Bad Dürrheim

Bad Dürrheim transmitter was a facility for medium wave and short wave broadcasting at 48°00'12" N and 8°31'28" E at Bad Dürrheim-Ankenbuck. It was built by the Südwestfunk in 1951 and used for mediumwave and shortwave broadcasting. Regarding the transmission antenna for mediumwave, a 120 metre tall guyed mast, which was insulated against ground was used. For the shortwave transmissions a 12 metre tall mast with a diameter of 4 metres was used. In 1962 the facility was given to German Federal Post (Deutsche Bundespost) in order to use it for transmitting the program of Deutschlandfunk. These days the shortwave transmissions of Bad Dürrheim transmitter have been moved to Bodenseesender. Because the program of Deutschlandfunk could be also received well by Ravensburg-Horgenzell transmitter in the area, which Bad Dürrheim transmitter served, it was shut down after the wave plan of Geneva came into force in 1978, where no frequency was applied for it. Today the antennas of Bad Dürrheim transmitter have been dismantled.

Helios Arena, originally known as Eisstadion am Bauchenberg, is an arena in Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany. It is primarily used for ice hockey, and is the home to the Schwenninger Wild Wings of the DEL. It opened in 1976 and holds 6,215 spectators.

Schwenningen (Neckar) station is one of two stations in Villingen-Schwenningen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The other is Villingen (Schwarzwald). Schwenningen owes its connection to the railway to Johannes Bürk, who had demanded a route through Schwenningen to promote the local watch industry, which included his own factory. The original plans involved a route through Niedereschach. The station is located at the Neckar, south of central Schwenningen. It is located at 695 metres (2,280 feet) above sea level on the Rottweil–Villingen railway. Originally the station was 540 metres (1,770 feet) long and up to 56 metres (184 feet) wide. The complex included a station building and a goods shed.The station promoted the economic boom of Schwenningen as an industrial city. The watch industry attracted workers from far away, some from the Stuttgart area. That explains why 436,410 passengers were counted in 1907, as Schwenningen had developed from the village into a city by that time.

The Museum of Clockmaking (German: Uhrenindustriemuseum) is a museum in the town of Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany, and is dedicated to the history of the clockmaking industry in the town. For much of the 19th century (and early 20th century), Schwenningen was one of southern Germany's most important centres of industrial scale clock manufacturing. The museum is at Bürkstraße 39, a building that was built to house the manufacturing plant for clocks by Wũrttenbergische Uhrenfabrik Bũrk Söhne. That company was considered to be the world leader in the specialised field of portable watchmen's control clocks and related time-recording devices. The core of the museum's collection is made up of working production machinery used to make precision metal parts that can be assembled into clock movements. They have all the machinery in-house to produce all components (except for the mainspring) to manufacture a simple alarm clock movement. Staffing permitting, the full museum visit includes a demonstration of the lathes, milling machines and punch presses, as well as the assembly and packaging process. In addition, there is a comprehensive display of locally mass-produced clocks from most of the former clock factories of Schwenningen. The museum also puts on temporary exhibitions.

The Internationales Luftfahrt-Museum (Manfred Pflumm) is an aviation museum located in the German town of Villingen-Schwenningen in Baden-Württemberg. Many aerospace exhibits are on display including fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters and aircraft engines. The main display is contained within one hangar with other aircraft displayed externally on a site covering 13,000 square metres. In addition to the aircraft exhibits a number of aircraft components and a collection of ejection seats are also held by the museum.

Brigachtal is a municipality in the district of Schwarzwald-Baar in Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

The Stille Musel, often just called the Musel by locals, is a small river about 14 km long, which has its source between Mühlhausen near Schwenningen and Hochemmingen at the Türnhalde near the B 523, flows through the Wittmannstal and flows into the Salinensee at Bad Dürrheim. It leaves the Salinensee again, flows through the centre of Bad Dürrheim and further to Donaueschingen, there north of the Schlosspark, where it flows into the Danube from the left shortly after the confluence of Brigach and Breg.

The Breg is a river, 46 kilometres long, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and the primary headstream of the Danube.

Wanne observation tower is one of the oldest lattice towers in the world. It was built in 1888 by the observation tower cooperative on the 778-meter-high (2,552 ft) Wanne mountain tub east of Villingen, in the Schwarzwald-Baar district in southern Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It was erected by bell foundry Grueninger of Villingen. The 30-meter-high (98 ft) tower has three platforms and is remarkable for its uncommon design, as it has an octagonal cross section.

Donaueschingen (German pronunciation: [ˌdoːnaʊˈʔɛʃɪŋən]; Low Alemannic: Eschinge) is a German town in the Black Forest in the southwest of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in the Schwarzwald-Baar Kreis. It stands near the confluence of the two sources of the river Danube (in German: Donau). Donaueschingen stands in a basin within low mountainous terrain. It is located about 13 km (8.1 mi) south of Villingen-Schwenningen, 24 km (15 mi) west of Tuttlingen, and about 30 km (19 mi) north of the Swiss town of Schaffhausen. In 2015 the population was 21,750, making it the second largest town in the district (Kreis) of Schwarzwald-Baar. It is a regional rail hub.
