Sheldon Lake State Park and Environmental Learning Center

Sheldon Lake is a reservoir on Carpenters Bayou in the San Jacinto River basin, 16 miles (26 km) northeast of downtown Houston, Texas. The reservoir was created in 1943 when the federal government built a dam to provide fresh water for shipbuilding and shipping industries on the Houston Ship Channel during World War II. After the war, the management of the reservoir was assumed by the City of Houston. In 1952, after the construction of the dam that creates Lake Houston, the city sold the reservoir to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for use as a waterfowl sanctuary and public fishing site. In 1984, the land around the reservoir was designated the Sheldon State Wildlife Management Area.

Sheldon is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP) in northeastern Harris County, Texas, United States located completely inside the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Houston. The Sheldon area is located along Beltway 8 and US Highway 90 approximately twelve miles (19 km) northeast of Downtown Houston. Since the 1950s, the population growth of Sheldon has grown to extend past the statistical census-designated place (CDP) boundary originally delineated by the United States Census Bureau. The local understanding of the area is that it corresponds to that of boundary of the Sheldon Independent School District.Residential and commercial development in Sheldon has increased since the 2000s, gradually transforming the once rural area into one of the Houston area's fast growing suburban communities by percentage.The population for the area within the CDP was 2,361 at the 2020 census. C.E. King High School is a secondary school located in unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States and serves grades 9 through 12. It is the only high school in the Sheldon Independent School District. The school serves unincorporated areas of northeast Harris County including the Sheldon CDP and several nearby communities (Beaumont Place, Houmont Park) and subdivisions. As of 2013, C.E. King High School is rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

J.H. Crenshaw Memorial Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in unincorporated Harris County located northeast of Houston, Texas. The stadium is owned and operated by Sheldon Independent School District and is composed of a track and field which are used for various sports. The stadium is situated in the space between C.E. King Middle School and C.E. King High School and is shared by C.E. King Middle school and Michael R. Null Middle School. Until 2019 when Sheldon ISD Panther Stadium was opened, it was used by C.E. King High School The field is used for football during the first semester of the school year, and for soccer during the second half. Track and field athletics also use the stadium for competitive running, jumping, and throwing. It is mainly used for hosting University Interscholastic League athletic competitions against rival school districts in the region.

Buckhorn Lake is a private lake in Harris County in the state of Texas, United States. The lake is approximately 60 acres (24 ha) filled with cypress trees and was created by an underwater creek and spring. It is well stocked for fishing.

Beaumont Place is an unincorporated community in east central Harris County, Texas, United States. It is located along Beaumont Highway (U.S. Highway 90) and the Southern Pacific Railroad. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of the Sheldon Reservoir.As of 2004, several houses in Beaumont Place discharged wastewater into ditches and shallow trenches. For this reason the Texas Safe and Affordable Water and Wastewater Services (TSAWW) began to target Beaumont Place for improvements.

It is located along Beaumont Highway (U.S. Highway 90) and the Southern Pacific Railroad, 2 miles (3.2 km) southwest of the Sheldon Reservoir.The subdivision developed during the 1950s and the 1960s, as Greater Houston expanded in size.

Galena Park ISD Stadium is a stadium situated on Galena Park ISD Sports Complex property in the Cloverleaf CDP of unincorporated Harris County, Texas, United States. The Galena Park Independent School District property is primarily used for American football and soccer, and is the home field of North Shore Senior High School, and Galena Park High School. It hosted the college football all-star game North-South All-Star Classic in 2007. The stadium holds 10,300 people and was opened in 2002.

Halls Bayou is a bayou in the northern part of Houston, Texas. It begins just north of W Mt Houston Road and flows for 17 miles (27 km). It empties into Greens Bayou in Brock Park and Golf Course. It gets its name after Isaac Dolan Hall bought the land.
