Fairview is a census-designated place (CDP) in Alameda County, California, United States. It borders on the city of Hayward and the census-designated place of Castro Valley. The population was 11,341 at the 2020 census.

Don Castro Regional Recreation Area is a regional park located in Hayward, California. It is part of the East Bay Regional Parks system.

Lone Tree Cemetery is a 42-acre (17 ha), active, nonprofit cemetery, mausoleum and columbarium complex in unincorporated Fairview, California, adjacent to the city of Hayward. The site was first established in 1868. The cemetery has hosted, since 1903, the oldest continuous Memorial Day celebration in southern Alameda County. It contains a memorial to 73 soldiers from Hayward, Castro Valley and San Lorenzo who died in the Vietnam War, and a memorial to Alameda County Sheriff's Deputies and police officers from cities in the county.

Cull Creek is a 7.5 mile long creek in Contra Costa and Alameda Counties, California. It is a tributary to Crow Creek, which is itself a tributary to San Lorenzo Creek.

The East Bay is the eastern region of the San Francisco Bay Area and includes cities along the eastern shores of the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay. Memorial Park, in Hayward, California, is a public park managed by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District. The park contains an indoor swim center, the Hayward Plunge, which opened in 1936. The park is the access point to the Greenbelt Trails, which follow Ward Creek Canyon adjacent to California State University, East Bay. The park has a small bandstand with musical events offered on major holidays. It borders on Mount Saint Joseph Cemetery (also known as All Saints or Portuguese Cemetery) which was first established in 1875. It is operated by the All Saints Catholic Church in Hayward. Many of the historic gravestone inscriptions are in Portuguese.

Cull Canyon Regional Recreation Area (CCRRA) is a regional park located in Castro Valley, Alameda County, California. It is part of the East Bay Regional Park District (EBRPD) system.

The Pioneer Amphitheatre is an amphitheatre located at the north-eastern corner of the Hayward Hills Campus of California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California. The venue is managed by the Sequoia Management Group. In addition to outdoor concerts and university functions the Pioneer Amphitheatre is also plays host to numerous graduation ceremonies of local high schools and is an assembly area for the university in the event of a disaster or emergency.

California State University, East Bay (Cal State East Bay, CSU East Bay, or CSUEB) is a public university in Hayward, California. The university is part of the 23-campus California State University system and offers 136 undergraduate and 60 post-baccalaureate areas of study. Founded in 1957, California State University, East Bay has a student body of almost 14,000. As of Fall 2021, it had 863 faculty, of whom 358 (41%) were on the tenure track. The university's largest and oldest college campus is located in Hayward, with additional campus-sites in the nearby cities of Oakland and Concord. With multiple campuses across the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area, the school changed its name from California State University, Hayward to its present name in 2005. Cal State East Bay is a Hispanic-serving institution and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution.

Pioneer Gym is a 2,500 seat multi-purpose arena in Hayward, California built in 1967. It is the home of the California State University, East Bay Pioneers men's and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team.

Hayward High School is a public high school in Hayward, California, United States, serving students living in northern Hayward and portions of Castro Valley, Cherryland and Fairview. It is one of four high schools in the city and is one of the oldest high schools in Northern California. The school's official mascot is the "Farmer", which dates back to Hayward's period as an agricultural center. Its emblem features a farmer with a plow, a reference to the city's agricultural past.

E. Guy Warren Hall, commonly known as Warren Hall, was a 13-story building at California State University, East Bay. It was the signature building of the campus in Hayward, California, overlooking the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. The building was visible from cities throughout the Bay Area, and served as a landmark for Hayward and the East Bay. It was the tallest building in Hayward at the time, followed by the abandoned City Center Building in downtown Hayward.
