North Evans is a hamlet in the town of Evans in Erie County, New York, United States. The North Evans Volunteer Fire Company is located on Versailles Road, as is the Hobuck Flats Fishing Access site. Hobuck Flats also includes a 1.1-mile hiking trail that passes Buttermilk Falls, a waterfall with two drops, of 15 and 54 feet respectively.

Eighteen Mile Creek (also known as Eighteenmile Creek) is a tributary of Lake Erie located in southern Erie County, New York, United States. The creek is the second largest tributary of Lake Erie in New York State.The name is derived from the creek's distance south of the Niagara River in Buffalo. The creek was named Koughquaugu Creek by the Seneca Nation.

The Graycliff estate was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1926, and built between 1926 and 1931. It is approximately 17 miles southwest of downtown Buffalo, New York, at 6472 Old Lake Shore Road in the hamlet of Highland-on-the-Lake, with a mailing address of Derby. Situated on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie with sweeping views of downtown Buffalo and the Ontario shore, it is one of the most ambitious and extensive summer estates Wright designed. It is now fully restored and operates as a historic house museum, open for guided tours year round (with reduced activity during the winter). There is also a summer Market at Graycliff, free and open to the public on select Thursday evenings. Graycliff Conservancy is run by Executive Director Anna Kaplan, who was hired in 2019.

Highland-on-the-Lake is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Evans, Erie County, New York, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.The CDP is in the southwestern part of the county, in the northern part of the town of Evans. It sits on high ground on the shore of Lake Erie, on bluffs which in some places rise 100 feet (30 m) above the lake. New York State Route 5 runs through the CDP, leading northeast 16 miles (26 km) to Buffalo and southwest 27 miles (43 km) to Dunkirk. The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Graycliff is in the northern part of the CDP, overlooking Lake Erie.

The Derby ZIP code is 14047, and includes the neighborhood of Highland-on-the-Lake. Derby is also home to the North Evans Fire District which includes Highland Hose Volunteer Fire Company and the North Evans Volunteer Fire Company. Derby is home to Highland Elementary School, part of the Lake Shore School District.Derby's retail district is centered on, and around, Erie Road (New York State Route 5) and includes a variety of stores and services including a Rite Aid, Tops Friendly Market, McDonald's, Autozone, the Derby Animal Hospital, Derby Optical Tim Hortons coffee shop, The Bagel Jar, and The Network Consulting Group of WNY [11]. Derby is located on the shores of Lake Erie in the southwest part of Erie County and 18 miles (29 km) southwest of Buffalo. In the first quarter of the 20th century, many wealthy Buffalo families (i.e. Larkin, Kellogg, Schoellkopf, Mann, Trubee, Esty, Schmidt, Coit) built their summer estates there, including one called "Graycliff" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for the family of Darwin Martin, an executive at the Larkin Soap Company. Also at Derby is the historic First Church of Evans Complex.

The Frontier Central School District is the primary public school district serving the town of Hamburg, New York. The district serves most of the area surrounding the village of Hamburg and is an independent public entity. With authority from the State of New York, Frontier's seven-member Board of Education governs the district and selects the superintendent. The district's offices are at the Frontier Educational Center in Wanakah. Frontier was formed in June 1951 as a consolidation of eight smaller school districts along Hamburg's lakeshore. Today, the district has six schools, including four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. It has about 4,520 students, spends an average of $16,749 per pupil and maintains a student-to-teacher ratio of 13:1 (the national averages in 2020 were $12,654 and 16:1 respectively). The district is a member of the Erie 1 Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) system. In 2020, Buffalo Business First ranked Frontier as the fifteenth-best performing school district in the Western New York region. The Hamburg, West Seneca and Orchard Park central school districts serve the village and small portions of the town.

WHLD (1270 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Niagara Falls, New York, and serving the Buffalo-Niagara Falls metropolitan area. It is owned by Cumulus Media and carries a conservative talk radio format, much of it from co-owned Westwood One. Nationally syndicated shows including Dan Bongino, Chris Plante, Ben Shapiro, Michael J. Knowles, Mark Levin, Lars Larson, Red Eye Radio, and America in the Morning. Most hours begin with Fox News Radio. By day, WHLD is powered at 5,000 watts. But to protect other stations from interference, at night it reduces power to 1,000 watts. The transmitter is off Cloverbank Road at Sawgrass Court in Hamburg. It uses a directional antenna with a five-tower array. The studios are on James E. Casey Drive in Buffalo along with its Cumulus Media sister stations.
