Oberstedten is one of four town subdivisions (Stadtteile) and one of three boroughs (Ortsbezirke) of Oberursel, located north of the core city and immediately northwest of Frankfurt am Main in Germany. It is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area at the border of Bad Homburg.

The Gesamtschule am Gluckenstein (abbreviation: GaG; English: Comprehensive school at the Gluckenstein) is a Gesamtschule (comprehensive school) in Bad Homberg vor der Höhe, Hesse, Germany. The school has approximate 70 teachers and more than 800 students. In school year 2006/2007 the school time at the Gymnasium at the Gesamtschule am Gluckenstein was reduced from nine to eight years. So the students get their Abitur after twelve school years totally, not thirteen years more. But in school year 2008/2009 the school has decided to reintroduce the thirteen school years at the Gymnasium.

Motorenfabrik Oberursel A.G. was a German manufacturer of automobile, locomotive and aircraft engines situated in Oberursel (Taunus), near Frankfurt (Main), Germany. During World War I it supplied a major 100 hp-class rotary engine that was used in a number of early-war fighter aircraft designs. In 1921 the company merged with Deutz AG, and then again in 1930 with Humboldt-Deutz Motoren, and finally in 1938 with Klöcknerwerke AG. From this point on they were known as the Klöckner-Humboldt-Deutz Oberursel factory, known primarily for their locomotive engines. Today they are part of Rolls-Royce Deutschland, and produce one family of their jet engines. The factory in Oberursel is claimed to be the oldest surviving aircraft engine factory in the world.

Camp King is a site on the outskirts of Oberursel, Taunus (in Germany), with a long history. It began as a school for agriculture under the auspices of the University of Frankfurt. During World War II, the lower fields became an interrogation center for the German Air Force. After World War II, the United States Army also used it as an interrogation center and intelligence post. In 1968, it became the command and control center for the United States Army Movements Control Agency - Europe (USAMCAEUR). Today it has been rebuilt as a German housing area.

Bad Homburg vor der Höhe (pronounced [baːt ˈhɔmbʊʁk] (listen)) is the district town of the Hochtaunuskreis, Hesse, on the southern slope of the Taunus mountains. Bad Homburg is part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. The town's official name is Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe, which distinguishes it from other places named Homburg. It is known best for its mineral springs and spa (hence the prefix Bad, meaning "bath"), and for its casino. At present, Bad Homburg is one of the wealthiest towns in Germany (while the Hochtaunuskreis and the Landkreis Starnberg regularly compete for the title of the wealthiest district in Germany). As of 2004, the town's marketing slogan is Champagnerluft und Tradition (Champagne air and tradition).

Oberursel (Taunus) (German: [oː.bɐ.ˈʊʁ.zl̩] (listen)) is a town in Germany and part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main urban area. It is located to the north west of Frankfurt, in the Hochtaunuskreis county. It is the 13th largest town in Hesse. In 2011, the town hosted the 51st Hessentag state festival.

Bad Homburg Castle (Schloss Bad Homburg) is a castle and palace in the German city of Bad Homburg vor der Höhe. Originally the residence of the Landgraves of Hesse-Homburg, it was first built in the 12th century. All but the keep was demolished in 1660 by Frederick II, Landgrave of Hesse-Homburg. He replaced the old castle with a new one designed by Paul Andrich between 1680 and 1685. Its grounds and gardens were landscaped in the 18th and 19th centuries, including the addition of the Gothic House. It was inherited by Hesse-Darmstadt after Prussia's annexation of Hesse-Homburg in 1866 following the Austro-Prussian War, becoming a summer residence for the kings of Prussia. William I stayed at the castle several times, as did his son and successor Frederick III and Frederick's wife Victoria. The castle was a particular favourite of Frederick and he and his successors added bathrooms, telephone rooms and electricity and merged some rooms. After 1918 the castle was administered by the Prussian state and from 1945 by the state of Hesse. From 1947 it housed the Verwaltung der Staatlichen Schlösser und Gärten Hessen (Hesse Administration for State Castles and Gardens).

The Humboldtschule (abbreviation: HUS; English: Humboldt School) is one of two Gymnasiums, besides the Kaiserin-Friedrich-Gymnasium (KFG), in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe, Hesse, Germany. The eponyms are Alexander (1769–1859) and Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767–1835). Since November 2000 the school is a recognized UNESCO project school (UNESCO-Projektschule). In the school year 2008/2009, the school had 134 teachers and 1,602 students. Starting with school year 2009/2010 the school has 1,750 students. The history of the school goes back to 1900. Founded as Städtische Höhere Mädchenschule in 1900, the school has grown to be one of the largest schools in the Hochtaunuskreis.

The Church of the Redeemer (German: Erlöserkirche) of Bad Homburg belongs to the Protestant Church in Germany. Finished in 1908, the building is outwardly of a heavy, Romanesque Revival appearance, while its interior is held in a neo-Byzantine style, with rich marble wall decorations and gold mosaics covering the domed ceiling, leading to the church sometimes being called 'Bad Homburg's Hagia Sophia'.
