Engene Church

Nedenes is a village in Arendal municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located in the southern part of Arendal, just north of the municipal border with Grimstad. The Norwegian County Road 420 runs through the village heading north to the village of Rød and onwards to the island of Hisøya to the north. Engene Church is located in Nedenes.The county of Agder was named Nedenes amt from the 1600s until 1919. This name was chosen because the Nedenes village was once a large, medieval farm and later was the seat of the county officials.

It is an annex chapel in the Fjære parish which is part of the Vest-Nedenes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, concrete and wood chapel was built in a long church style in 1976 using designs by the architect Lindefjell. The chapel seats about 100 people.

Rød or Røed is a village in Arendal municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located at the mouth of the river Nidelva on the southwest side of the river, across the river from the villages of Asdal and Vrengen. The village lies along the Norwegian County Road 420, which leads north to the village of His on the island of Hisøya to the north, and the road leads south to the village of Nedenes and onwards to the municipality of Grimstad.

Fevik is a Seaside resort and village in Grimstad municipality in Agder county, Norway. The village is located along the Skaggerak coast about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) northeast of the town of Grimstad and about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) south of the city of Arendal. The village of Vik lies just southwest of Fevik. The 4.39-square-kilometre (1.69 sq mi) village of Fevik has a population (2015) of about 5,300 people, with most working in Arendal or central Grimstad. Since 2014, Fevik has been considered part of the "urban area" of Arendal by Statistics Norway.The European route E18 runs just to the north of the village area and the Norwegian County Road 420 runs through the village. Nidelva is the main river in the Arendal drainage basin in Agder county, Norway. The 221.7-kilometre (137.8 mi) long river begins at the confluence of two rivers: Nisserelva and Fyreselv. The confluence is located by the village of Haugsjåsund in Nissedal municipality in southern Vestfold og Telemark county. The river flows south into the Skagerrak at the city of Arendal. The watershed covers 4,011 square kilometres (1,549 sq mi) and has an average waterflow of 114.4 cubic metres per second (4,040 cu ft/s) at Rykene near the mouth. The highest waterflow ever recorded on the river was 1,200 cubic metres per second (42,000 cu ft/s) in the autumn of 1987.

The village is located in the Bjorbekk area of Arendal, along the Norwegian County Road 407, just north of the mouth of the river Nidelva. The Bjorbekk Church lies just northwest of Vrengen and the village of Asdal lies just to the south.

Bjorbekk Church (Norwegian: Bjorbekk kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Arendal Municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the village of Bjorbekk. It is one of the churches for the Øyestad parish which is part of the Arendal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1884 using plans drawn up by the architect Johan Christoff Friedrich Reuter (1829-1909). The church seats about 650 people.

Norwegian county road 407 (Fylkesvei 407) is a Norwegian county road in Agder county, Norway. The 13.9-kilometre (8.6 mi) highway runs between the village of Vik in Grimstad municipality and Sponvika on the south side of the city of Arendal in Arendal municipality. Prior to the transportation reforms of 2010, this road was a Norwegian national road, but since then it was taken over by the county.
