Wolfstein (German pronunciation: [ˈvɔlfˌʃtaɪ̯n] ) is a former Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Kusel, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The seat of the Verbandsgemeinde was in Wolfstein. On 1 July 2014 it merged into the new Verbandsgemeinde Lauterecken-Wolfstein. The Verbandsgemeinde Wolfstein consisted of the following Ortsgemeinden ("local municipalities"): Aschbach Einöllen Eßweiler Hefersweiler Hinzweiler Jettenbach Kreimbach-Kaulbach Nußbach Oberweiler im Tal Oberweiler-Tiefenbach Reipoltskirchen Relsberg Rothselberg Rutsweiler an der Lauter Wolfstein

Old Wolfstein Castle (German: Burg Alt-Wolfstein, also called the Altes Schloß), is a ruined hillside castle on the eastern slopes of the Königsberg at the narrowest point in the Lauter valley near Wolfstein in the county of Kusel in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

The Selberg is a hill, 545.1 m, in the county of Kusel in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is part of the North Palatine Uplands and is a southern outlier of the Königsberg. The Selberg rises between the streams of Breitenbach and Lauter. Nearby villages are Eßweiler, Rutsweiler an der Lauter and Rothselberg.
