Vicars Cross

Littleton is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Cheshire West and Chester and ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is near the A51 road, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Chester. At the time of the 2001 census the population was 644, increasing to 647 by the 2011 census.

Christleton Hall is a former country house in the village of Christleton, Cheshire, England. It was built in about 1750 for Townsend Ince. The building was later used as a boarding school. In 1934 the Salvatorians purchased the hall from the Hemelryk family, From 1974 to 2021, the hall and its grounds was a law college, one of the campuses of the University of Law.Additions were made to it in the middle of the 19th century, and in the early part of the 20th century. The house is constructed in red brick with stone dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It is in three stories, and has a south front of four bays, three of which are from the original house. The hall is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The 20th-century additions are excluded from the listing.The University of Law sold the site in 2019; the campus will remain in Christleton until summer 2021. Cheshire West and Chester’s planning committee in 2022 approved proposals to convert the hall into 18 apartments and build 24 detached houses on the site.

Piper's Ash is a small hamlet between the areas of Vicars Cross, Christleton, and Guilden Sutton, situated in west Cheshire. Piper's Ash is classed as semi-rural because it is situated approximately 200 yards from the A51 on one side and countryside on the other. Village amenities include (or included) a corner shop, a chapel, (both now converted into houses) and a small village green with a phone and postbox.

St James' Church is in the village of Christleton, Cheshire, England. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. It is an active Anglican parish church in the diocese of Chester, the archdeaconry of Chester and the deanery of Chester. It is the only Cheshire church designed by William Butterfield.

Christleton Old Hall is a former country house in the village of Christleton, Cheshire, England. It was built in the early 17th century as a timber-framed house by a member of the Egerton family but around 1870, when being used as a rectory, was encased in Ruabon red brick whilst the Rev Lionel Garnett was rector. The house is built in two and three storeys with Welsh slate roofs. The entrance front has seven bays. The interior of the house contains "much good Jacobean plasterwork and panelling". The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building. The gate piers, gates and garden walls are listed at Grade II. The remains of tunnels still surround the house, possibly connecting it to the village church. It was bought c.1710 by Gerard Townsend, a Chester merchant, who left it to his son Robert Townsend, a lawyer and the Recorder of Chester. It has been subsequently owned by The Ince Family, Mrs Mary Legh, J Verney Lace and Major & Mrs Currie. In 1946 it was acquired by the Guest Williams brothers, who were related by marriage to the Ince, Legh and Currie families. Since the sale of the property in 1974, it has been substantially restored.

Hoole Village is a village and former civil parish near Chester, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The civil parish was abolished in 2015 to form Mickle Trafford and District, part of it also went to Guilden Sutton. The parish contained the southern end of the M53 motorway where it becomes the A55 road and is crossed by the A56 road. This junction is known as Hoole Island Junction. Also in the village is Hoole Hall, which is now a hotel.In 2004 the population was 230, rising to 319 at the time of the 2011 census.

Christleton High School is a large academy school located in the small village of Christleton on the outskirts of Chester, England. The Headteacher is Kevin Smith. The School offers education from age 11 to 18 and has its own Sixth Form. Three current sitting Members of Parliament attended the school; Sarah Atherton, Samantha Dixon and Luke Pollard.

Boughton Hall Cricket Club Ground is a cricket ground in Boughton, Cheshire. The ground is located in grounds which formerly belonged to Boughton Hall. The ground is located off Boughton Hall Avenue, with the Shropshire Union Canal to the north. The ground is used by Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.

Hoole Hall is a former country house located to the north of Chester, Cheshire, England. It originated as a small house in about 1760, built for the Rev John Baldwin. After Rev Baldwin's death in 1793, the house passed to his eldest son, Thomas Baldwin, who then sold the house and surrounding land in 1800.Extensive additions were made to it in the 19th century including an elaborate cast iron conservatory. The conservatory was not designed by Thomas Harrison in about 1820, as some have stated. He in fact designed the one at Hoole House. The Hoole Hall conservatory does not appear in illustrations until after 1850. During the 20th century it was used by Western Command Army Division to house the Pay Corps and later abandoned and became derelict, but was then converted into a hotel. It is constructed in plum-coloured brick, with stone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. Its plan is square, plus a servants' wing. The west wing has two storeys, is symmetrical, sits on a stone plinth, and has rusticated quoins. Figueirdo and Treuherz describe it as "a miniature astylar Palladian villa of brick with stucco dressings". The house is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club (often called Chester BH) is a cricket club that is based in Boughton, Chester, England. The club has four senior XIs playing Saturday sides that compete in the Cheshire County Cricket League of which the 1st XI is in the ECB Premier League.

Hoole is a suburb in the east of Chester, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The area is contiguous with Newton to the north and Vicars Cross to the south. The A41 road marks the suburb's eastern boundary, with the separate Hoole Village approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) away. At the 2011 census the population of the electoral ward of Newton and Hoole was 9,359.
