Claydon High School is a relatively small mixed secondary school in Claydon, Suffolk, England. The school is on the outskirts of Ipswich, just off the A14 and close to the A12 southbound. It shared a joint sixth form with Thurleston High School until July 2010, when their sixth form closed. On 1 June 2017, Claydon High School joined the South Suffolk Learning Trust, a multi-academy trust.

Kesgrave High School is a secondary school in Kesgrave in the English county of Suffolk. The school has over 1800 pupils aged 11 to 18. The school has been awarded Eco-school status and has 20 solar panels on top of the technology block. It has been awarded the Green Flag Award, becoming the first school in the region to have achieved such a feat. A study for Sustrans noted that 61% of the pupils cycled to the school. This is largely due to the installation of a large cycle lane through the housing estate and along the main road. The school actively encourages walking or cycling and provides bicycle storage facilities.The school has undergone extension in recent years, including the construction of a new Creative Media Department, a Communications block, a PE block and a sixth form block. The school underwent further extension in the Summer of 2013 with the demolishing of the History block, one of the oldest blocks in the school, and the building of the new humanities block which was completed in April 2014. Ofsted rated it as good following the most recent inspection. Prior to this, the school had been rated as outstanding. Kesgrave High School was the first school in Britain to ban skirts for girls.On 24 June 2015, the school's Space Club achieved the world record for the highest altitude paper plane launch, reaching an altitude of 35,043 meters.

Kesgrave Hall School was a private boys' boarding school in Kesgrave, England, catering for pupils with high academic potential who were unable to flourish in mainstream schools.

Kesgrave Hall is a country house located in woodlands north of the town of Kesgrave, which itself is on the eastern outskirts of Ipswich, in Suffolk, England. It was constructed in 1812 by William Cunliffe-Shawe, and has been extended since, notably by the addition of a northern extension. The building has five large rooms downstairs, with another two in the northern extension, with a further seven upstairs. The building is set in 38 acres (150,000 m2) of grounds, which includes woodlands, marsh and fields; a stream, which rises on Playford Heath, north of Kesgrave village, and joins the River Fynn, itself a tributary of the Deben, at Martlesham, runs west to east through the grounds. The Hall has had several uses during its life, including housing five different boarding schools. Since late April 2008, the building has been used as a restaurant and hotel and owned as a joint venture by the Hills Building Group and the Milsom Hotel Group.

Kesgrave is a town and civil parish in the East Suffolk district of Suffolk, England. The town is close to both Ipswich and Woodbridge. Kesgrave forms part of the wider Ipswich Built-up area.

Bealings railway station was a station in Little Bealings, Suffolk, on the line between Ipswich and Lowestoft. It was 7 miles 20 chains (11.7 km) down the line from Ipswich. While the station closed on 17 September 1956, the line remains open and both the station building and platforms survive. It was opened by the Eastern Union Railway (EUR) on 1 June 1859 when the full East Suffolk Line opened between Great Yarmouth in Norfolk and Ipswich in Suffolk. The station buildings were designed by Frederick Barnes (architect), who also designed Woodbridge station. By the 1860s the railways in East Anglia were in financial trouble, and most (including the EUR) were leased to the Eastern Counties Railway; they wished to amalgamate formally, but could not obtain government agreement for this until 1862, when the Great Eastern Railway was formed by amalgamation. Thus in 1862 the operation of Bealings Station was taken over by the Great Eastern Railway who operated the station until 1923 when grouping saw the Great Eastern Railway taken over by the London and North Eastern Railway. The July 1922 Bradshaw's Guide showed seven up services (towards Ipswich) and seven down services calling at the station, with two services each way on Sundays. Most services were local trains which would originate or terminate at Ipswich and call at most stations on the East Suffolk Line. However, the station did enjoy a main line service direct to Liverpool Street. Bradshaw's stated that the 08:17 departure conveyed first and third class Pullman carriages (there was no second class at this time), arriving in Liverpool Street at 10:30. The return working was at 15:18, arriving back in Bealings at 17:22. From 1916 the station was the railhead for Martlesham Heath Airfield. In 1919 the goods yard was recorded as having three roads one of which served a small goods shed (the building on the left-hand side of the picture).After World War II the railways were nationalised and Bealings station became part of British Railways' Eastern Region. Lack of patronage saw the station close in September 1956 and the goods yard followed in April 1965. The signal box (opened in 1884 with 18 levers for signals and points) remained in use, however, as a block post to divide up the Westerfield-Woodbridge section and to operate the level crossing gates. The box lasted until 1984, when it was closed as a result of the introduction of RETB (Radio Electronic Token Block) signalling on the East Suffolk line; at the same time, the manual level crossing gates were replaced by the current automatic half-barriers. The station building is still extant today and is occupied by the Mallard Business Centre.

