St Joseph's College, Lochinvar is an independent Roman Catholic co-educational secondary day school, located in the village of Lochinvar, in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1883 by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, founded by Father Julian Tenison-Woods, the College caters for approximately 700 students from Year 7 to Year 12. In 1990, St Joseph's College merged with Catholic secondary schools in the area, St Peter's and St Mary's in nearby Maitland, to form All Saints' College. In 2018, St Joseph's College de-merged and expanded its educational offering to cater for students in Year 11 and Year 12. 2019 was the first year in which students commenced the NSW Higher School Certificate. The College motto is the phrase in Latin: Vigor in Ardius Crescat, which translates as "May your strength increase in difficulties".

Lochinvar railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the nearby town of Lochinvar opening on 2 July 1860. It briefly served as the terminus of the Great Northern Railway when it was extended from Maitland. In March 1862 Lochinvar ceased to be a terminus when the line was extended to Greta.

Maitland Airport, also known as Russell Field (IATA: MTL, ICAO: YMND) is a general aviation airport located in the suburb of Rutherford, approximately 5 km (3.1 mi) from Maitland in the Australian state of New South Wales. There are currently no airline services, with the airfield catering mostly to general aviation and recreational category aircraft. The airport has been owned and operated by the Royal Newcastle Aero Club since 1963 and shares a large training area with the nearby Cessnock Airport. Throughout its history, the airport has played host to many airshows, races and flying competitions. The field is named for the fifth President of the Royal Newcastle Aero Club, Robert Russell, who suffered a fatal heart attack while on the premises in 1966.

Anambah House is a heritage-listed residence at Anambah Road, Anambah, a suburb of Maitland in the Hunter region of New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by J. W. Pender and built from 1889 to 1906. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Farley is a former rural village in the City of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Early settler Captain Emanuel Hungerford arrived in New South Wales in 1828 before purchasing an established 2,000 acres (810 ha) property named Lochdon. Here he built a homestead he called Farley House, from which Farley takes its name, after his ancestral home of Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset. Farley is currently being redeveloped into a residential suburb of Maitland, with many new estates planned and land available from 400sqm. Farley is among the emerging western suburbs of Maitland including nearby Rutherford and Gillieston Heights across the wetlands. The Farley Wastewater Treatment Works is located in a rural area south of the village. Farley is bordered to the north by the Main North railway line. The Farley railway station served the area from 1860 until 1975.

Melville is a locality in the City of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Melville is a rural locality and covers an area of 5.6 square kilometres (2.2 sq mi). The Hunter River is located along the southern and western boundary rising to the Rosebrook Ridge at 182 metres (597 ft) located in the North. The traditional owners and custodians of the Maitland area are the Wonnarua people.

Farley railway station was a railway station serving the former rural village of Farley on the Main North line in New South Wales. It opened on 2 July 1860 as Wollombi Road. The station consisted of two side platforms with a substantial station building. In 1882, it was renamed Farley. It closed to passenger services on 20 September 1975, and the disused station buildings were subsequently demolished.

Rutherford is a suburb in the City of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, Rutherford was home to almost 12,000 residents, making it one of the most populated suburbs. The suburb consists of mixed residential development, bulky goods retail, light industry, and manufacturing plants. It also has its own small commercial centre. Rutherford is served by a number of schools within the suburb. These are Rutherford Public School, St. Paul's Primary School, and Rutherford Technology High School. There are also a range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities here.
