Farley railway station

Farley is a former rural village in the City of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Early settler Captain Emanuel Hungerford arrived in New South Wales in 1828 before purchasing an established 2,000 acres (810 ha) property named Lochdon. Here he built a homestead he called Farley House, from which Farley takes its name, after his ancestral home of Farleigh Hungerford, Somerset. Farley is currently being redeveloped into a residential suburb of Maitland, with many new estates planned and land available from 400sqm. Farley is among the emerging western suburbs of Maitland including nearby Rutherford and Gillieston Heights across the wetlands. The Farley Wastewater Treatment Works is located in a rural area south of the village. Farley is bordered to the north by the Main North railway line. The Farley railway station served the area from 1860 until 1975.

Rutherford is a suburb in the City of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. At the 2016 census, Rutherford was home to almost 12,000 residents, making it one of the most populated suburbs. The suburb consists of mixed residential development, bulky goods retail, light industry, and manufacturing plants. It also has its own small commercial centre. Rutherford is served by a number of schools within the suburb. These are Rutherford Public School, St. Paul's Primary School, and Rutherford Technology High School. There are also a range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities here.

Rutherford Technology High School (abbreviated as RTHS), also known as Rutherford High School, is a government-funded none-educational comprehensive secondary day school, located in Rutherford, a suburb of the city of Maitland in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1985, the school enrolled approximately 1,222 students in 2020, from Year 7 to Year 12, of whom 20 percent identified as Indigenous Australians and five percent were from a language background other than English. The school is operated by the NSW Department of Education; the principal is Simone Hughes.

Telarah railway station is located on the North Coast line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the western Maitland suburb of Telarah. It is served by NSW TrainLink Hunter Line services. The station opened on 14 August 1911 as West Maitland Marshalling Yard before being renamed Telarah on 15 April 1922. On 18 January 2018 a freight train derailed at the station on track 2; no one was injured.

South Maitland Railway Workshops is a heritage-listed former railway workshops and now museum and industrial site at Junction Street, Telarah, New South Wales, Australia. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Maitland ( MAYT-lənd) is a city in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales, Australia and the seat of Maitland City Council, situated on the Hunter River approximately 166 kilometres (103 mi) by road north of Sydney and 35 km (22 mi) north-west of Newcastle. It is on the New England Highway approximately 17 km (11 mi) from its origin at Hexham. At the 2021 census it had approximately 89,597 inhabitants, spread over an area of 392 square kilometres (151 sq mi), with most of the population located in a strip along the New England Highway between the suburbs of Lochinvar and Thornton. The city centre is located on the right bank of the Hunter River, protected from moderate potential flooding by a levee. Surrounding areas include the cities of Cessnock and Singleton local government areas.

It was established from 1860. It is also known as the Geological Survey collection of historic images. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Maitland Court House is a heritage-listed courthouse at High Street, Maitland, City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. It was designed by Walter Liberty Vernon and built in 1895–96. The property is owned by the Department of Justice. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.

Grossmann House is a heritage-listed former residence and Maitland Girls' High School premises and now house museum at 71 Church Street, Maitland, City of Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. It was built from 1860 to 1862 by Isaac Beckett and Samuel Owen. It is also known as Grossman House. The property is owned by the National Trust of Australia (NSW), and is associated with the neighbouring Brough House, which is also owned by the National Trust. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 1 March 2002.

Maitland railway station is located on the Main Northern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the city of Maitland opening on in 1880 as West Maitland being renamed on 1 April 1949. It is the junction station for the Main Northern and North Coast lines. It was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 2 April 1999.
