Upper Loughor (Welsh: Casllwchwr Uchaf) was an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. The ward covered the eastern part of the town of Loughor in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It was bounded by Lower Loughor and the Loughor estuary to the west; Penyrheol to the north; Kingsbridge to the east and Gowerton to the south. In the 2008 local council elections, the turnout for Upper Loughor was 42.69%. The results were:

Loughor (; Welsh: Casllwchwr) is a town in Swansea, Wales. Historically in Glamorgan, it lies on the estuary of the River Loughor (Welsh: Afon Llwchwr). The town has a community council under the name Llwchwr. The town is bordered by the communities of Bynea in Carmarthenshire, Grovesend, Gowerton, and Gorseinon. Loughor is part of the built-up area of Gorseinon.

Kingsbridge (Welsh: Pontybrenin) was an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. It was part of the Llwchwr Town council area. The Kingsbridge ward was bordered by the wards of Gowerton, Cockett and Penderry to the south; Gorseinon and Penllergaer to the north and Upper Loughor to the west. The electoral ward consisted of some or all of the following areas: Kingsbridge, Garden Village and Stafford Common in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. Kingsbridge is a mainly rural ward but it also has a scattering of industrial areas. For election purposes, Kingsbridge is broken down into the polling districts of Kingsbridge and Garden Village. Kingsbridge (Welsh: Pontybrenin), is a village in the City and County of Swansea, Wales falling within the Kingsbridge ward. It covers the south east of the town of Gorseinon. Kingsbridge lies to the south of Gorseinon and Penllergaer, to the east of Penyrheol, to the north of Gowerton and Cockett, and to the west of Penderry. Kingsbridge has a Welsh Football League club called Garden Village AFC. There is a small business park on the outskirts of the village. The premises of two south and west Wales radio stations called Swansea Sound and 96.4 The Wave are located in Kingsbridge. There are two local Primary Schools. YGG Pontybrenin teaches through the medium of Welsh, whilst Pontybrenin Primary School teaches through the English Language. The Gorseinon Campus of Gower College Swansea is also located in the area.

Penyrheol (Welsh: Pen-yr-heol) is a suburban district of Swansea, Wales falling within the Penyrheol ward. Penyrheol is located about 7 miles (11 km) north west of Swansea city centre in northwest Gorseinon. Penyrheol has two schools: a primary school and Penyrheol Comprehensive School. The latter was destroyed by arsonists in the early hours of Saturday 18 March 2006 causing 10 million pounds worth of damage. This caused much disruption to the pupils and families of the communities of Penyrheol, Gorseinon and Loughor. The destroyed teaching block was rebuilt at a cost of £9.9m and lessons began in the new block on 4 September 2009.Penyrheol Leisure centre is the local sports facility which incorporates a swimming pool, gymnasium and theatre. The swimming pool is the home of Penyrheol Swimming Club, the only swimming club in Swansea to have achieved the Dragon Mark Award.Penyrheol is an electoral ward of the City and County of Swansea Council.

Gorseinon is the name of an electoral ward in the City and County of Swansea, Wales. The Gorseinon community comprises the electoral ward of Gorseinon and part of the Penyrheol ward. Gorseinon has its own elected town council. The electoral ward consists of Gorseinon town and the surrounding rural areas, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. The ward and community are coterminous with each other and encompass the town. Prior to local government re-organisation in 1996, the town of Gorseinon was administered as part of the Lliw Valley district. Since 1996, Gorseinon has been governed by the City and County of Swansea council. The ward is bounded by Penyrheol to the north west, Penllergaer to the east and Kingsbridge to the south. The community of Gorseinon, together with the community of Llwchwr is twinned with Ploermel in France. For the 2012 local council elections, the turnout in Gorseinon was 32.70%. The Results were:

The electoral ward consists of some or all of the following areas: Penyrheol, Grovesend and Waun Gron, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. It is bordered by the Loughor estuary to the north west; and the wards of Pontarddulais to the north; Llangyfelach to the east; and Upper Loughor, Kingsbridge, Gorseinon and Penllergaer to the south. Gowerton (Welsh: Tregŵyr) is a large village and community, about 4 miles (6 km) north west of Swansea city centre, Wales. Gowerton is often known as the gateway to the Gower Peninsula. Gowerton's original name was Ffosfelin. The village falls within the Gowerton electoral ward of the City and County of Swansea Council, which elects one councillor. The community had a population of 5,212. and the built-up area with Waunarlwydd 8,183.In 1980, the Welsh National Eisteddfod (named after Dyffryn Lliw, see below) was held at the Elba sports complex in the village. The Eisteddfod stone (Gorsedd stones) is located on the roundabout (grid ref. 585966) on the B4295 road to Penclawdd.

The Old Town Hall (Welsh: Hen Neuadd y Dref Casllwchwr) is a former municipal building in Castle Street in Loughor, a town in Swansea, Wales. The structure, which used to be the neeting place of the local borough council, is a Grade II listed building.