Little Bealings is a village in Suffolk, England. It has a population of approximately 470 people living in around 185 households. The population had fallen to 420 at the 2011 Census. Its nearest towns are Ipswich (5.1 miles (8.2 km) away) and Woodbridge (3.1 miles (5.0 km) away). Nearby villages include Great Bealings, Playford, Culpho, Martlesham and Grundisburgh. The village contains a school, a village hall and a meeting room called the Angela Cobbold Memorial Hall. Its pub, the Admiral's Head, closed on 20 July 2012.Until 1956 the village had an active railway station. This was closed as part of the 1950s rail closure programme, prior to the Beeching Axe. The station is now used as commercial office premises. The railway line running through the station remains active, as part of the Ipswich to Lowestoft line, and crosses the main street at an automatic level crossing. Little Bealings' church is All Saints, part of a shared benefice with Great Bealings, Playford and Culpho. The Grove, an old house and estate in the village, was the childhood home of Sidney Colvin, the curator, critic, and great friend of Robert Louis Stevenson.

Playford is a small village in Suffolk, England, on the outskirts of Ipswich. It has about 215 residents in 90 households. The name comes from the Old English plega meaning play, sport; used of a place for games, or a courtship or mating-place for animals, and the Old English ford meaning a place where a stream or river can be crossed. Villages nearby include Rushmere, Little Bealings, Great Bealings, Culpho and Grundisburgh. There are no pubs or shops in Playford, although it has a church (St Mary's) and a village hall.

Ipswich Heaths is a 39.4-hectare (97-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Ipswich in Suffolk.The site consists of two separate areas in Martlesham Heath and Purdis Heath. They contain heather heath and acid grassland, with clumps of bracken and gorse. This mosaic of habitats is valuable for butterflies. such as the silver-studded blue, common blue and small heath.Footpaths cross the heaths.

Playford Hall is a country house in the civil parish of Playford, in the East Suffolk district, in the county of Suffolk, England. Playford Hall is set in 30 acres, the gardens were designed in 1960 by Lady Penelope Aitken. Playford Hall is owned and occupied by the Melrose family and the grounds are sometimes opened to support charities. The house is a Grade II* listed building and the moated site is a scheduled monument.

Royal Air Force Martlesham Heath or more simply RAF Martlesham Heath is a former Royal Air Force station located 1.5 miles (2.4 km) southwest of Woodbridge, Suffolk, England. It was active between 1917 and 1963, and played an important role in the development of Airborne Interception radar.

Great Bealings is a small village in Suffolk, England. It has about 302 people living in it in around 113 households. Its nearest towns are Ipswich (6 miles (9.7 km) away) and Woodbridge (2.6 miles (4.2 km)). Nearby villages include Little Bealings, Playford, Culpho, Hasketon and Grundisburgh. The village does not have an obvious centre, and the population is split between two areas — one around Lower Street to the East of the village, and the other at Boot Street/Grundisburgh Road to the West of the village. St Mary's, the village church, is about in the middle of these two centres of population. The village shares a playing field with Little Bealings, which is located behind the joint Village Hall, and includes a grassed plateau, a fenced and hard surfaced multi-sports court, children's play equipment, and a boules piste. It is named after John Ganzoni, Lord Belstead, who lived in the village for many years, and whose Charitable Trust Fund supported the project. The River Lark passes through the middle of the village, and is crossed by the main road with a humpback bridge.
