Selva, Grigno

Grotta della Bigonda (The Bigonda cave (or Vigondola ) is a natural cave located in Valsugana, near Selva in Grigno, in the province of Trento, on the right bank of the Brenta river.The cave can be visited, but only accompanied by a guide (this can be addressed to the Grotte di Selva Group), only during the winter season (since it is less rainy) and only for its first kilometer (more than necessary special equipment is required).

Abisso di Malga Fossetta (The Abyss of Malga Fossetta) is a deep cavity of the plateau of the Sette Comuni, a complex of karst full of caves (2,562 explored in 2009). The abyss is located in the municipality of Enego, in the province of Vicenza. The abyss of Malga Fossetta, with its currently known depth of more than 1,000 m, is the second deepest cavity in Veneto (the first to be discovered to exceed 1000 m deep) and one of the deepest in Italy.Recent discoveries see a possible connection with the Grotta della Bigonda (one of the largest Italian caves) that would thus bring the depth of the abyss to more than 1,400 m, making it the deepest cave in Italy.

Mount Ortigara (2,105 m, 6,906 ft) is one of the peaks, about 2,000 m (6,000 feet) tall, which delimit to the north the Seven Municipalities Plateau (in Italian: Altipiano dei Sette Comuni), falling sheer on the underlying Sugana Valley with a jump of over 1,500 meters (4,500 feet). With the neighbouring mountains, it forms an imposing ridge easily accessible from the Asiago Plateau, but only reachable through steep paths from the Sugana Valley. In World War I, it became the theatre of fierce fighting (which became known as the Battle of Mount Ortigara) between Italians and Austro-Hungarians, both of whom fell by the thousand trying to conquer its summit.

The Battle of Mount Ortigara was fought from 10 to 25 June 1917 between the Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies for possession of Mount Ortigara, in the Asiago Plateau.

Monte Fior is a mountain of Veneto, Italy. It is located on the Asiago Plateau, in the Vicentine Alps, and has an elevation of 1,824 metres (5,984 ft).Monte Fior is the highest peak of the Melette group, in the Province of Vicenza. Along with the rest of the group, it was heavily contested during the First World War; held by the Alpini and the Sassari Brigade, on 7 June 1916 it was captured by Austro-Hungarian troops during the battle of Asiago, after bitter fighting in which over 3,500 men were killed, but it returned in Italian ends a few weeks later. Monte Zebio (Italian pronunciation: [ˈmonte dˈdzeːbjo]) is a mountain of the Veneto, Italy. It has an elevation of 1,819 metres (5,968 ft). The mountain was an important stronghold for the Austro-Hungarian defensive line during World War I.

Cima Dodici (Italian for "peak 12", in Cimbrian language Freyjoch) is a mountain on the border of Vicenza in Veneto and Trentino in Trentino Alto Adige, northern Italy, south of the village of Borgo Valsugana. It has an elevation of 2,336 metres. and is the highest peak in Vicenza. At 1,874 m prominence, it is an ultra prominent peak. The key col is near the village of Pergine Valsugana.

Gallio (Cimbrian: Ghèl) is a town in the province of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy. It is on SP76. As of 2007 Gallio had an estimated population of 2,454.The town is home to mountain slopes popular with skiers, and a 70-meter ski jump, which has been used in international ski jumping competitions.

The Battle of Asiago (Battle of the Plateaux) or the Südtirol Offensive (in Italian: Battaglia degli Altipiani), nicknamed Strafexpedition ("Punitive expedition") by the Austro-Hungarian forces, was a major offensive launched by the Austro-Hungarians on the territory of Vicentine Alps in the Italian Front on 15 May 1916, during World War I. It was an "unexpected" attack that took place near Asiago in the province of Vicenza (now in northeast Italy, then on the Italian side of the border between the Kingdom of Italy and Austria-Hungary) after the Fifth Battle of the Isonzo (March 1916). Commemorating this battle and the soldiers killed in World War I is the Asiago War Memorial.

As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,322 and an area of 54.3 square kilometres (21.0 sq mi).The municipality of Lamon contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Arina, Bellotti, Cess, Chioè, Oltra, Piei, Pian del vescovo, Rugna, Ronche, San Donato, Sala, and Zavena.
