Olson Park and Waterfall was a heavily visited park and waterfall complex that was located in the Avondale community area of Chicago. It was built by Walter E. Olson, the owner of the Olson Rug Company, next to his factory and headquarters on the northwest corner of Diversey and Pulaski, and was a popular landmark for Chicago families. Built during the Great Depression the park was open to the public until it was closed in 1971 after Marshall Field bought the complex in 1965. The Chicago Tribune named Olson Park as the first of "Chicago's Seven Lost Wonders". The park's opening was famous for the fact that during its opening, the park was symbolically "deeded" back to Native Americans, observing the hundred year anniversary of the expulsion of Indians across the Mississippi River after the Blackhawk War. Today the site is occupied by a parking lot for the former Olson Rug factory and headquarters which is now occupied by the retailer Macy's. The area is near of one of Chicago's "Polish Patches", Jackowo, and the complex was a few blocks from St. Hyacinth Basilica as well as Kosciuszko Park.

Kelvyn Park High School is a public 4–year high school located in the Hermosa neighborhood on north-west side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Opened in 1933, Kelvyn Park is operated by the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) district. In addition to being a neighborhood high school, Kelvyn Park also serves as a middle school with seventh and eighth grades. Kelvyn Park attendance boundaries extends to the Logan Square, Cragin and Belmont Gardens neighborhoods.

Healy is a station on Metra's Milwaukee District North Line in the Hermosa community area of Chicago, Illinois. The station is 6.4 miles (10.3 km) away from Chicago Union Station, the southern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Healy is in zone B. As of 2018, Healy is the 140th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 323 weekday boardings. It is just south of the factories of Newly Weds Foods. The station is named after the Lyon & Healy Harps, Inc., a world-renowned harp manufacturer founded in Chicago in 1864 by George W. Lyon and Patrick J. Healy. Now headquartered on Ogden Avenue, the company was located near the station at 4014 W. Fullerton Ave. until 1914.Street-side parking is only available on the north side of West Fullerton Avenue just west of where it runs beneath the tracks. A freight spur exists north of the station. On May 8, 2017, Metra broke ground on a major renovation of Healy station, including new platforms, heated shelters, improved access for the disabled, and LED lighting. The makeover will cost $7.3 million and is expected to increase ridership given the station's close proximity to the 606 Trail.As of December 12, 2022, Healy is served by 40 trains (19 inbound, 21 outbound) on weekdays, by all 20 trains (10 in each direction) on Saturdays, and by all 18 trains (nine in each direction) on Sundays and holidays.

Kosciuszko Park is a park located at 2732 N. Avers Ave. Situated along the northern boundary of Chicago's Logan Square community area at Diversey, it is heavily frequented by residents of Avondale and is considered to be part of Jackowo. Kosciuszko Park was commissioned in 1914 and completed in 1916; the Northwest Park District, one of Chicago's many park districts of the early twentieth century, opened the park as part of its efforts to add neighborhood parks in Northwest Chicago. As the park's original layout and landscape has changed over time, the fieldhouse is the main surviving piece of its original design. Architect Albert Arthur Schwartz began the design of the building; however, he was replaced by Frederick William Bowes halfway through its construction. The two men gave the fieldhouse a Tudor Revival design with a large half-timbered gable. The fieldhouse was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 16, 2013.Kosciuszko Park is named after Tadeusz Kościuszko, a national hero in Poland, Lithuania, the United States and Belarus. He led the 1794 Kościuszko Uprising against Imperial Russia and the Kingdom of Prussia as Supreme Commander of the National Armed Force (Najwyższy Naczelnik Siły Zbrojnej Narodowej).Kosciuszko Park has long been a community center for Chicago's Northwest Side. The park once housed one of the Chicago Public Library's most frequented branches before it was closed in the 1950s, as well as one of the first two Polish Language Schools in Chicago, Polska Szkoła im. Tadeusza Kościuszki. The Polish School still continues to this day, albeit in a different location as it outgrew the fieldhouse facilities. The park is a few blocks from St. Hyacinth Basilica, the Hairpin Arts Center, as well as the now razed Olson Park and Waterfall.

