New School is a private research university in New York City. It was founded in 1919 as The New School for Social Research with an original mission dedicated to academic freedom and intellectual inquiry and a home for progressive thinkers. Since then, the school has grown to house five divisions within the university. These include the Parsons School of Design, the Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, the College of Performing Arts, which includes the Mannes School of Music, The New School for Social Research, and the Schools of Public Engagement. In addition, the university maintains the Parsons Paris campus and has also launched or housed a range of institutions, such as the international research institute World Policy Institute, the Vera List Center for Art and Politics, the India China Institute, the Observatory on Latin America, and the Center for New York City Affairs. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". Approximately 10,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate programs and disciplines including design, music, fine arts, liberal arts, humanities, social sciences, architecture, drama, psychology, and public policy. The vast majority, over 70 percent of all students enrolled in university are in the creative areas of design, performing, and fine arts.

The École Libre des Hautes Études (lit. ‘Free School for Advanced Studies’) was a "university-in-exile" for French academics in New York during the Second World War. It was chartered by the French (the Free French) and Belgian governments-in-exile and located at the New School for Social Research. Its founders included Jean Wahl, Jacques Maritain, and Gustave Cohen, and it was supported by the Rockefeller Foundation.The philosopher Jacques Maritain, anthropologist Claude Lévi-Strauss, historian Elias Bickerman, and linguist Roman Jakobson all taught at the École Libre. According to Louis Menand, in "The Free World (p. 203)" it was started in 1942 through the efforts of Alvin Johnson, co-founder and director of the New School.

The Schools of Public Engagement at The New School is one of five academic divisions that compose The New School, a private research university located in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in New York City. It includes the Bachelor's Program for Adults and Transfer Students, the Milano School of Policy, Management and Environment, the School of Media Studies, the Julien J. Studley Graduate Programs in International Affairs, and the Creative Writing Program.

College of Performing Arts, is part of The New School, New York City, NY. The New School announced its establishment in fall of 2015 as a major rebranding of certain arts schools the school had. The measure combining the music, jazz and drama schools into a College of Performing Arts.The New School also announced the relocation of most of the performing arts it ran to Arnhold Hall at 55 West 13th St., where the School of Jazz had occupied two floors since 1986.

The Quad Cinema is New York City's first small four-screen multiplex theater. Located at 34 West 13th Street in Greenwich Village, it was opened by entrepreneur Maurice Kanbar, along with his younger brother Elliott S. Kanbar in October 1972. It has been described as "one of the oldest independent cinemas in the city" and "a vibrant center for art house films."

The 14th Street/Sixth Avenue station is an underground New York City Subway station complex in the Chelsea district of Manhattan on the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line, the BMT Canarsie Line and the IND Sixth Avenue Line. It is located on 14th Street between Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) and Seventh Avenue. It is served by the: 1, 2, F, and L trains at all times 3 train at all times except late nights M train during weekdays train during rush hours in the peak directionA connection is available from this complex to the PATH station at 14th Street and Sixth Avenue. There is a direct passageway from this complex to the PATH station's southbound platform; transferring between this complex and the northbound PATH platform requires exiting onto street level first.

14th Street was a station on the demolished IRT Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two tracks and two side platforms, and was served by trains from the IRT Sixth Avenue Line. The station opened on June 5, 1878, and was designed by famed Hudson River School painter Jasper Francis Cropsey, a trained architect. Beginning in 1907, the station had a connection to the 14th Street subway station of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad. It closed on December 4, 1938. The next southbound stop was Eighth Street. The next northbound stop was 18th Street. Two years later the station was replaced by the IND Sixth Avenue Line platforms of the 14th Street / Sixth Avenue Subway station complex.

14th Street is a station on the PATH system. Located at the intersection of 14th Street and Sixth Avenue (Avenue of the Americas) in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, it is served by the Hoboken–33rd Street and Journal Square–33rd Street lines on weekdays, and by the Journal Square–33rd Street (via Hoboken) line on weekends.

La Tulipe was a French restaurant in Manhattan owned and run by chef Sally Darr. It was located in Greenwich Village from 1979 to 1991. The restaurant served classic French cuisine and nouvelle cuisine, and was often referred to as a bistro. Though small and intimate, the restaurant proved influential, and after Mimi Sheraton awarded it three stars in The New York Times six weeks after it opened, it was favored by chefs such as Julia Child, James Beard, and Jacques Pépin.
