Tambaram Air Force Station is an Indian Air Force airfield in Tambaram, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This Air Force station is primarily involved in the training of pilots as Qualified Flying Instructors and Mechanical Training Institute for airmen. What started as RAF Station Tambaram, in the Madras Presidency, in the southeast of the British India, it became the Tambaram Air Force Station after the British left. The station has a squadron of 15 Pilatus PC-7 Mk II basic trainers by 2015 at the Flying Instructors School. The PC-7 will join a fleet that comprises Kiran Mk I and Mk II trainer aircraft, and HAL Cheetah and HAL Chetak helicopters. An An-32 transport squadron is stationed here. Apart from training, helicopters from the Indian Navy have also been operated from this airfield. In 2017 the Indian Air Force proposed to lengthen the runway so that larger aircraft could land to assist with natural disasters.

Vandalur Reserve Forest is a protected area located in the suburb of Vandalur to the southwestern part of Chennai, about 30 km from the city centre. It is bordered by the Grand Southern Trunk (GST) Road in the west and Suddhanandha Bharathi Street on the northern and the eastern sides and is intersected by the Vandalur–Kelambakkam Road on the southern side. Irumbuliyur Junction is one of the important junctions in the city of Chennai, India. It is located at Irumbuliyur near Tambaram in Chennai at the intersection of NH 45 with the Chennai Bypass. Perungalathur (Tamil: [peɾɯŋɡaɭattuːɾ]) is a southern suburb of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. A residential locality in southern part of the metropolitan area of Chennai, the town is served by Perungalathur Railway Station of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. Perungulathur is main bus boarding station for passengers to reach all southern cities of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, Ancient Shiva Temple, located in Perungulathur is about 800 years old. The Kamatchi Amman Temple and Aadhi Karaneeswarar Temple are also popular. Recently Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to upgrade Tambaram to Corporation by expanding its territory till Perungulathur.

Perungalathur railway station is one of the railway station of the Chennai Beach–Chengelpet section of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network a suburb of Chennai. It serves the neighbourhoods of Perungalathur and Peerkankaranai. It is situated about 32 km (20 mi) from Chennai Beach and has an elevation of 26 m (85 ft) above sea level.