The Hermosa Bungalow Historic District is a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in the Hermosa community area on the northwest side of Chicago. The district is roughly bounded by W. Belmont Avenue to the north, N. Lowell Avenue to the east, W. Diversey Avenue to the south, and N. Kolmar Avenue to the west. The district's contributing properties include 298 bungalows, 15 brick multi-unit apartment buildings, 8 brick two-flats, 3 garages, and Barry Elementary School.On December 31, 2018, the Hermosa Bungalow Historic District Chicago was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It was the 13th such Chicago district to be added to the Register.

Hermosa is one of 77 designated Chicago community areas and is located on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. The Hermosa community area contains the Kelvyn Park and Hermosa neighborhoods. The area includes the birthplace of Walt Disney and is the former headquarters of the Schwinn Bicycle Company. While being one of the smaller community areas, Hermosa is one of the city's most densely populated neighborhoods. Today, Hermosa is a predominantly Hispanic blue collar community, with a sizable manufacturing base. Many of the people who reside in Hermosa have done so because of its convenient location to work, its relative proximity to downtown, and because of its healthy public transportation options. The Consulate-General of Honduras in Chicago is located in Hermosa at 4439 West Fullerton Avenue. On December 31, 2018, the Hermosa Bungalow Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

The Florsheim Shoe Company Building is a former factory for the Florsheim Shoe Company and a Chicago Landmark in the Avondale neighborhood. The building was built between 1924 and 1926 when the Florsheim Shoe Company had "2,500 employees, 71 retail outlets, 9,000 dealers and a network of regional wholesale distributors". The architect of the building was Alfred S. Alschuler, who designed numerous Chicago Landmarks and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was a factory for Florsheim until 1986, when it became the warehouse for a records management. The building, located on the 3900 block of West Belmont Avenue, is now luxury lofts. The Commission on Chicago Landmarks designated the building a Chicago Landmark on March 29, 2006.

The Milford Theatre was a movie palace located at 3311 N. Pulaski Road (originally Crawford Avenue), in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. Constructed in 1917, like the Portage Theater, it was designed by Henry L. Newhouse and opened for the Ascher Brothers circuit.The theatre had 1,150 seats, no balcony and a single screen. Because of the area's large Polish population, a significant share of the screenings were Polish films, drawing even street photographer Vivian Maier. When not screening Polish films, the Milford showed Hollywood productions at extremely low ticket prices, charging only 60 cents for admission deep into the 1970s. On February 27, 1981, famed Polish singer and guitarist Krzysztof Klenczon was seriously injured by a drunk driver in Chicago, en route from the Milford Ballroom that was part of the complex. Klenczon died on April 7 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chicago, and was buried July 25, 1981, in his family's plot in Szczytno, Poland.The theater remained open until 1990, and was demolished four years later after a fire.

The Wrightwood Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district encompassing the 4600 and 4700 blocks of Wrightwood Avenue in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. The district includes 58 houses built between 1916 and 1926, 55 of which are Chicago bungalows. As homeownership became more accessible in early twentieth century Chicago, the bungalow became popular as an affordable home design, and tens of thousands of the houses were built throughout Chicago. Like many of Chicago's bungalow-heavy neighborhoods, both the district and the Belmont Cragin neighborhood in general saw little residential development before the bungalow boom; however, the area was much more industrial than most similar neighborhoods. While several developers built bungalows in the district, the Stolzner Construction Company built over half of them, including every bungalow on the 4600 block. The company's architect, Joseph Klafter, differentiated the bungalows by changing details such as their color, entrance position, and dormer design.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 15, 2004.

The Basilica of Saint Hyacinth (Polish: Bazylika Świętego Jacka) is a historic church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago, located at 3636 West Wolfram Street in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It is a prime example of the so-called "Polish Cathedral style" of churches in both its opulence and grand scale. Along with such monumental religious edifices as St. Mary of the Angels, St. Hedwig's, and St. Wenceslaus, it is one of the many monumental Polish churches visible from the Kennedy Expressway.

Pritzker College Prep is a public four-year charter high school located in the Hermosa neighborhood in Chicago, Illinois. It is a part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. It opened its doors in 2006 and serves over 986 students in grades nine through twelve, as of the 2017-2018 school year.
